Bride and Prejudice

I rented "Bride and Prejudice" this past weekend. I ended up watching it Saturday afternoon, while DFi was at work.
I loved it. It's a Bollywood spin on Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" (which is one of my all-time favorite books) with an Indian girl falling in love with an American man. It was really cute. I even enjoyed all of the singing in it.
Plus, Naveen Andrews is in it!
It's a good rental movie and puts you in a happy mood when watching it. I ended up purchasing a copy of it online after watching it.
I recommend it if you are considering renting it.

I watched it the other night too. I LOVE Pride & Prejudice, both the novel and the BBC/A&E Production, and I thought this movie was pretty good. I have to say I hated the casting of Mr. Darcy in it, but NO ONE can compare to Colin Firth in that role. I just didn't think the guy in B&P had the haughtiness to carry the role off.

What I loved about the movie was Naveen Andrews! I thought he was wonderful and in such a different character than on LOST. I thought the opening song/dance number was so hysterical. I must have watched that part about 20 times then I found a website to download part of it so I'm still watching it! The Cobra Dance and the cousin from LA were a hoot too!

True. I'm keeping an open mind though. I'm dying to see Judi Dench's Lady Catherine. It will also be great to see Donald Sutherland as Mr. Bennett.

He is soooooo dreamy! I actually brought out my 6 vhs tapes of P&P and watched them all night Saturday night. After getting up 6 times to change them out, I decided I need to order them on DVD, lol.

I got it from netflix last week and loved it. wish naveen was in it a bit more

I can't get the song, "no life without wife" out of my head. actually looked to see if itunes had it to download for my ipod but no luck.

I didn't know there was a new P&P coming out. I don't think even Judy Dench will be a draw for me, not after Colin Firth's version. That is the ultimate P&P in my book!

I love Judy Dench and Kiera Knightly, but I watched the trailer for the movie last night and I wasn't really impressed. I didn't like the guy playing Mr. Darcy (go figure ) and I don't care much for Donald Sutherland so him being Mr. Bennett kind of ruins the movie for me. I'm sure I'll still go see the movie, but I'm with you, no one can replace Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy

I agree. I have the A&E version on TIVO in my bedroom and I own the DVD...a little obessessed?
I wasn't going to watch B&P, but with all of these great reviews, I am going to Blockbuster tomorrow!
