I know this is more of a wedding board question, but I wanted to find out pretty quickly. SO my question is do the grooms to be go with the bride to be to the bridal shows?

DD and I went alone, but I did see quite a few grooms-to-be there as well..:goodvibes

My husband went with me, but he was one of a very few. Though this was in '01/'02, so there might be more grooms-to-be going now. I thought it was really nice to have him there.

I went when we were planning our wedding. I vetoed some of the vendors as well - I didn't care when the dress places talked exclusively to DW, but I put my foot down when I would ask a potential photographer a question (ie, the use of B&W film or the like) and they would direct the answer to DW.

Anyway, if the groom to be wants to go, more power to him.

DH went with me. And I'm glad he did, for two reasons: 1) we found our dj there, and 2) the whole show drove me insane so it was nice to have him around to keep me from going completely crazy.

My husband and I run a video production company and we do lots of weddings. We see TONS of grooms at the bridal shows. Some are super interested, some are bored stiff, most are just trying to be supportive. BUT, when you find tech stuff, like video or DJ, they perk right up!!;)

My BFF just got married, we only hit up 1 bridal show and she got everything she wanted/needed there! :) Her DF did not go, her bridal party and her Mom and SIL did. There were quite a few guys there tho and if her DF hadn't been out of the country on a mission (he's in the Air Force) he would have gone with us. If your DF wants to go that's great, it's his wedding too. Just keep him away from dress shopping. :)

Unless he really wants to, it's more of a ladies' thing. Get your friends together and go. Hit up the cake samples, collect literature from companies that look good, and tell him about the highlights.

Best tip I got--bring preprinted address labels with your info on them. It saves SO much time writing!

OOH! Good one! We see that a lot! Put your email address on them too! Our company sends discounts to brides we meet at shows. We send a 10% coupon with a "newsletter" of all of our offerings. 10% of a package that costs $1300 is a good chunk.
