I need some different ideas for a gift for an Around the Clock themed shower. I got 6 pm and want to do something beyond wine glasses or stuff for a pasta dinner. I know there are so many creative people here and would love to hear some out of the box ideas.

An around the clock shower is where each guest is assigned a "time" and they are to give a gift that relates to that time-so a 6:00PM time, many people would chose things that correspond to making dinner, for example. I went to one that was a 10:00 am assigned time and got cleaning supplies (mop, buckets, etc.)

OP-at 6:00 I would do a bucket or basket of fun kitchen utensils or get some fun serving dishes. Thinking outside of the box is fine but you really want to give something that the bride will use. Does she have a gift registry? I would pick some food prep items off that.

Most of my 10am's -in fact 99.9% of them- are not spent with a mop

I have also never heard of this but it sounds pretty interesting. I agree with golfgal that you may want to stick with traditional on this one as dinner related items are usually really appreciated.

What about gift cards to different restaurants presented in a cute fashion.

To the OP-6pm is cocktail time-any type of glasses, wine carafe, cheese board, knives, mojito maker mortar, margarita glasses ....:)

How about a "Dinner Party" type theme. Wine, a few glasses, maybe a fondue cookbook and a fondue pot and then a post dinner party game?

Thanks - this theme is really popular in MN. They are registered and I'm heading to Target this morning. I think I'm going to give them Pannekoeken recipe and stuff to use making it.

I am not sure I would be happy getting assigned a time etc---I like to just go to store they are registered at and pick out the thing closest to the price I am wanting to spend-- then to have to pick something that goes with a time and the price....would rather just buy something in my price range than have to assemble mops, cleaning supplies etc into a gift....glad I never heard of this in this area!

This is a cute way to do a shower...never heard of it here in NY....btw what in the world is Pannekoeken?

For a pasta gift...you could fill a large colander with an Italian cookbook, pasta bowls, pasta scoop, cheese grater, one of those spaghetti measuring tools, oil & vinegar cruets, jars of gourmet sauce, bags of flavored or shaped pasta, bread dipping set, etc.

It's sort of a Danish pancake of sorts. They are very good.

How about getting some of the bathroom stuff from the registry? Towels, shower curtain, etc then put in a restaurant gift card. Kind of a 6PM getting ready to go out theme?
