Has anyone played any fun games or done any fun activities for a bridal shower? One thing I've heard about are quizzes about the bride and groom. What else have you done (at your bridal shower or someone else's)?

Thanks!

When my MOH threw my shower, she did two games. One was a crossword puzzle, the questions were facts about me and DH, and the other was bridal shower bingo. Before I began to open gifts, the guests filled in their own bingo card with the gifts they thought I would receive. Every guest that got bingo was then given a small prize. It was a good way to keep everyone interested while the gift opening was going on.

Oh, I love the gift bingo idea! Otherwise, some people do get bored during the gift opening. Or at least that's what people have said to me before they went to a shower. Personally, I think it's fun to see what people get you. And why do people buy so much stuff that *isn't* on the registry?!

At one of mine we did the quiz about us and a wedding word scramble...with words like engagement, bouquet, etc scrambled.

One of our favorite things..divide the guest into two teams, more if you have a lot of guests. Give each team plenty of toilet paper and ask them to create the bride's wedding gown. The bride does not play, she chooses the winner. One person on each team is the model that is adorned with all the TP. It is a lot of fun.

Another..this is a great break the ice game. Ask each guest to bring what they wear to bed in a brown paper bag. All bags are gathered as guests arrive so no one really knows who brought what. The hostess goes bag by bag and each guest tries to guess who's pj's belong to who. We have seen everything from empty, whip cream, chocolate, sexy lingerie and flannels..lol. Lot's of fun.

Another thing we do. Give each guest a clothes pin as they enter the shower. When all guests arrive and the shower has officially started..explain to the guests that they can not cross their legs. Each time a guest is caught by another guest crossing their legs, the guest that catches the leg crosser takes the crossers clothes pin away from them. At the end of the shower the guest with most clothes pins gets a prize, if you chose to do prizes.

Also..we mark one (sometimes two if the shower has a lot of guests) the bottom of the paper plates used for dinner/cake and whoever gets the plates marked with X on bottom wins a prize.

Another thing. You could make a list of 10 questions or so, all relating to bride. Shortly before you start this game, ask bride to leave the room discreetly. Start the game, ask the questions, then ask bride to come back in room for answer part. The guest with most correct answers wins a prize.
What color shirt/blouse. How many rings is she wearing, etc.

one bridal shower i went to this year had bridal shower bingo but it was played while the bride opened the gifts. if she got towels, those who had towels on their card marked it off and won little prizes. another game, i remember, was what's in your purse. they read off a list of things women would have in their purses and if you pulled out what is on the list, like let's say lipstick, you won a prize.

The bridal bingo - described earlier is a lot of fun!

We were just at a baby shower, and this could be easily adapted to a wedding shower. The hostess of the shower asked the new dad 15 questions the day before the shower. During the shower, the same questions were asked of the new mom. The mom gave her answer. The people playing the game needed to decide if the dad's answers would match the mom's or would not match the mom's answer.

Remembering this was a baby shower, some of the questions were: When did the mom bring up to the dad that she wanted to have children? How many kids does the mom want? How did the mom let the dad know she was expecting? How much did the mom spend on maternity clothes - (if the answers were within $75 - it was considered a match) How much did the couple spend on the baby's room (within $200)?

This could easily turn in to wedding/related questions - how did they get engaged, what was the first restaurant they went out to eat at, how many kids do they want, what was the grooms greatest contribution to planning the wedding, how many dresses did the bride try on before she found "the dress" etc.

Have fun!

Hi! My bridesmaids threw me a Mad Hatter Tea Party. They did the bridal shower Bingo game. They did a tea party word scramble. All the guests wore hats and I was the judge. The coolest game though, they compiled a Disney Trivia list. They all took guesses as to how many questions about Disney I could answer correctly. The person who guessed the right number got a prize. The prizes were all tea pots filled with flowers. They also wrote things down that I was saying as I opened gifts. Then read them back out loud as what I would say on my wedding night. It was loads of fun!! :wave2:
