Breaking News: BLT Units 2A & 2B declared

I have seen it posted before, but have never seen the basis for the comment. I guess if it gets posted enough, it can become a fact!

There may be some type of law regarding this, but there is apparently a way to work around it. Other companies have.

u mean everything i read here isn't true...i am crushed:3dglasses

believe i 1st saw it posted when AKV started to sell...statement was one of the reasons they flipped over the resort rooms to DVC (besides the fact that they were giving too many complimentary upgrades from what i gatherpopcorn:: )

maybe our esteemed sponsor TSS could chime in to clarify?

Does this mean we are fairly secure in the Oct 3rd announcement date? (LOL AT least more sure than the July1st or August one?)

I don't think there is anything concrete about an anouncement yet. There was specualtion when the MNSSHP was cancelled on 10/3 that a BIG announcement was coming thqt day, but later many have attributed the cancellation to keeping the date open for the Miley BD party (that was eventually scheduled at DL of 10/5). -- Suzanne

Rumors have been posted here about some big DVC announcements in Oct and those rumors seem to have been started by DVC itself. However, those are the kind that scare me. When DVC starts rumors about big announcements coming, the announcement eventually made is usually not "We are opening BLT!" but instead something like "We are going to charge a $95 fee to trade out to non-DVC Disney hotels because that is what our members really wanted."

Hoping to be able to tour when we go in Dec.:cloud9: But, I would definitely buy in before our trip if they opened up the sales before then.

My new DVC guide called yesterday (Tuesday) to introduce herself.
I asked her about BLT. She said she can talk about it "in a couple of days."
We may not need to wait til October! :yay:

Hey Caroline, Just curious where you heard this. Its a new one on me.

I'm in the middle of an add-on and my guide had mentioned it briefly. I questioned him a bit more about exactly what would be open when. He told me and then also checked with his manager and verified it.

According to them, if you are looking at the "S" curve of the building, from the lobby down will be finished and opened. That will include the restaurant, shops, and also the pool areas. The upper rooms and also the new rainforest savannah that will be in the upper area will be opening later in September. He said the new rainforest actually might be open before September to acclimate the animals, but with the rooms and areas not open - there won't be any viewing until the remainder of Kidani is open.

Now given that we are only looking at a 3 1/2 - 4 month difference between the May 2009 opening and then September 1, 2009 finish date. I would guess most of the major construction will actually be finished in May and what would be left would be the inside work on the "upper" buildings and rooms and landscaping for those areas.

The logo on the drawings has 3 mountains instead of 2...what does THAT signify do you think (and yet another mystery to be solved- maybe THAT's the BIG announcement in October!!):lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I believe the 3 mountain design is the ORIGINAL DVC logo. A few years later they switched to the 2 mountains.

I don't want to buy into BLT, but wouldn't mind using points at the 7 month period when available in the future, just to try it out.

I believe the correct wording is something more along the lines of:

Do to overwhelming member demand, we have added a new enchancement when trading out to non-DVC Disney Resorts. This new enhancement will enhance the way you book your vacations in an enhancing way. This new enhancement consists of a $95 enhancement fee when booking these types of enhanced vacations. Please keep member suggestions coming, as this is the only way we can enhance your membership.

Or something like that. ;)

Heading down to the world Sunday.... just may drop by the DVC sales center

I really think this is what makes DVC so great. There is something for everyone. We are thrilled with owning at BCV and AKV and have no real interest in the mystery buliding.....but it is great to see so many people excited about owning at another new resort that they will welcome to call home.

I am as curious as everyone else though to see what the cost will be per point. I dont belive it will be sky high but more in the $106-$110 per point range with no incentives. I think the high end would be $115. I dont see how the could essentially "de-value" the other resorts by making the point cost any higher.

This is all very interesting to say the least. I will be somewhat disappointed if they break BLT into a separate category as was discussed earlier, although the finance guy in me says it makes sense. Why sell them for $110 when you can probably get much more, even if it takes a bit longer...

Ok, I just can't stand it. Pass the popcorn popcorn:: and coffee :surfweb:. YUM.. they go together so well.
