Checking in last from the smart phone. Nose to grindstone but I'll have some rum balls too. Think I might post picture later...much later.

I stopped by DM's house after the morning school run and some shopping.

DM had been shopping too and had a bottle or rum on her counter. I asked if she was making rum balls? Nope butterscotch rum topping for icecream for a desert next week.

I finished my Christmas shopping this morning. Happy about that.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Went to beaver creek today to have a look as they have opened more runs.

Big mistake....:sad2::sad2:

The is a difference between open....and having snow....
Because it is the 19th December the crowds are growing so I think they have opened anything that is ....reasonable.....
I had been doing mainly blue runs at Breckenridge and Vail and Keystone....and had not yet fallen.
First run at beaver creek and I fell over as there was a literal sheet of ice running down he run. When I finally got going again I took the only green around which was a catwalk. Which was literally ice, slush, with rocks showing through. if I wanted that I'd go skiing in Australia.

My mum who has fallen quite a few times on other runs due to a weak knee survived the mountain......then fell.......down the escalators... top to bottom.... :scared1::scared1:

Her knee is now completely stuffed and she's hurt her shoulder too.
We are both a bit upset about the damage to the lens on the helmet (it is an Italian model which has an integrated lens with the helmet) as we are yet to find a replacement And I fear it might be pricy...
But the thing is her head was protected in the fall by wearing it...so...that's what matters most

I've only hurt my left wrist and my arm a bit which a strapping will mend.

So....fun fun fun....:sad2:

Glad you guys are almost there. I am not. I have to mail again and hope it gets there in time.

Before Gisele walks away.... she kisses Queenie's boo boo. Hoping her owies will feel better. :)

Queenie - sorry about all the falls, I hope you and your mum are still able to enjoy the trip!

OMG dude! Are you joking? My sig is a photo of The Doors. Do they look like the Beatles? Being the group, not the insect. :) The Doors that is wearing glasses is Ray Manzarek (Keyboard artist)

How I do love The Doors! If you were to ask me, to what degree that love would be, my answer must be like that of the vastness of the universe.... infinite. :)

Four pages today.

queenie82 - sounds like a good soak in the hot tub is needed tonight. I hope you both heal up soon.

Thanks guys for the well wishes. Aches all around....but hopefully on the mend...

There's been no significant snow on Breck, Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone or copper in weeks. Only flurries on a couple days that were no use except to cause White outs on the mountain.
Aspen got 6 inches on the 14th so was looking healthier when we visited sightseeing yesterday. But I gotta say the distance between Aspen and Snowmass is MUCH BIGGER than advertising suggests.

The thing is though Breck and Vail have done an impressive job with what they've had. Keystone too. Copper looks good too.
But beaver.....it's ridiculous. The runs weren't groomed and were downright dangerous.

Oh well. Going to visit Steamboat springs just to visit tomorrow.
The US selections are on there and Aussie moguler Britteny Cox won yesterday :) :yay:
