Your poor DS, someday, when he's much older with his own place, and maybe he brings home a somewhat shady lady....and they end up falling asleep, and then she leaves while he's asleep, he'll be scarred from the time he woke up alone without his mommy when they slept in his tent as a young boy! He'll be afraid of women and be scarred for life! :lmao:

No, I'd planned to pick up chinese for linner, but I had to buy stuff at the grocery store, so I ordered it as I was heading for the checkout so I could pick it up on the way home. You've got to love the Chinese, when I walked into pay for it the lady at the counter say, "lot of people" as if we'd ordered too much food for two people! :rotfl2:

We'll have leftovers for days!!!!!!

Is that possible? Everytime I get take out chinese, the left overs rarely make it to the next day.

I've been told sweet and sour is only red because of red vinegar...
You can make the flavour traditionally and it isn't actually red...
That right?

So kind of stuff do you get when you get takeaway??
 
Sometime I wonder if people ;), take more time setting up food for pictures, that they do preparing it to eat.
 
My version of sweet and sour sauce is based on that traditional ingredient of good old tomato sauce.

Red is usually a food colouring addition. Even red vinegar would not get you to that bright red colour of the sauce we're used to seeing.


We get a mix of things. Depending on whether we're eating Thai, Chinese, Indian, Japanese or Malaysian. If we're doing Chinese take-away, we get the special fried rice, providing it's vegie-'pesky'-tarian; DS loves sweet and sour; so we normally get that, DH needs a mixed vegie stir fry with tofu and I get to choose the last dish...a protein of sort.
 
Sometime I wonder if people ;), take more time setting up food for pictures, that they do preparing it to eat.

In my case, my picture shots have to be VERY QUICKLY taken. Stir fry and long set-up times for cameras do not mix.

So, by inference, I spend more time preparing food for eating; than setting up a camera for food porn. :thumbsup2

And for the record....even before I picked up a camera, I was always preparing my food and arranging it similar to how they look in the 'before' shots. Just something that you pick up as a child to do from the various mother's and auntie's kitchens. It is more efficient to have things in tidy piles before you start cooking....as with stir fries and Asian cooking, you need to have ALL the prep done beforehand.
I haven't done anything special or different since getting my camera.
 
It makes it easier to have the ingredients ready. Has anyone heard how Fran is doing?
 
No update on Fran since this morning...she was cranky. The nurse came late.
 
It's mid-afternoon here. And even DS has put himself into bed for an afternoon nap. I guess he didn't sleep that much in the tent either! :laughing:

I think I'm going to head down on the bed.
