Since Father's Day, Murphy's Law has been plaguing my family! If something could go wrong in a big way, sure enough it did. Anything from poisonous snakes, to one child diagnosed with brain lesion and the other needing emergency appendectomy, to a giant palm tree falling on the pool cage, etc. You get the point, it's been a VERY challenging time, and the challenges being the most unusual things. It's December and we've had enough of this! It's time to escape reality for a few days! Time to exchange Murphy's Law for Disney's Magic.
The vacationers, dh, myself, ds(16) and ds(6). We are celebrating a birthday! DS turns 17 on the trip! His birthday wish is to go fishing. So now, he and dh need to find somewhere fish will bite in this cold weather that is expected. He wanted to eat his birthday meal at The Plaza restaurant. He loves the brownie sundae dessert! Been trying to get an ADR for weeks, and The Plaza is all booked up. The Plaza?? (Murphy's law, I tell you!) DS(6) has three goals for this trip, to go to the Lego store at DTD, to ride the Barnstormer rollercoaster, and to see PUSH the trash can. My hope is to get our annual Christmas picture in front of the Christmas tree at the yaht club. It's such a beautiful, masculine looking tree decorated in nautical decor, perfect for my boys, especially since they love fishing! My husband's wish is to recreate his dole whip masterpiece at the Polynesian. You can fill your own cup and he can fit more into a cup than you could imagine!!
His last trip to the dole whip machine, ended in a work of art! You know the air pockets that abound in the ones made in the Magic Kingdom? Well, dh has no tolerance for air pockets in his dole whip!! With keen determination, he filled that cup in full, no air pockets in his creation! It stood a good six inches or more in height above the cup's peak. Then something happened that caused it to buldge at the sides. No problem for dh, he added more dole whip to balance it out. The bulging dole whip took on the shape of a banana as more weight was added to the height. His goal is to recreate this delicious masterpiece.
Let the magic begin! Time to pack!
