You know that's exactly what happened to me! I think the first time around I was so excited..and tired..and anxious..I think A LOT of the book didn't sink in for me. It all felt sort of surreal.

I'm re-reading it right now, and it just feels different this time around.

I agree with you guys as well. BD seems to be one of those things that just has to "marinate" for me. The more I think about it, and the further I get in the re-read, the better I like it.

This type of thing has happened to me before. For example....the first time I watched Nightmare Before Christmas, I didn't like it. Didn't get it. Now it's one of my favorites.

I finished the book 2 days ago and had to let everything digest... I would have never imagined that Bella would get pregnant and that is what the story would revolve around. I really did enjoy it overall. The one thing that I didnt really like that the 80% of the story took place within the Cullen House and property. Except for the honeymoon, and a quick visit to Charlie's everyting took place there and I got pretty bored with that. I think the Volturi council was a littel drug out, maybe more battel would have kept my interest during that point. My favorite part was when Charlie came to visit, and he realized that the Nessie was Bella and Edwards, IDK why but I actually teared up. I think SM writed with suck amazing detail that you cant not feel like you are right there. I do wonder what will happen with Leah, she is the only one at the end that whose "loose ends " werent tied up. Of course hearing what happens to Jacob and Nessie will be interesting too.

I just read somewhere, when SM was asked about the book cover, that it was the chess piece due to this Volturi council. That it played out like a game of chess instead of a big fight. That made it make sense to me.

I haven't checked out the above links yet, so I'm not sure if it's the same thing, but on mugglenet.com (it's a HP fan site) they have a podcast of an interview they did with SM. It was pretty good.

I also wanted to tell everyone that Borders has Twilight t-shirts. They have one with Edward's face and he looks really good and the back says Twilight. Then they have one that has the whole cast in the front, including James, Victoria & Laurent. In the back it says when you can live forever, what do you live for? They are pretty cool & about $20 each. They also have a Twilight calendar for those who didn't already know that. As I mentioned in a previous post, Hot Topic store has Twilight t-shirts too.

SM has said in all of her interviews after BD was released that the cover has 2 meanings. Listen to the podcast on muuglenet and she says exactly that. The end scene with the Volturi ending not in a huge battle, but like a chess game when they have to use their wit, and make the right moves. Then she says it has to do with Bella being the weakest player then turning into the strongest player by saving everyone in the end.

Nope, they're different shirts. HT has the one with the movie poster, one with all the Cullens and one with the movie Twilight logo. Give them a while though, my local HT sold out of them last friday.

I live in NY and checked 2 malls Hot Topic stores and they both had the Twilight t shirts. They weren't displayed, they were just on a shelf and if I wasn't looking for it I would've missed it. They didn't have anything else Twilight related. THe t shirt is not the same one that Borders has. I will take a pic of the one from Hot Topic and post it. If you go to Ebay and type in Twilight t shirts, the first couple of t shirts are the ones from Borders.
