I would like to know what your fave breakfast restaurants are??

We have only tried a few over the last 2 trips and would like to do more this time.

We have done Cape May, Captains Grille and Boma (which was DH fave) so far.

Any other favourites??

We've done lots of different breakfasts in the past and ,you know, the best ones for me have been getting into some of the parks early and sitting with a cup of tea and a slice of cake watching everyone else coming in and seeing the huge smiles on the kids' faces :)

Done most breakfasts now so here is my rundown (hope it's of use) I'm sure I've forgotten some :)

Crystal Palace - love it here the choice is great, getting in before park opening is even better and the characters are amazing. Even my teenage son can cope with the characters here LOL 10/10

CRT - the food is very basic more like a $10 breakfast so only go if you are really tempted by the characters and eating in the castle - food 6/10 characters and ambience 10/10

Akershus - very nice food but not for the picky eater - buffet is smoked salmon, salami, cooked meat and fruit plus pastries. They bring a cooked breakfast including their amazing cheesy potato bake to your table and you re-order as much as you want. Before the kids outgrew the princesses this was our favourite for character breakfast for value as you also get your photo included for a single ddp credit. 10/10 but don't go if you are picky or don't love the princesses :goodvibes:

1900PF - not the best (in fact we think the worst character breakfast at WDW) 2/10

Ohanas breakfast - amazing characters and probably the best for boys - Stitch is naughty and the others lots of fun. The food is average a fruit plate, bread and a cooked family style breakfast - characters 10/10 food 8/10

Boma our favourite non-character buffet 10/10 for us

Captains Grille a close second to Boma - not quite the choice at breakfast but some lovely different foods not available at every buffet breakfast plus the choice of an a la carte breakfast menu 10/10

Cape May Café - was very nice but not amazing. the character interaction is ok and the food was very similar but not as good as Captain's grille 8/10

Kouzzina - the best non-buffet non-character breakfast at WDW IMHO 10/10 - the greek breakfast and mascarpone waffles were amazing.

Our favourite breakfast location is actually wolf gag puck express. Even though its CS is by far our favourite.

Favourite TS is Ohana for breakfast we had such a lovely meal there.

We have done (for breakfast)

1900 park fare we actually really enjoyed it and will be going back. May be it was the character experiences we had or strawberry soup alone is a good enough reason to go back.

Cape may was the worst the interaction was awful just a quick photo and hug and gone. Ok DD is only 2 but she loves interacting with characters. The only character meal we havent booked to go back to.

Akershus we loved. Me especially. The pastries were the best here and I love pastries. The hot food was really nice the potato dish they brought over was very very good.

Tusker house amazing I loved the theme in here as well. They had very different dishes similar to boma for breakfast.

Hollywood and vine ok this is a disney junior character meal and won't appeal to most but again had a really good time here. DH loves the breakfast burrito.

Boma we actually hated it here due to the service though the food was fine.

I am looking forward to breakfast in the castle and at chef Mickey. Even if they don't get great reviews DD will be happy there.

'Ohana is our favourite. :)

I want to try Cape May and Whispering Canyon next trip. :)

I think it all depends on the day you are there.

Our best over the years was 1900 Park Fare and the worst (due to lack of characters) was Crystal Palace.

We don't tend to do character breakfasts because we like to use our DP credits for dinner, but of the ones we have tried we Love, Love, LOVE, Crystal Palace. Hollywood & Vine is great if you have little ones, but not really for older kids. This time we're trying Tusker House for breakfast which will be a new experience for us.

We have eaten at almost all of the character restaurants, but usually for dinner. CRT is overpriced, you're paying for the characters not the food.

Last year we tried Kona for the first time and LOVED it. The samoan is sooo good. Pulled smoked pork over some light greens topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. YUM! :):thumbsup2

I would say Crystal Palace purely because it gets you into Magic Kingdom before opening. Main Street has a couple of photo pass photographers around that will take a picture if you in front of the castle with a near empty park

Our two favorite breakfasts at Disney are Crystal Palace and Kona Cafe.

Onsite ours is Ohana. Tusker House is a close second.

We also love going for breakfast at iHOP :thumbsup2

The TV ad for Disney when the kids enter MK for the 1st time gets me welling up every time! :rotfl:

Cape may was the worst the interaction was awful just a quick photo and hug and gone. Ok DD is only 2 but she loves interacting with characters. The only character meal we havent booked to go back to.

We have stayed at both BC and YC and have eaten here a couple of times for breakfast. We found the same. The food was ok, but not as good as the Captain's Grille next door and the characters seem to be rushed on. I think that the dining room is so large that they have so many to get through. We find that we were getting up and down for pictures and up and down for the buffet that we ended up with indigestion. Following that we aimed for character dining that wasn't buffet.

LOVE Boma- must-do!

O'hana, Kona, and Whispering Canyon are other favs.

Pepper Market at CSR had a great breakfast burrito, but I'm not sure if they changed it.

We're trying some resort cs breakfasts this trip so we may find some hidden gems.

Crystal Palace
Ohana
Cape May (great food; character interaction one of the worst we've had)
1900 Park Fare (really enjoyed the food, but again character interaction not the best)

When voting for the best, it's subject to a certain degree as to the reason you are picking a specific restaurant for breakfast. CP is our all round favorite. We've had breakfast there 4 times and other meals there too and it has never failed to impress, both in terms of food and also character interaction.

Cape May probably had the nicest buffet of the lot, but the poor character interaction and somewhat bland atmosphere affected our overall view of the experience. That said I would try it again because I fully accept that it can depend on the day you are there. We arrived early for our ADR - really early - but were seated about 45 minutes late. Characters rushed past and in fact, I even got up and went to call one of the staff to ask them to send Goofy back over. He was in such a hurry to pose for a quick pic and move on that he didn't seem to notice DD holding out her autograph book!

Ohana was amazing. I'd be back there in a heartbeat too. That pineapple bread ....... :worship:

Ohana! We book there every trip. We have done Tusker House every trip but last year the food was horrible, tasted like someone spilled salt all in the food. It was bad enough we are not eating there this year. But all the trips before that were awesome, so maybe next year we will give it another try.

We have been going to Crystal palace since I was 2 and I'm now 28!!
I love picking a place that you form a tradition from, my mum has pics of me from every year up to date with the characters and now I have pictures from when my boys was babies to now at 8,8,10 :)........so great to look back on!

Other then there we love
Tusker house, ....we was walking by one morning around 11 and was hungry so popped in on the off chance we would get seated, we didn't even realise at this point that it was a Character buffet lol! We have been back another 3 times its a must in the list for our boys and us.

And also rainforest Cafe I know prob a bizarre choice but we found breakfast really reasonable and great food.

We always try to do Crystal Palace on the first morning to get into the park early plus we enjoy the food. Not bothered so much with characters these days but there is a good selection of food.

Also enjoy going to the Grand Floridian Cafe on the last morning as it is so laid back and not at all rushed or noisy.

Love them both:)

Crystal Palace is the best one IMO. 1900 Park Fare is also good, as is Cape May Cafe. We found Chef Mickeys to be very noisy and service slow. O'Hanas was good but nowhere near the range found in the buffets.

We have had an evening meal at CP both times and loved the character interaction.... everyone loves Tigger!!

I will definitely be putting O'Hanas on the menu as so many people have suggested it. :grouphug:
