Hello. My wife and I are going to WDW in August. We made dinner reservations this weekend for 3 nights we are there. is it necessary to make reservations for any of the places for breakfast? Thanks!
John

Welcome Jbayer!

Where are you wanting to eat for breakfast? If you are going in August, it would be better to make reservations for all the ones you want (including breakfasts). You can always cancel if you change your mind when you get there or if you find somewhere else. But the better places definitely book up and there are far fewer places that serve breakfast than those which serve dinner so demand on these restaurants tends to be a bit higher in the mornings.

I am not quite sure. I had been reading reviews for alot of the places here on the boards. I had to agree to "reasonable" breakfasts and lunches since we are doing 3 nice dinners (Wed dinner at Boma, 5:55 Wednesday will be our Animal Kingdom day; Thur. dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse, 8pm which is at the Yacht Club resort; Friday dinner at the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show at 5:15 which is at the Polynesian, where we are staying) We are arriving Sunday 8/8 and leaving Sunday 8/15. We have Sunday (at least dinner, possibly lunch, depending on what flight we get), all of Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and part of Sunday (at least breakfast) to fill in. We were thinking alot of lunches would be at whichever park we go to that day, so for Wednesday I was hoping to try the Tusker House breakfast buffet. Then we'll have lunch somewhere at Animal Kingdom when we get hungry.
We'll have our son with us, who'll be 10 months old when we go. We didn't want to be locked in on too many meals, not knowing what his schedule will be like.

Any suggestions are appreciated. :goodvibes

During busy times, breakfast ADR's go as quickly as any other ADR.

If its late Aug they may have free dining which even tho the parks may be be slow the restaurants will all be packed with people "getting their moneys worth".

Tusker House is definitely ADR material - and sooner rather than later. What about your resort or one easily accessible from your resort? Where are you staying?

An early ADR for Crystal Palace can be made for before Magic Kingdom opens. If your son normally wakes up early, this is a great ADR to have. When the ADR is before park hours, you can walk down a mostly empty Main Street, which makes for great photo opportunities, esp. of Cinderella's Castle.

The food at Crystal Palace, has always been good and we have always had great character interaction with Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger. This meal was the first time our daughter, then 23months old, met characters. She loved it. Fantastic experience all around. It's now a tradition.

All meals at WDW should have reservations unless you want to risk not having a sit down meal when you really want one, time of day doesn't matter.

I always make ADR's for breakfast if we are planning on going to the more popular ones, Cape May, Crystal Palace, Boma's, CRT,etc as they are usually packed. If staying at OKW Olivias was never busy while we were there

We are staying at the Polynesian. I have never been to WDW before, so I am trying to figure out the best options. I am a planner by trade, but my wife made me promise I wouldn't "plan" our schedules for all the meals, since my son's schedule will dictate much of it. LOL Thanks.

Oh my goodness! Prime location for wonderful meals! :thumbsup2 What about Ohana, right there in the Poly? There is also Kona Cafe. Or you could go to Chef Mickey at the Contemporary which is right on the Monorail loop if you would really like a character meal. Then of course, as has been mentioned, there is Crystal Palace which we absolutley love, right there in the MK!

You need to make reservations for all of these though and preferably as soon as possible. They tend to book up months beforehand. Can you try and plan around your son's schedule? I know babies' routines change rapidly in the first year and this will be difficult so I can understand yoru wife's concern, but it would be a shame if you missed out on a place you really like. If you can get one at your resort though, it would mean you weren't tied down as much, as you will be there when you get up every morning anyhow. Beautiful resort, I might add. YOu are going to have a wonderful time!
