I must be missing something. Please help me to understand. I was planning on getting the dining plan for my husband and myself. We have a 17 month old and figured she could just eat off of our plates. I am also currently pregnant and need to eat in the morning so I was planning on packing some granola bars or cereal until we could eat breakfast. With the basic dining plan you get 1 CS (would use it for lunch), 1 TS (would use for dinner) and 1 snack. What do people do for breakfast? Everywhere I looked charged over 18 for a buffet. Can't I just get a breakfast sandwich or a small plate of eggs & toast? If so, where do I get it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure out if the deluxe dining plan would be better!

All the hotels have a food court where you could get a plate for breakfast (eggs, bacon, waffle ect) Or you could get a muffin and juice ect. You can pay out of pocket for these if you choose to... You do not have to pay 18.00/person unless you want to eat at two TS a day (breakfast and dinner). Hope that helps.

Thank you. I figured it would be cheapier to pay OOP for breakfast than anyother meal. Another ? now. Do you think its worth it to pay for a plan for my 17 mo considering its only $10/day? This way she too could get her own lunch, dinnner and snack!

Not all the hotels have a food court. For example, we stay at the BoardWalk, and the only non-sit-down option there is the BoardWalk Bakery.

Juice - orange, apple $1.69-2.39
Egg and Bacon Panini - $5.79
Coffee - regular and decaf $1.89

To get the dining plan for your 17month old, you'd have to say lie and say she is 3. Then, you'd also have to buy a park ticket for her (otherwise she gets in free if under 3). So it is not as simple as paying an extra $10 per day for the meal plan.

Well I dont think you can get your daughter the plan without her being 3. So my suggestions would be to eat at buffets where she can eat whatever she wants off the buffet for free or just pay OOP for a kids meal at your TS. I still think you'd be under 10/day and the CS meals are plenty big enough to sharre with a toddler in my opinion. Have Fun!!

We always pack granola bars and Pop Tarts - personally, I love those "Oatmeal to go" bars by Quaker, which is just a bowl of Oatmeal compressed into a bar. We eat those on the way to the bus stop, I order water to be delivered to the resort.

Then we stop to have an early CS meal - usually about 11am, just after they open up. It also makes it nice because there aren't lines, there are lots of tables open, and it's still really clean in the restaurants.

Thanks for all the great replies. This board is wonderful. I've learned so much!

So true, I felt the same way when I first found these boards and still do today. They are a wealth of information and you can always count on someone knowing the answer to your questions.
:thumbsup2 to the disboards and all it's members.

Disney will allow you to 'age' your child for the DDP, but if you are purchasing a package, it does require the purchase of a child's park ticket. Ths is not cheating, disney allows this.

bicker is right about the food courts, personally, i feel the Epcot resorts have the worst CS options of any of the ares (although I love the resorts here the most)
