Cool I'm so excited!!! And I just can't hide it!  :lmao: :lmao:

I met the Grinch ages ago, like when he first started appearing at Christmastime.

We waited about two hours just to get a picture with him

He yelled at me:sad:

Okay, I'm a geek. I don't have any kids, but I'm insisting that hubby and I book this. I'm still ticked that we never got to do the Simpsons breakfast. We've done many character meals at WDW (my favorite was when Pluto stole my monorail hat and Goofy gave us his restaurant suggestions), but never at USF/IOA.

Do it DO it!!! You know you wanna. You are so not a geek. I just use the kids as an excuse. :lmao:

I've been trying to call Universal for days trying to make a reservation for the Grinchmas breakfast, and I've yet to be able to reach a live person, just a recording to leave my telephone number. Well I've left my telephone number 3 times so far. HELP! How do we make a reservation? We are only 3 weeks away from our big trip, and Disney character breakfasts are totally booked, and I'll be so mad if we can't get a reservation for the Grinchmas. Thanks for any suggestions!

Call: 407-224-4233 Choose option 9 to speak to a guest service coordinator. Let the operator know that you do NOT want to talk to dining even though it is a dining option. Tell her you wish to speak to a Guest service co-ordinator. Once you are talking to the GS coordinator, explain your situation about calling 3 times and no one has called you back. They can make it happen for you.

I wouldn't worry too much as most people just reserve the breakfast the day before the event.

Guest services is open from 9-7 daily.

Thanks for this advice, I'll give it a try today! I would think it would be mobbed during the week of Christmas to New Year's, so that is why we are trying to secure a reservation - We can't get one character meal at any of the Disney resorts, and I've been trying for that for 2 months now!

Did you have any luck? We've just been invited to join some family at their timeshare between Christmas and New Years. I didn't even call for this because I thought it would be sold out long ago like Disney. Please let me know if you were successful!

I just booked today for the 13th and pretty much every time slot was available.

I did have luck making a reservation, but I have to tell you, Universal is not nearly as organized as Disney when it comes to reservations. I had to call 3 times and left messages. Then the voicemail box was full, so I called the customer relations number the previous posted suggested. She was not able to put me through to the right person either. So I called back the original number and actually got a live body, FINALLY. But they were totally confused in trying to tie down a reservation. The hostess mentioned they had been getting calls left and right for Christmas - New Year's week reservations, I made reservations for 12/28 but they only had 3 time slots left to choose from, one being 10:15 a.m., - we hope to be in the park by that time! I'd call to make a reservation if I were you - good luck trying to get through!

I called yesterday around noon Florida time and the phone was answered right away by someone who could take reservations. The number I used was 407-224-4012, given to me by a concierge at the RPR.

We are going on Dec. 27th (my son's 6th b-day). I asked for 9am, but she said they were full and suggested 8:45am with a 15 minute wait. Hum... that would be... 9am, right??? ;)

Ah well, no need for me to be Grinchy about it.

Where do they have Breakfast with the Grinch?( where in the park I mean lol) Never mind, I took my own advice and looked on the Universal site. Confisco Grille for anyone else wondering!

Just got home from the Grinch breakfast and I HIGHLY recommend it! I'll be posting pics. when hubby downloads 'em off the camera, but in the meantime here is a quick report.

We had 9 a.m. ressies and got to the park a little before 9. They weren't letting people in yet and the lines were quite long. We let someone at a turnstyle know we were there for the breakfast and they let us in.

The restaurant was busy but not overly packed. Initially all we saw was the Cat and Things 1 & 2, which worried me. But shortly after we were seated (which was immediate...no wait), they left and the Grinch came out. We hurried up to get our food so we'd be prepared for pics. when they came by. It was a buffet, neither great nor terrible, with things like waffles, french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, a variety of muffins (which were delicious), star-shaped tater tots, and Green Eggs & Ham sandwiches.

We were sitting where the Whos come out, so both of them stopped right away for photos with us. One of them said her name was Winnie the Who :rotfl:

The Grinch started out in our part of the restaurant. One table monopolized him for a long time, but after that he came over to ours. He is a riot!! He's in Bad Grinch character, so of course he was cranky and crabby which we loved. He spent a while bantering with us and then posed for pics. The breakfast was definitely worth it just to meet him.

It looked like he went around to tables until it got crowded, and then he seemed to be taking pics. towards the front of the restaurant...not sure if it was with specific tables or with people as they came in. Once the park gates opened, the crowd grew tremendously and there was a long line to get in.

We were there maybe half an hour. Service was good, i.e. our drinks were kept filled and our server stopped by several times to see if we needed anything. They put on an 18 percent autogratuity and even tho' it's a buffet I didn't mind because of the attentiveness.

It was definitely less controlled than a Disney character meal, i.e. I saw more of other families trying to horn in when the Grinch was at another table than I do it WDW. But it wasn't really bad, and I felt like we got some great quality character interaction time.

As we were leaving, the Cat and the Things were returning so they must do half hour sets. It would be a bummer to eat fast and miss the Grinch...I was glad our timing turned out just right. We didn't try to get pics. with the others because we were there specifically for the Grinch and Whos.

9 a.m. seemed to be the perfect time. You get in early enough to miss the mass of humanity, and if the set times are always the same, you get to see the Grinch from the beginning of his set. It looked much crazier as we were leaving. I imagine he's out at 8 too when it opens but that was too early for us.

Photos to follow!

How many people were in your party? Just wondering what to expect...is it a number thing where if you have more than six they automatically add gratuity.

There were only two of us (DH and myself). We did use the premier pass discount...not sure if that was why or if they just do it at this particular event.
