I am trying to decide which of these breakfast meals would work best for my family. I have heard great things about the Minnie breakfast, haven't heard much about the Mickey & Friends one. I have three kids ages 7, 5, and 3. We have done Goofy's Kitchen a few times and would like to try something new.

Can anyone who has been to both give me a comparison? Also, does the Minnie breakfast open at the same time as the park, or can you get in early to eat?

Thanks so much for any help.:goodvibes

I've been to both... they are very different from eachother IMO... Mickey's is much more laid back and quiet. They do some fun things with the kids up front... hula hooping and surfing, and I really liked their food. Minnie's seems chaotic to me, which is probably just because there seemed to be so many more people... and more characters too. The food was good, but seemed more cafeteria style to me. They are both buffets, but I think Mickey's is presented better. If I had to choose one, I would choose Mickeys.

Have not done Minnies but we loved Mickey's! So MUCH interaction. I had to entertain Minnie for while since she just hung out at my table while DS and DH were getting food. Plenty of time with characters and food was decent.

I just posted on another thread but will respond here too....

if your goal is to see LOTS of characters really, really fast Minnie and Friends is the one for you. Its in the park and you can get in an hour before opening and there are lots of characters. The trade off is food that really isn't very good. There's not much selection, everything is a little greasy and they could really use some more fruit. Plus you really need someone to stay at the table with the kids while someone else goes to get the food cuz the wait for omelettes and the serving of the hot foods is very slow. Its a trade off. We've done Minnie's maybe 5 times and all but the last have been overall successful. The last time was actually awful (the characters kept skipping our table, minnie came and tried to leave in like 5 secs and we had to practically beg to get a pic with my friend's son for his birthday, etc) but I'm just going to chalk it up to an off day.

Surf's Up with Mickey is less frantic and crowded and the food is by far better as far as quality and selection. Plus the character interaction is great!! The characters really play with the kids doing hula hoop and dancing. Its fun. But, its ouside the park so not as convenient and there are only --I think-- 4 characters there. They are dressed in swim wear which is super cute though!

Whichever you choose it will be fun but they're very different experiences.

Minnies has way more characters. But the only place I have ever seen Daisy is at Mickey's.

My kids like seeing lots of characters, but the interaction is great at Surfs Up.

The fact that they invite kids up to dance and surf is a big win for us, but we like Minnies because its in the park. We ended up doing Surfs up last time just because we were staying at PPH.

I really liked the food at Minnie's when we went. :confused3 I will agree that you see a boatload of characters. It does get a little tough to go get more food because there are so many but if you have two adults, it shouldn't be too tough.

But I can't speak for Surf's Up because I haven't gone. :goodvibes

I have not yet been to Minnie & Friends, but have been to Surf's Up twice and we LOVE it!! The interaction in with the characters is great. We have always seen five characters there. The last time we saw: Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Stitch and Daisy. What I like is that we can see four of the main Disney characters here. The food was outstanding with plenty of selection and no waiting. My kids like the interaction they have with the surfing lessons and dancing. Highly reccommend!

Been to both and I agree with all previous comments.
Mickey surfs up is a fair distance from the main gate. So that may be a factor. Minnie is right inside so no "travel time"

My boys loved seeing Stitch and surfing and arcing. Interaction is similar to Goofys. Minnie's has Pooh and Eyore and Hook etc. but has no "games"

I felt like Minnie's was more "authentic Disney". If that makes sense? The location is so neat right inside the elaborate Cafe.

Both are definitely worth the $.

Haven't been to Mickey but we kind of accidentally ended up at Minnie and Friends last trip and had a great time. We enjoyed the food but we're big on eggs and bacon and sausage so it was right up our alley. A little heave on the grease, but there was also some nice fruit and waffles and I've never seen chilaquiles in a theme park before! Not bad, either! Aside from getting scolded soundly by a chipmunk, it was awesome. :rotfl2: (Actually, the chipmunk scolding was pretty funny too.)

I have been to both more times to Minnie's, but we did Surf's Up last year (to get a Disney fix after Legoland and Sea World.

My experience the characters at Minnie's will interact with each other. Capt. Hook taking food, balloons, etc...which is really unique to see.

Surf's Up: We got there too late to see the surfing and dancing, but I am hoping my son will partake in it.

We are doing Surf's Up on the day we drive home and Minnie's this trip. I will be able to compare both after we get back.
