Hello, I am staying at Wilderness Lodge. If I booked a 7am ressie at Chef Mickeys, is my only option at that time of morning to call a taxi, or is there any transport running then?

There are buses that run from the resorts at that time of the morning. They start around 6.15. They are not as regular as they are just prior to, during and after park operating hours so you want to try not to miss one as there will be a fair wait for the next.

Opinions/approaches on this are divided and many prefer to use a taxi. We found we were just fine with the buses. We have done a 7.05 am ressie at CM and got there a good half hour early. We had allowed time to walk or take a monorail (not sure if the monorails run this early nowdays) from MK to the Contemporary but seeing as all the guests on the bus were headed for a breakfast, the bus driver drove us right to CR.

That's great to know thanks, where were you staying that time and what time did you go out to wait for the bus. Was thinking we might do it on first morning as we will be up bright and early!

We've done it from ASMu and from POFQ

We have typically always booked the earliest breakfast ressies possible with very few exceptions of the other extreme of going for the last seating.

What we did was to stop at the front desk the night before and confirm what time the buses started running. Even though the answer was what we expected, around 6.15 am, it is nice to have the reassurance of a recent update.

We tried to be out there around 6.10 am and I dont' recall the bus ever arriving bang on 6.15 but within 5 - 15 minutes we were on our way.

I would book a 7.15 ressie and catch the boat The blue flag launches run from 6.45am - they have 2 boats running and they do a loop. One goes CR-FW-WL-CR and the other goes in reverse CR-WL-FW-CR. from WL get on whichever boat arrives first as they leave and arrive at the CRat the same time.

Just to add we've done chef mickey's twice at 7am and have another adr for the same time this year.

Food is lovely and fresh and it isn't noisy or busy - always had good character interaction.
