Hi everyone. Any suggestions of where to do breakfast the day we go to DHS? We'll be staying at the Grand Floridian, and will have had breakfast a few times at the Grand Floridian Cafe and plan on doing 1900 Park Fare when we leave.

If you want something quick then after getting your first rides of the day/FP have a break at Starring Rolls. If you want to arrive early enough you could head over to the Boardwalk and get something from the Boardwalk Bakery. I believe inside the park your choices are H&V (TS but I don't reccomend it based on my eating there) or ABC Commisary and Starring Rolls for counter service breakfasts.

Yeah, after reading many bad H&V reviews, i think we will be staying away from there. Thank you for your suggestions--I hadn't thought about the Boardwalk Bakery.

If you have young children....

The Hollywood and Vine breakfast is good. It's the lunch and dinner food that is NOT good. And the character interaction is very nice -- DS loved dancing with Oso and Handy Manny to Playhouse Disney Musice. A review and video of the dancing is part of my 12/2010 review (link below). If HS opens at 9am, you can book an 8am breakfast and get some photos in the park (hat in background) without crowds of people also in the photo.

Another character option is Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. You get Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in beach attire... And this is probably the best breakfast buffet I've ever been too. Everything was absolutely delicious! Pictures of that in my review too. Then you can take the boat right from there to Hollywood Studios. Cape May Cafe opens at 7:30am... so if you're an early bird, you could be done by 8:30am and still get to HS close to 9am.

Ohana breakfast on your plan? I don't like the Ohana dinner at all but we had great fun with Lilo, Stitch, Pluto and Mickey. I think it opens early too at 7:30am.

I booked H & V for my HS day. My son could care less about the characters but I wanted a way to get in the park before rope drop. My goal is to have a nice quick breakfast at 8:00 and get the first fast passes at 9 for TSM before riding it w/o a line.

Thank you DisneyFamily123. My daughter is 5, so a character meal is an option. I will look into both Cape May Cafe and Ohana.

MickeyNicki we will be doing Kona earlier in the week.

thank you everyone for your suggestions, it's so helpful. My husband isn't really into planning where we are eating 6 months out and every time i try to get his input, he looks at me like i'm crazy.:confused3 You guys have been a lifesaver!

I recently stayed at the Boardwalk Inn and had breakfast at Kouzzina. It was delicious. I also wanted a quick breakfast one morning and got the ham, egg and cheese croissant from the Boardwalk Bakery. I got it to go and then sat at the turnstile at DHS and ate it while I waited for them to open the gates.

Sorry for going a little off-topic, but I wanted to clarify something. And please, someone who's been there more recently correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm pretty sure folks who eat at H&V pre-rope drop don't get any real advantage over the mass of humanity that awaits the starter's gun to "walk briskly" to TSM to ride/get fastpasses. We had an 8:00 am H&V reservation a couple years ago and our options once we finished eating and before rope drop were to either join everyone on Hollywood Blvd or wait at a more secluded rope more or less in front of the H&V entrance. The problem with this second rope is that it is slightly further away from TSM compared to the "main" rope, so you will start off at a disadvantage if your goal is to be the first person to hit the TSM fastpass machines. Of course you will be relatively closer to the main rope when exiting H&V compared to someone who arrived at DHS at the same time you leave the restaurant, so maybe that's advantage enough.
