Not very interested in characters since DS is 22 but interested in a nice atmosphere and good or at least decent food. Will not be inside a park as not willing to waste a ticket just for breakfast. Staying at POFQ but have a car.

Did I err in my question somehow? I see there are 64 view of this but not a single suggestion.

We like Captain's Grille for a non-character breakfast. They have a buffet, but you can also order off the menu if you don't want to do the buffet. It never seems busy there, just nice and relaxing.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora at the Boardwalk has a great breakfast. Enjoy!!

has a very good breakfast. It can be a lengthy commute without a car.

A little more convenient would be Kona Cafe at the Poly or The Wave at the Contemporary.

I second all of these suggestions and they are all in fun, interesting places! YC, Boardwalk, Poly or CR - what a great way to end your trip! Why not check the menus on all ears.com to see what appeals to you as the food will vary a bit with each of these.

Boma (no characters) or Cape May (characters in beach wear, but gets great reviews for the food and service).

Kona Cafe if you are not looking for a buffet.

I second the nomination for the Wave at CR. It has really yummy food that is very different from any of the other restaurants at WDW.

I second this. Ate there on my last trip and it was wonderful. Really good coffee, too. :thumbsup2

For my upcoming trip I decided to try The Wave... at CR. The menu looks really good, and I've heard a lot of good things about it. :goodvibes

We loved Grand Floridian Cafe for breakfast. Service was great, not at all rushed. And the food was delicious. Loved the French Toast.

We went to the Garden Grove breakfast buffet at the Swan a few weeks ago. It was delicious and they gave us 20% off when I showed my AAA card! The buffet was great, but you could also order from the menu.

Kona cafe is pretty awesome for breakfast, though if it were up to us, Ohana is the way to go, even if you don't have much interest in the characters.

Olivia's is always our last day breakfast before we hit the road. The atmosphere and staff are great. They have a unique selection of menu items.

Kona is great - we parked at TTC and took the monorail just so it felt like Disney before we finally had to leave!!!

Boma at AKL, Kona at Poly & Captain's Grille at YC are our must-do's each trip!

Thank you for all those suggestions and the suggestion to check the menus first. I am planning to do that. We do have a car to use if needed.

Olivia's at OKW also has a nice breakfast.

I second this. It would also be a quick trip from POFQ. Depending on the time, you may even be able to utilize the boats.

We also like Kona and my friend swears by the eggs benedict at Grand Floridian Cafe.

We went to Boma this year. DH's first response when he walked in was "we're eating a buffett?" (not a buffett fan). It wasn't long before he and our teenagers were singing praises and DH even said it was so good he would consider coming back for dinner one trip - then he and I went back for more! And AKL is beautiful!

I was able to get a 10:30 reservation at Boma for 1/18/12. I noticed the (listed) breakfast hours end at 11:00. Will they be grabbing up all the food promptly at 11:00 or how does it work near the end of the time? I would like to be leisurely and stay for about an hour or so.

Good job! I know you will love it. :thumbsup2
No, they won't clear the food at 11:00. Be sure to ask if everything will be available on the buffet, for as long as you are eating, just in case.

If you are a coffee lover, try their pot of pressed coffee. It's awesome! Also, don't plan on eating lunch, you will be full till dinnertime!

You can ask the CM's about dishes that are unfamiliar to you. Be adventurous, everything is delicious.

Allow a little extra time to tour the AKL and to see their savannah viewing area. I love the whole vibe there, the smells, the sounds, the CM's, everything is great.

Enjoy! :)
