Hi Everyone,

I hope this is an appropriate place for this thread.

I'm hoping to find out what the best breakfast/brunch places are in DLR or the surrounding area.

Would really appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Many people love the Steakhouse 55 breakfast, although I have never done it, as I have 2 kids who would not sit for a breakfast when we could be in the park! So, while 'best breakfast' is subjective as many people have different goals - we love the breakfast at Flo's, AFTER we have ridden a bunch in DCA. Both the french toast and tamale scramble are our favorites. If you want character breakfasts. there are Goofy's Kitchen, Storyteller's, Ariel's Grotto and the Plaza Inn with Minnie and Friends. Not many people would call them the 'best breakfast' options at the DLR unless meeting characters is your goal.

I believe that Ralph Brennan's and the House of Blues both have Sunday brunches as well.

I normally just grab something in my room that I brought or at Starbucks, however I do have two favorites when I do eat at the resort. One is the breakfast burrito and chickory coffee at Jazz Kitchen Express and the other is the breakfast tamale at Flo'd in DCA!!

We really like the Storyteller's buffet. There isn't a huge variety, but it's all really good. Much better quality than the other buffet choices. If you're looking for something quicker, we do the Cozy Cones. Yummy bacon scramble or salsa verde scramble.

Carnation Café on Main Street has a great breakfast. It's a small place, so be sure to have reservations. When we were there last year they weren't taking any walk-ups, even for a waitlist. We had reservations and got right in.

Riverbelle Terrace for some authentic Mickey shaped pancakes and hot cocoa?

If you want a quick breakfast in the parks, I'm a fan of the French toast at Flo's in DCA. It is not terribly expensive compared to other food options overall, and one of my must haves on each trip!

What about quick breakfast ideas if you are staying on site before going into the parks? I hate to waste my valuable non-crowded morning time eating breakfast in the park, but have to have something to hold me over until lunch time. I usually have bananas and bagel/cream cheese in the room but that gets old after a few days.

Jazz Kitchen Express is a great pre-park quick breakfast, especially if you like Beignets. Also, there are pastry carts in CA and in DL where you can grab a croissant or something when you get there and then just eat it on the go. We were there last week, and DD and I discovered that Churros actually make a great breakfast food. If we weren't doing a TS breakfast, we just stopped at the Churro cart by the castle first thing in the morning and ate it as we walked to whatever we wanted to do first. I'm pretty sure that is going to be our new go to quick breakfast at DLR. DH isn't a churro fan, so he headed off to the pastry cart on the other side of the hub for a chocolate croissant.

As far as in park breakfasts, if you like characters, Minnie's is our absolute favorite. We love the large amount of characters and the variety of characters. We also did Ariel's Grotto breakfast last week for the first time (we have always done lunch there in the past, but do not like the lunch food since the menu change last year) and we thought the food there was great!

Both my faves are in DCA. Flos has great location and the banana french toast is amazing! Very sweet though. We got that and an American real fast (eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuit) and shared it all.

Other is at the Pacific wharf cafe (next to sourdough bread place). Croissant sandwich and the sourdough bread bowl with eggs cheese and bacon are spectacular. About $6. Man I can't wait to go back and eat.

La Brea Bakery has breakfast, take out and sit down. There is Denny's and there are 2 IHOPs across the street on Harbor. Love S55 for breakfast. There is a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Katella, on the ground floor of the Springhill Suites. Mimi's can be fun for breakfast, too.
