I love this recipe from Paula Deen. We get the ingredients on sale and it is a huge hit with our family.

Piggy Pudding

16 link pork sausages
4 to 5 tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 (7 1/2-ounce) package yellow cornbread mix, batter prepared according to package directions
1 cup maple syrup, for serving
Fresh sage, for garnish
Directions
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Cook sausages in a skillet until done, piercing with a fork to let out fat. Drain and then arrange in a 9-inch square baking dish. Layer sliced apples on top. Pour corn bread batter over all and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until corn bread is done. Serve with warm maple syrup and garnish with sage.

Thank you for posting these recipes. They all sound great and will be great for my MOPS meetings.

We are in the middle of moving...that's my excuse for not posting the exact recipe! Sorry. But the idea is from the Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cookbook. Steel cut oats in your crock pot. They cook over night and are ready in the morning. You add your choice of dried fruit/apples and evaporated milk. It's creamy and wonderful. Provide some cold milk to pour over it. It's such a wonderful healthy alternative for those that are trying to eat healthy. It's creamy and sweet and wonderful and very budget and time/effort friendly!:thumbsup2

Sausage and Cream Cheese Bake (this is a hit every time I make it)

Ingredients:

2 cans of crescent rolls
1 pkg of cream cheese
1 lbs. of breakfast sausage (I've even made this healthier by using ground chicken/turkey breast and adding sausage seasoning)
shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brown sausage and drain fat. Mix with cream cheese. In a non-stick sprayed 9"X13" pan unroll one of the cans of crescent rolls leaving them attached in a sheet. Evenly spread sausage/cream cheese mixture on crescent rolls (unbaked). Layer the other can of crescent rolls on top. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown. The cheese is optional and I usually sprinkle it on top for the last 5 minutes or so. You can also put anything else you want inside, sometimes I cook diced onions with the sausage. Can be served warm or room temp.

These are the best cinnamon rolls -- better than Cinnabon, and very easy!

Cinnamon Rolls

1 1-lb. loaf frozen bread dough
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1½ T. ground cinnamon
4 T. butter or margarine
2 T cream cheese, softened
2 T butter, softened
3/4 c. confectioners' sugar
1/4 t. vanilla extract
1/8 t. salt

Mix cinnamon and brown sugar in a bowl. Set aside. Roll dough into about a 10 X 14 inch rectangle. Spread dough with 4 T. butter and sprinkle evenly with sugar/cinnamon mixture.

Roll up dough and cut into 8 rolls. Place rolls in a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes (or you can cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight – remove from fridge in the morning and then allow to rise).

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Bake rolls in preheated oven until golden brown, about 15 minutes. While rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese, 2 T butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla extract and salt. Spread frosting on warm rolls before serving.
