:smooth: I need ideas for breakfast while at Asm if one of the kids needs to have a hot breakfask in the morning. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!What are the prices like at the food court for oatmeal or eggs. Are they reasonable??. :Pinkbounc

We get the kids platters (hubby and I are not big breakfast eaters), and it's about $3.75. We get scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, fried potatoes, and ask them to substitute the biscuit for a piece of French toast (didn't have FT last visit). We usually buy bread in the store downtown, or at POR, and make toast in the food court. When we want hot cereal, we bring it and put the hot tea water in it..or heat in microwave. Here is the menu for the All stars:

I buy my juice for I believe $1.50 if I want juice.

It depends on what you consider "reasonable", but I found the food court to be overpriced. If I were on a budget, I would pack food and bring it into the food court to heat up. They have a couple of toasters in there and you could heat up poptarts and any other kind of toaster pastry you might choose. The toasters are the conveyor belt kind that dump your item down a chute, so they are not appropriate for something like cheese broiled on bread (where the topping could slide off), but they are fine for everything else.

The fruit is particularly outrageously priced, as is the bread for toast, so I would bring your own if you tend to eat that kind of thing. I bring my own oatmeal (or other hot cereal -- like DMRick!) and add the boiling water for tea, which is dispensed at the beverage counter outside of the cash registers. The toasters are outside of the cash registers, too, so if you bring your own stuff you won't have to take it past the cashiers and try and explain that it's yours and not theirs!

All the drinks are pretty expensive, too, and I usually bring my own in a small cooler which I keep in my room, then keep them cool with ice from the machines near the staircases.

Do check out the gift shop, if you intend to buy juice or milk. The gift shop, in my experience, is a good deal cheaper than the food court for certain items.

We have stayed at all star sports twice. Best advice is dont let eyes get bigger than stomach, then it wont be so bad. Also if you are going to be there for a few days, get a refillable mug. Its a little pricey to start with but you can really take advantage of it in long run. Mugs are made for hot and cold beverages, make a good reusable souvenir( take it back on next trip) and they can be used any time of day at resort. That IMHO is one of the best ways to save $$ but get it 1st day there.

Haven't been to all star in over 8 years, but my mouth still waters at the thought of those cinnamon sticky buns....wonder if they are still as good?? :p
