I would like to know how you arrange your breakfast and lunch time. :)

1. What time usually the cruise arrive the port and let us get off the ship on Castaway Cay and Nassau?

2. If I finish breakfast and get off the ship, stay on shore for awhile and then I need to hurry back to the ship for lunch and back to the shore? (I feel I will be rushing between the cruise and the shore.)

3. I know the land/sea package include all meals. If I don't eat on the cruise, I need to pay separately if I dine on shore? In other words, the package doesn't cover any food/drink on shore, right?

4. Any good restaurants (for 2 adults) you recommend? Price range?

Thanks

Hi Snoopy - I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the BBQ and things on Castaway Cay are included in your cruise meals. I think it's just drinks you still have to pay for.

On Castaway Cay your meals are included, in Nassau they would not be. At Castaway Cay you can either eat on the island or back on the ship at Parrot Cay. On the island you have the choice of Cookie's BBQ, near the family beach, or another location near the adult beach.

You do not need to make specific breakfast or lunch plans...you just show up at the restaurant of your choice when you are ready to eat. Dinner is the only meal with set times and dining rotations.

We have always had breakfast and then gone into port, returning to the ship for lunch. Then, if we wanted to go back into town we could do that after lunch. On those occasions when we have been on an excursion that lasted over lunch time we'd either bring something with us from the ship or buy lunch where we were.

Hope that helps.

You just have to pay for the Alcoholic drinks or any drinks at the bar.. Soda and other beverages are included.

On both St. Thomas and St. Maarten, we had breakfast on the ship, went on excursions that brought us back near the ship, went on board and had a late lunch (like 1:30) and then went ashore and did some shopping. On St. Maarten, we were really lazy and took a nap after lunch and then went ashore for shopping near the ship. On St. Thomas, the ship departs earlier so DH did the nap while DD and I shopped. We just decided to act like old fogies and get our rest. We were on VACATION.

You can do the same in Nassau if you want.

Your lunches on castaway cay are included in your cruise.

If you want to eat of the ship in Nassau..(we did) then you pay yourself. I can recommend Conch Fritters, very close to the dock, about a block from the straw market. Great food, nice atmosphere. We also got a great afternoon snack at the filipino restaurant right to the left of the straw market as you approach it. Also excellent..we only noticed it on our way back to the ship and just had to stop. If we would have noticed it before...we would have eaten even more..lol. It was delicious. There is also a Senor Frogs and a Hard Rock Cafe.

If you don't want to eat at Nassau..you just head back to the ship for lunch. The restaurant times will be posted in the navigator you get the night before.

We are breakfast people..so we were always at the buffet when the doors opened in the morning to have breakfast. Never went back to the ship for lunch when we were in port. Dinner either, if it was a long day.

3. I know the land/sea package include all meals.

Cute Snoopy....in regards to #3 in your post....FYI...on the land/sea package your meals on land (WDW) are NOT INCLUDED in the package price. Your hotel at WDW and your park tickets are....but meals ARE NOT!!! I always recommend doing 3 day land/4 day sea because this way you are getting another days meals included in the price (on the ship). If you do 4 days land/3 days sea then you are paying for 4 days of meals at WDW and we all know that can be expensive.

At Castaway Cay you will having your breakfast on the ship....the ship usually gets to CC around 8:00 ish with the all clear to go ashore around 9:00 ish.

DCL provides a a full lunch buffet with ribs, chicken, salads, fresh fruit, cookies, potato chips, burgers, hot dogs....I would say 90% of guests stay on the island for lunch but you are certainly welcome to go back to the ship and eat if you choose.

When on our last RC cruise, DH & I brought along a collapsible cooler. When we didn't want to come back to the ship for meals, we simply brought it along w/soda/water and some sandwiches from the cafe promenade. We packed some zip lock baggies in our suitcase expressly for this purpose. We brought some soda/water onboard we picked up at a store near port. And, our room steward kept our cooler full of ice every day. Who has time for restaurants when there is so much island to see?

Is there somewhere on Disney ships to get a sandwich to go? Or can you just order it from room service?
