Breakfast in the Parks for Rope Drop/Early Entry

We're driving, so I'm positive we will bring snacks for our room, like granola bars, mini muffin pouches, etc. If anyone feels like they can't hang for a couple of hours, they can stash something in their park bags. My girls are 13 and 14, so it's a little easier than having little ones, which will hopefully help.

That’s a great plan. That’s what we do if someone says they aren’t feeling hungry just yet and skips breakfast.

You can bring in anything except booze and loose ice in a cooler, so long as you don't have anything in glass containers.

For as long as they keep doing rope drops and early entry in the 7:00-8:30 range, that "get to hotel QS right at 7" trick isn't going to work anymore, as you will totally miss rope drop.

Does anyone know if any of these places that will get you an inside the park breakfast have any options that are vegan/gluten free? (we're actually needing egg/dairy/wheat - but usually those end up being the same at breakfast)

Forget having breakfast at your resort and getting to the parks for rope drop. Unless it's changed in recent weeks the food courts at the value resorts didn't open until 7am and if you wanted to eat there and get to the parks before rope drop it was a case of grab n go a pastry and coffee before joining the long, long line for transportation.
We had a light breakfast early in the room and had something more substantial after getting some rides in.
I want to recommend the Blueberry waffles (available until 11am) at Hollywood Scoops on Sunset Boulevard in DHS and Sleepy Hollow's fruit and Nutella waffles in MK.

Yep, didn't the QS at the resorts used to open at 6 a.m.? I was surprised when I was there in December and nothing opened early enough for rope drop.

The issue is two fold, first, they used to open QS earlier and where they didn't there were grab and go items available along with mug refills being open. Then they also opened the parks later in general. Holiday hours would get extra early, but for the most part parks opened at 9 or 8 for extra magic hours- but that wasn't every park every day.

I "rope dropped" for the only 2 times in my life last year on Halloween weekend, and I thought the fact that they let people through the gate of the park early made the whole thing very easy and a much nicer experience than I was anticipating.

I felt good walking up at 8:30, walking right in, and going wherever I wanted.

I'm a newbie to rope dropping I guess, so I'm not sure what I missed by not being literally the first one through the gate, but I hopped right on to pretty much any ride I wanted to and had a very pleasant time.

The people who are technically let into the park ahead of the 8:30 time aren't actually allowed to go anywhere. They're just waiting around longer. Or at least that's what I observed. I may be wrong!

We arrive at the bus stop with our breakfast stuff and eat while waiting for the bus. Usually coffee/water, granola bars, cereal bars, pop tarts and a banana. Anything we don’t finish before the bus arrives gets tossed in the backpacks for later. Kids call it the Disney picnic.

We couldn't understand it either. Not even able to get a coffee and a pastry. There are far too many changes that make no sense.

Breakfast is a bit rough if you want to do a serious rope drop. We usually have a granola bar or yogurt in the room, then run to catch the first bus. In my opinion, you can do one or the other well. Either do rope drop with the intention of being at the front of the pack, or eat a good breakfast. I blow past those people waiting for coffees and walk on my first ride (always the headliner). On the flip side of that, I've logged a few rides by 10:30 and eat an early lunch--again not a lot of competition for lunch food at that time. I save my nice breakfast reservations--like Topolino's for break days.

Check the Disney website by going into the dining part of it, put the filters on Magic Kingdom and quick service and you can check the menus, they will give all the vegan/gluten free options

When we were there in March we were at the parks by 7.30 only MK directed us to one side, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland, they opened around 8.30 for rides, but, the rest of the park was not open to us until general park opening, which disappointed us, however we did get to go on HM with no line. We didn't do AK in the morning, but, EPCOT appeared to be completely open at 8am, we rode Ratatouille with no line and then took a lovely stroll around WS, we were disappointed to find Les Halles not open as we'd planned a breakfast there, but, by the time we took advantage of an empty WS for lots of photos with no one else in them and arrived at Norway their bakery was open so we had our breakfast pastries and coffee there. GE was open for early hours, but, Toy Story land rides weren't.

I don't know that this has ever worked- You can look up the items for a wheat allergy, and the items for a dairy allergy, and the items for an egg allergy but they do not combine those categories. It is been true for many years that the items for a wheat allergy all include egg, But you have no way to know that until you are in person there to check their ingredient lists.
The last time they tried to put out a list that combined allergens was I think around 2015.
