What kind of foods do you eat before you go to the parks? Besides the continental breakfasts some hotels supply, I'd rather eat breakfast in my room. Something that will fill us up till we have lunch. It's just me and hubby going this time, at Christmastime :cool1:

A few ideas I had, include : bagels and cream cheese, assorted fruit, big muffins (like from costco) oatmeal and yogurt w/granola. They ARE good breakfast choices, however, not super filling ones (IMHO)

Any other suggestions? Thank you so much :goodvibes

You need something with protein in it to make you full. We always bring hard boiled eggs but we drive so we can do that. Putting two tablespoons of peanut butter on anything is helpful.

Oh, yes. I had peanut butter written down too ( too many random Disney notes around the house) :lmao:

We drive down to Disneyland from Oregon, but hubby doesn't like eggs, so don't want to boil eggs just for me. I do love them though....

Will you have a fridge and microwave in the room?
We bought breakfast croissant sandwiches and ate those. I also like oatmeal, and I'll add some almond butter or peanut butter for protein.

Because you'll have a fridge and micro, how about pre-cooked bacon and bagels? You could add some cheese and eggs to yours, just cheese for your DH. We also like peanut butter, nuts, granola, yogurt. You could pre-make pancakes and reheat. I am always surprised how well they reheat. We also aren't opposed to non breakfast foods for breakfast. Nothing screams vacation like cold pizza. :lovestruc :rotfl2:

We have had cold pizza HUNDREDS of time for breakfast :rotfl: Nothing wrong with that!!!!

I love the idea of breakfast sandwiches! Never would have thought of it!!

I am happy to see this post cold pizza will be one of our go to's. But i like the other idea ill write hem down.

If you have a microwave, Tupperware makes an awesome breakfast maker. 2 eggs and some cheese for 2 minutes and a great omelette!

You can buy pre-cooked hard boiled eggs at most grocery stores. Also put nut butters on your toast for more protein. Or with a micro, you could also buy pre-made, frozen breakfast sandwiches.

My go to breakfast is half an apple with almond butter (or handful of almonds). I do pretty intense crossfit workouts 5-6 mornings a week and I eat this every morning prior. It fuels my body adequately and appropriately and is a good/fast combination of sugars/carbs and protein.

Plus, at Disneyland if you get hungry I'm sure there's an enchanted Snack a few steps away!

When we bring our own breakfast we usually go with beef jerky, nuts and a fruit or veggie(apples, apple sauce, carrots etc).

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!!

After thinking about this all, we will probably eat something small and still eat at Disneyland lol...or not eat breakfast at the hotel at all! Who am I kidding? Everything smells good at Disneyland! !

We are, however, going to try places we haven't gotten to eat at with the PICKY kids! Seriously, I thought kids got less picky as they got older! Mine are 18 and 16 and don't eat anything besides "hamburger with cheese" (no, not a cheeseburger *rolls eyes*) and chicken strips!

Can't wait to go with JUST hubby!!

If you're bringing your own toaster, maybe waffles with peanut butter and banana slices? Am I the only one who likes this?? I like the idea of cold pizza too. :)

We're big greek yogurt eaters around here too. Protein bars are always an easy grab-n-go breakfast with some fruit. I buy the go-go squeeze fruit pouches for my son, but lately, I've found myself eating them when I'm in a hurry! If you'll have a microwave, there are tons of frozen breakfast options that you can heat up.

We love stopping at Whole Foods which is only 15mins away. (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/newport) and getting the FRESH peanut or almond butter that you grind in the machine right there! :)

Then we get fresh bread/individual bagels at their bakery for the next morning. My husband also gets some sort of breakfast egg wrap to save from the sandwich counter.

I'm a "savory" eater so I like to get an avocado and their packaged proscuitto and add that to bread in the am.

The fun part of that WF is you park in the parking structure and they use a golf cart to drive you to and from the store...my daughter LOVES it! :hyper:

It's also a great place to grab your water, local yogurt, healthy granola bars, crackers, etc. to bring into DLR.

If we fly we get the Von's delivery and they WILL deliver fresh bread if you order it for your hotel delivery...I have a coupon for free delivery right now that we aren't using if you decide to do that and want it.

Have fun!!! :yay:

I always bring instant oatmeal in assorted flavors for me and my wife. Whether there's a microwave or coffee maker, this is doable. And oatmeal tends to stick around in the stomach. We also bring crunchy granola bars and lots of bananas.

For the kids, it's not a Disney trip unless they're eating powdered donuts every morning.

We have never eaten any meals in our room because I refuse to do any kind of meal prep or cleaning when I am on vacation. I do sometimes get a pastry from the bakery the night before and have it the next morning.
We are usually too excited about getting to the park to think about eating.

DH and I went back in Feb for our anniversary without kids and had the best time ever!! In fact, he just asked me a couple nights ago when we were going to do that again. lol

I agree on the greek yogurt. But you have to watch the grams of protein on that. Some are higher than others and the higher the protein, the longer you will feel full. DH likes to get a turkey leg in the park and put it in a ziploc to take back to hotel fridge. He eats on that for a couple days.

We have never had breakfast in the park and one morning we went and ate at the French Market. It was so relaxing to sit and eat and watch all the people scurrying on to the next ride.

Have a great trip! We really enjoyed ourselves getting to do what WE wanted to do and eating where WE wanted to eat!
