Breakfast Ideas -- Staying at CSR

We'll be at CSR for 13 nights in August. I was looking at the Pepper Market's menu/prices for breakfast and think they're a little overpriced. (example: 2 bottles of apple juice @ 2.99 + tax & tip x 13 nights = $106 just for apple juice). In addition, we like to be "in and out" for breakfast so we can get to the parks before RD. We'll give the PM a try but I'd like to have a back up plan in case we're not happy with it. Is there another resort nearby (walking distance) where we can eat breakfast or does anyone have any ideas to share. (DD does not like cereal.)

Are you on the dining plan? If so, you can get a waffle and drink (example) for breakfast at the Pepper Market. We usually only do one breakfast and one lunch at Pepper Market which is where we will be staying for the 7th time this September. If we don't have a breakfast ADR somewhere, I usually grab a coffee for DH at the Pepper Market and a box of cereal/milk in the little store (he has to eat something with his pill in the morning). I grab a cappucino and then bring it all back to the room while DH is finished getting ready (I always get up first). There is no resort within walking distance of CSR.

We just got back from CSR and did not care for the Pepper Market at all. Overpriced and since it was me, my husband, a 4 year old, and 1 year old, he ended up sitting down with them at the table and I had to go get food for all 4 of us. With different stations to go to it took forever. I felt I worked very hard for my meal! We ended up eating fruit in the morning before we left and eating an early lunch at the parks around 10:30-11:00 each day. This worked best for us. There are not any resorts close by to eat breakfast at. There is a McDonalds just down the street if you have a car.

There are no resorts or parks within walking distance of Coronado Springs. In addition, you'll probably find similar pricing all over the WDW property.

You can order some things like juice, milk, water, yogurt, cereal and fruit from a supermarket and have it delivered to your room. That's what we do! I order some breakfast and snack foods. We usually go for 10 days and eat breakfast in our room except for a few days we will eat breakfast out. It's cheaper to eat in our room.

We were on the dining plan and not happy with breakfast at Pepper Market ever. It was always a fiasco using credits. One morning a manager physically blocked me from the pastries and said in a realy snotty tone "Those are not included" I knew that and was going to pay for them, but she didn't even ask if we were on the dining plan. I had to argue with her for a minute before she would let me order one. The other crappy thing that happened is I love the made to order omeletss and was surprised to have the guy dump french fries on my plate. He told me that breakfast was ending soon and it was a waste to make more potatoes. Some people let us get a juice, others didn't. The only way I can describe it is that every day seemd like it was like every employees first day on the job. Dinner didn't seem so bad, but breakfast was always weird. Even when we got the same thing every day the price was always different. You have to know the dining inside and out and make sure you know the sides that come with what you ordered, because no one else there will know.

I am sorry you did not have good experiences at the Pepper Market. Please know that the Pepper Market is not a Disney restaurant, so this is not the fault of the Coronado. Howevre, this in no way, excuses the way you were treated by the manager or any of the other staff at the Pepper Market. We will admit our first visit seven visits ago, we were a little confused, and that was before the Dining Plan. However, we have had great service and everything was explained to us as far as what was included and what was out of pocket. I hope the rest of your stay at the resort was enjoyable.

I would stock up on some stuff you can eat in the room or on the go... granola bars, fruit, whatever. I did love CSR, but I'll tell you, picking up a muffin from the Pepper Market required A LOT of patience. It took FOREVER for the lady to get the thing, write it down... UGH! So I would just have something at the room.

That said, make sure ifyou are doing take out that you don't wait in the line to be seated. Just pick up a ticket and go in.

CSR is a great place! Enjoy!

We usually bring stuff from home or make a grocery stop for breakfast items. Saves on time and money.

We won't be on the dining plan. I'm hoping for a good AP rate that would save us more. Because DD is a finicky eater the AP rate would save us more.

Thanks for that. We did have a good tiem and we totally knew that the PM staff were not Disney employees so we cut a lot of slack. This time we will not stay there and will stay somewhere there are Disney employees. I travel for work two weeks out of the month so I am used to hotels and eat out nearly every meal when I travel, so I know what to expect. I just think we had really bad luck and a lot of bad things happened to us. Much of it was witnessed by managers and they comped some of our stay and several of our meals and gave me a large credit on my cc so I can not complain too much. We did have a good time in the parks and we were compensated for the issues we had. I used to work at Disney so I know they could very well have given us nothing, and they did give me a huge gift basket also to apologize. It was just an off thing, but PM was so disappointing that we will stay at another mod. And that is a lot for ex-hubby to give up, where else can you get prime rib for counter service credits? But we were there for two weeks and ate at PM every day, either for breakfast or late meal or lunch so I think we got a good idea of what it was like there overall, I wasn't confused by the concept, I just didn't like it or the service.
