Hi,

Last time we came to WDW we booked a really early ADR in Crystal Palace to get in the park before rope drop (ADR was about 8am I think and park opened at 9am) which gave us a head start on rides etc. Is this still a good plan these days? Am thinking if SDMT is THAT hard to get a FP+ for at 30 days, we can just use this strategy as we fancied having breakfast in CRT anyway...

Of course it's a good plan. But I got breakfast at BOG. The cost is much less and is closer to 7DMT. Being in the park early is the only reason I eat there.

I agree. If the characters aren't important and the goal is to beat the RD crowd to SDMT, then it's cheaper and faster to do a BOG breakfast. But only if you can get one of the very earliest times.

I love getting breakfast early at CP....or a couple of times, I reserved a spot at
BBB for my granddaughter and she was done by 8:45 and we were able to get photos
before the park opened and they turned out awesome.. pixiedust:

I'm actually going to disagree. All things have to go exactly according to plan for you to get out before RD. IMO early breakfast give you little advantage (the only exception possibly being BOG) and unnecessary stress in scarfing down the meal. A meal you're paying between $20 and $60 pp minimum. If rides are that important to you, hit rope drop and save the $$$.

BoG breakfast only runs through mid July unless they extend it, so that won't be an option for most people. Also, those pre-park ADR's tend to get grabbed up by on-site guests using their +10 booking advantage. Since you mentioned FP+ at 30 days, I doubt you'll be able to get one without a whole lot of stalking the website. I also agree that paying $35/person for a buffet breakfast that you're going to rush through doesn't make much sense.

Also keep in mind depending on what time of year you are going, Disney may charge operating hours. I've seen a few threads where people thought they were booking preopening adrs only to find out closer to their vacation that MK will be opening at 8 instead of 9.

Ah! Yes, it is very true that WDW will back the time up to 8 am instead of 9, and I have been stalking the calendar and figured out that Saturday is most likely to be changed from 0900 to 0800. Sunday, not so much so I made ressies on Sunday for BOG at 0800

BOG 8:05 AM Breakfast is totally great for SDMT fans.

I was through eating at 8:35(didn't rush) and hanging out in Fantasyland until they took us to SDMT to be the frist riders of the day!

Finished with SDMT and headed to Pan at 8:58.

Well worth $19.99 for a great Breakfast AND SDMT "First Riders Of The Day"!:)
