Our family is taking our first WDW trip in, oh my gosh, a week and a half! :Pinkbounc Anyway, I have planned on shipping down a box of comsumables including diapers, wipes, sunblock AND snacks. However, we are on the dining plan but I'm now second guessing the whole breakfast and sanck thing. I had originally planned on shipping the sancks, and stopping at the store on the way to WL to get milk, yogurt, bread, bananas, etc. for breakfast. We are the kind of family who is up...'cause of the kids...by 6:30 am and we all eat breakfast every day. And, we are really, really healthy eaters too - no pop tarts or "breakfast bars" or sugary cereals. So, here's a list of the reservations we have...if I get breakfast using some CS meals at WL can I get good, healthy food that will get us to a lite lunch or should I go back to stopping at the store (which I really, really don't want to do on vacation...that's why I'm going on vacation so I don't have to cook or go to the grocery store :cool1: )...oh, and the kids are DS 6, DD 4 and DD 20 mos. Thanks for any imput or experienced wisdom on the logistics of the food and the dining plan.

Sat: AK and Boma dinner
Sun: Epcot and Coral Reef maybe lunch or dinner or cancel and just go the "world" tasting appetizers they have in Epcot at night
Mon: pirate cruise, princess tea party, Hoop Dee Doo
Tues: Crystal Palace breakfast, MK til 2pm then no plans
Wed: CRT Lunch, MK all day with a rest after lunch
Thurs: open no plans at all
Fri: WCC dinner, probably MK b/c its our last day

If you are paying for the dining plan and/or want to get the most for your money, I wouldn't use the plan for breakfast unless you share other CS meals and save some credits to use for breakfast. If by eating healthy you mean no waffles or pancakes or muffins, your options will be very limited in using the plan for breakfast, IMHO. Check out www.allearsnet.com to see if you can check the breakfast menus for CS places in your resort.

We shipped stuff down to our room as well and it worked out well for us. We previously used FL Tours which stopped at the grocery store for free. I would run in and get milk, yogurt, bananas and cheese for the room. We shipped Raisin Bran, apples, granola bars and Cheerios in our box with the diapers.

That worked well and was cheaper than buying it in the hotel gift shop.

If you don't want to stop at a store, you can go to the food court or gift shop and pick up milk and yogurt for your fridge. You will pay a bit more but you won't have to officially go to the store. That would be my recommendation.

Another option is to go quite light earlier in the morning and then do a brunch. We had an 11:20 breakfast scheduled for Chef Mickey's and it was perfect. We were obviously quite hungry since we only had something minimal after waking but there was a lot of great food. Also, Chef Mickey's does not do lunches, so the characters were walking around trying to find children to meet with at this time. Our DD4 got a ton of character interaction and one-on-one time because of the limited numbers at the end of the morning.

Why not ship dry cereal without a lot of sugar in it and/or oatmeal, buy green bananas, from what i've heard it takes about three days for supplies to get to hotel-they should be just about ripe by then. If you are staying in a moderate or delux they have coffee makers (for hot water-oatmeal) and refridges. They have hess mini-marts in disney property that carries juice and milk or just pick up those few items at the resort store.

I think i'd rather stop once at a store (which i also hate doing especially on vacation) for breakfast supplies than taking small children out to breakfast everyday.
