I'm planning my breakfasts and trying to decide on a breakfast place

O'Hana or Kona Cafe??

Which is better?? I think all buffets are the same....but maybe not in this case?? And I have never heard a bad thing about Tonga toast!!

HELP!!!

Kona is a ts restaurant with the regular egg dishes, pancakes, French toast and the ever popular Tonga toast. No complaints here, the food and service are great everytime we have gone-last few years, week long trips. They get you in and out pretty quick the food comes out quicker than most places, under 30-45 minutes for breakfast. You can always take it easy and relax a little bit, but I am eager to get to the parks.

O'Hana is the character meal featuring Lilo and Stitch. We are 3 adults, so we do not dine here often. The line is always super long and it looks pretty painful. :lmao: I cannot comment on the food, we have not eaten there in years. You get your picture taken in front of a sign as a bonus.

I guess it just depends on if you want to go to a character meal or just a nice sit down meal for breakfast and how hungry you are in the morning. :)

Well we're already doing Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Cape May and Crystal Palace for out character breakfast buffets......and I don't know if we should do another one or just do Kona instead........

Boy, do I wish I had to make that decision right now! I am jealous!!

Well, we have had breakfast at both. The O'Hana breakfast is one of our best WDW memories, and the food is served family style. There is no buffet there. It is loud and fun like the other character meals. That is definitely where I would go with kids. Kona has great food. Yes, the Tonga Toast is awesome, but I always prefer to Disney-up our trips as much as possible with the kids. Kids will not think Kona is anything different than eating breakfast out at home.

Hope that helps. If you want a more mellow meal, go to Kona. If you're trying to maximize your Disney:ccat: , go to O'Hana!

So far I've got both OHana and Kona planned for breakfast & dinner. But I have Kona breakfast planned for the morning we leave and since it's clear across from POR (where we're staying) I think we'll just do the food court of something that morning instead, so we'll be able to catch our noon flight back to LAX. Since we're already doing 4 character breakfasts, I REALLY don't want to regreat NOT having Tonga Toast :o) I know I'm weird....maybe having a break one morning from a character meal wouldn't hurt??

Ooh Kona, they have the best pressed pot coffee, tonga toast and breakfast platter with macadamia nut pineapple pancakes.

I think the tonga toast is REVOLTING but it has several loyal followers on here. I was completely grossed out by it. BLECH.

That said, Kona does have good coffee and pretty good service usually. I much prefer the dinner menu and experience there but breakfast is basic and tasty.

'Ohana is another character breakfast.

Since you're staying at POR, how about Boatwright's for breakfast? They serve a banana stuffed french toast with strawberry sauce.

That's the plan for one morning - trust me!!

And it's either those strawberry ones or the sweet potato pancakes!
