Breakfast: Chef mickey's or Tusker House?

We went to Tusker house earlier this year and the food was good .It was standard breakfast with a few exotic things. The characters were great. They made it a point to really stop and interact with the kids. The one thing that really bothered me was the manager. We had been there about fourty five mins and finished our first plate. All the characters had already come by. I had gotten up to get a plate of fruit for my two yr old because she hadn't really eaten (for all the excitement from the characters). Well the manager asked the waitress if we were done and the waitress replied that we were finishing up. The manager came and stood about five feet from our table until we finished. It made me really feel rushed and it was a bit unnerving. I don't understand the need to rush us out as it was not crowded at all. There were plenty of empty tables.

My preference is Tusker House. I really like the atmosphere, characters and food. I believe it may be slightly cheaper than CM as well. I'm not a fan of the food at CM.

They are very different. Tusker House has good food, though it is a bit different from standard breakfast fare. Chef Mickey's is average quality IMO. For us, the food at TH is far superior. Both are chaotic, but Chef Mickey's moreso.

Tusker House definitely. I LOVE that special juice blend - could drink that every day and be happy :)

Chef Mickey's is wayyy more expensive, hectic, and has less good food.

TH is our favorite--we do it every trip.

I have not eaten breakfast at CM in years and years. I do remember it as being pretty good. I will never do dinner there again, though. We had dinner at CM and it was the worst food I have ever had at Disney. The characters did not come around. Towards the end of the meal I said something to the waitstaff and finally, as we were finishing, they came by quickly. I got one picture. This was three years ago, though, and I imagine our experience is not the norm.

If you want the Fab 5, go with CM. If you like the characters at TH, then do it. Both are fun and chaotic. Both have breakfast which is pretty hard to screw up. TH has also some more unusual items if you are adventurous eaters. I think either would be fine but CM will be a more difficult ADR to get if you don't book at 180 days

Chef Mickey’s does not get a lot of love on these boards, but we love it. We go every trip - usually for dinner - and have never had a bad experience. It’s loud and chaotic, but that doesn’t bother us. We find the character interaction great and we think the food is good. I’ve never experienced a dirty restaurant either. We are eating at CM next week to celebrate my twins’ birthday (their request) and are looking forward to it.

The food is way better at Tusker House. The characters at Tusker is almost the same as CM. The only one missing at Tusker House is Pluto. The others are all there though. I'd definitely go with Tusker. CM food isnt that great. The only good thing is the Fab 5 and that its a lot of fun for kids (napkin waving, parade etc). Its very loud btw. Lol.
