Breakfast Buffets etc?

Hi all, we are staying in Newport Beach for 9 days in early May followed by 5 days at San Diego. Previously we have been to Orlando numerous times and enjoyed the massive breakfast buffets at places like Sizzlers/Ponderosa etc, they are great for our 3 year old as he is picky and it allows him to always get something he likes (plus they are fairly cheap so it doesn't matter as much if he doesn't eat much)! My question is, are there similar places around these areas or does anyone have recommendations for breakfast elsewhere?

PS They don't have to be in Newport, we can drive before going to Disney/Palm Springs/Knotts etc?

you might want to search the internet for hometown buffets. they might go under another name like country buffet (??)...they serve breakfast only on weekends and are reasonable in pricing.

There is a hometown buffet a few blocks down from Disneyland on Kettela.
