Breakfast Buffet vs Sit Down

Ohhh what a great idea! I'll be staying at 7 aft. Is the beach blanket buffet just 2 floors up from there? Did you have any problems getting your tray back to your room?

How's this for fun...we were 7 aft too and very often I'd get up way earlier than my DH. I'd throw on some comfy clothes, head up the back way, bring down a tray of coffee, juice, pastry and fruit. I would thoroughly enjoy it out on the verandah and oh! looks who's up? DH! So what do we do? Head straight up again to actually sit down to a nice omelet, more coffee and maybe another croissant up in Topsiders!!! Not THAT'S cruising baby:cool1:
p.s. and no, there is no problem with taking a tray down to your room. And here's a big tip, don't forget to grab your room key before you leave, so you don't wake the person who's still trying to sleep when you want to get back in.

I don't usually eat too early in the day at home - but love a good breakfast when I'm on vacation - pancakes, waffles, yum!:goodvibes

Thank you for the tip about buffets on port days and sit down restaurants on sea days. Room service sounds great for lazy days, too!;)

However, since we live in Scotland and don't get the chance to eat outside all that often, I think lunches will almost always be enjoyed out in the sunshine!:cloud9:

I have never been on DCL, however, I have cruised on three other lines. I am NOT a cruise buffet person at all. I don't like buffet restaurants at home, either. Yes, the open air is lovely, but my children are still too young to handle things on their own, so I feel like I "work" during the entire meal. A buffet meal for us, means that mommy is up and down, constantly. I would much rather have a waiter take everyone's orders and then bring us our food, while I sit, enjoying everyone's company and actually feeling ike I am on vacation.

Now, room service, along with a verandah can be heavenly. But I experienced that prior to having children.

I had to come back and "edit" because I forgot to add that we prefer large breakfasts and large early dinners, with a light lunch, when we are cruising.
