Hello,
I was wondering which type of breakfast is best (in terms of time, expereince, and overall food) Topsiders/Beach Blanket or the sit down breakfasts at the restaurants? Which do you prefer? Also, If I choose to eat at the sit down, do I get my regular servers??? I was thinking it would be best to go to the buffets, that way I can be in and then out, but I am not sure. Please help:confused3 THANKS

Hi. The food is better at the sit down, but the food is fine at the buffet and it is much faster. There are Mickey waffles and omelets made to order at the buffet also. You do not get your regular servers at the sit down breakfast, they rotate that assignment. We usually do both during a seven day cruise. Enjoy your cruise! :surfweb:

We prefer the buffet. Also at lunch and dinner in the restaurants I remember them seating you at tables with other people.

We did sit down breakfasts on our sea days when we had more time for a leisurely breakfast and the buffet on port days when we had early excursions.:thumbsup2

Yes you are right(for breakfast and lunch)you do not have the same servers, although you may see one of your assigned servers in the dinning room. We enjoy eating a nice sit down breakfast/lunch nearly everyday we cruise.

We actually prefer room service. It's great and you can order it for anytime you want. We don't usually do the buffets at all. The sit down breakfast rotates through the dining rooms and is quite relaxing but also take a bit of time.

I really liked the breakfast buffet. My family, though, liked sleeping in. So I was the designated "Breakfast Fairy" -- bringing a nice selection back to the room for them to enjoy when they got up.

Does the sit down breakfast offer the divine chocolate croissant?

I prefer the buffet and will often bring it down the back stairway and have it out on our verandah (we are deck 7 aft).

That is our normal morning ritual too. A light breakfast from the buffet on the verahdah is great! But we do not usually eat large breakfasts. If you like a large breakfast it may be more difficult to transport. We also order a carafe of coffee through room service.

Haha....we have a morning breakfast ritual, too. DH and whichever kid gets up first would go up to the drink station and get everyone their morning tea and bring it back to the cabin.

Then when everyone was awake we'd head up to the buffet.

The best thing about the buffet is the convenience (heck my kids usually go in their PJs) the downside is that sometimes the food is cold.

Buffet here, too, and occasionally room service. I find myself waking up early on cruises so I like to run on Deck 4 before too many people are up and around. Then I'll hit the internet cafe to clear my in-box and disconnect before anyone is at work and realizes I'm on-line (stealth mode!) and then head to Topsiders to fill a tray with The Divine Chocolate Croissant - I like that term, have to remember it! - scrambled eggs and some fruit. By the time I get back to the stateroom, everyone is just starting to move around, so works out great!

The buffet has eggs to order and omlettes.
They give you a number to place on your table and they bring egg dish to you.

Works nice.

Ohhh what a great idea! I'll be staying at 7 aft. Is the beach blanket buffet just 2 floors up from there? Did you have any problems getting your tray back to your room?

I much prefer buffet just to start the day eating breakfast outside in the sun. We don't/cant at home, so it's a treat for me. We will usually eat in the restaurant once for breakfast and once for lunch each trip, but I prefer the casual buffet and simple choices during the day.

Breakfast and lunch buffet for us always. There is nothing better than sitting outside enjoying the beautiful Carribean!:thumbsup2

We prefer the sit down breakfast. We do go to the buffet at least once though. I like the assortment of pastries a little better than what they seem to have in the dining room.

For those of you, like me, who prefer the buffet, what time does it start getting crowded? What time do you suggest leaving your room so that Topsiders is not jammed with people wanting to eat once we arrive? I don't want to get up super early, just early enough to beat the crowds, THANKS!:thumbsup2

I didn't like the sit down breakfast at all. We went towards the end of the breakfast time and seemed to be ignored somewhat. It was also distracting because they were already setting up for lunch and it was pretty noisy. I liked the buffet much better. Sometimes we would grab our tray and then get a table out next to the pool if the restaurant area was too crowded.
