Breakfast at Tusker House..ropedrop ?

We are trying to decide if we should try Tusker House this year. We were looking at the Donald Breakfast. Once we are finished eating, how far into Africa do they let you wait before the official opening to the park? Or do they make you wait right at the restaurant ...or return to the Tree of Life area? Is that area opened up at 9, or would we have to wait for the rest of the stampede of people to catch up? I've never been in AK before rope drop, so I am just curious how things work here. I'm trying to judge if the extra expense of a breakfast might also help our park touring. Thanks!

We've had an 8:05ADR at Tusker House for 2 trips now, and love being in the park early. After you finish eating, there will be a rope near the entrance to Safari. Also a rope towards the other end going towards the tree of life. It's awesome to be the first one on the Safari ride. They'll hold you at the ropes near Safari until they see the masses of people coming up the walkway after the opening show finishes. You are free to browse the shops in that entire courtyard area in Africa.

Have a wonderful trip. We love Tusker house and always go early before the park opens!!!

This past Dec we had the pleasure of eating at Tusker House at 8:05am. The official park opening was 9:00am. When we finished breakfast we were able to go to the 'rope' that was right outside Tusker House. We were so excited thinking "wow! it is not crowded at all here this morning"...a few minutes later we heard *noise* and we turned around to see the official morning crowd coming over the bridge behind a rope. Fortunately they dropped our rope and we were able to get on the first car of the safari for the day before the *masses* arrived...but it was a scary there for a bit!

We did an 8:15 breakfast last week, and got out just in time to hit the Safari before the rest of the crowds (although it wasn't that crowded because it was raining). The breakfast is delicious, and getting to walk through the park before it opened was really great, too.
