Breakfast at the Boardwalk

My family is staying at one of the value resorts. We have reservations for Trattoria al Forno for breakfast. Will they let us leave Epcot by way of the International Gateway before World Showcase opens in order to get to our dining reservation? Or do we have to go through the main gate and take a bus to the Boardwalk?

Yes, you can walk past Canada and the UK pavilions and out the IG to the Boardwalk where Trattoria al Forno is located. It will require using a park admission to enter Epcot so it won't be a problem if this is the park you are visiting that day or if you have hoppers/APs. There are no buses from the front of Epcot to the Boardwalk Inn or any of the Epcot resorts.

If you do not want to use a park admission for Epcot you can take the bus from your resort to DHS and walk or take the Friendship Boat if it is running from DHS to the Boardwalk. This will not require entering a park.

I don't know how large your family is, but, to save time and hassle you could easily take an Uber. They are at much less expensive than a taxi, and a lot easier for an early am than messing with buses. Then from Boardwalk you can navigate to whichever park you desire easily.
