Breakfast at Swan or Dolphin or Spoodles

We are staying at BWI and have one day with no breakfast plans. What would you recommend? I know there is a character breakfast at the Swan on the weekends but this will be a Monday. We are on the DDP. I believe the Swolphin restaurants are not included - correct? Also, can you make ADRs at the Swolphin restaurants? Do you call Disney or them directly? I assume we can make a reservation for Spoodles - if there are any left. Lastly since we are staying in that area - I know that the BWI doesn't have a food court. Does either the Swan or the Dolphin have one? If so how are they? We have never stayed in the boardwalk area before so this is new to us. BTW - it will be me, DH, DD9 and DS8. Thanks for any advice!!

I haven't eaten breakfast at The Swan/Dolphin myself yet, but I'd be interested to hear what others say about their offerings, as we'll be staying at The Swan for the first time in August!

I will say, though, that the breakfast at the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club is great, if you're interested in a character breakfast. If you're not, another good option is the restaurant Yacht Club Galley at the Yacht Club.

No, the Swan and Dolphin aren't on the DDP. The Dolphin has a food court called Picabu. I love it and it has Starbucks coffee! There are so many options there. It's all layed out and you pick what you want and pay a la carte.

I should have mentioned that we are going to Cape May one day for breakfast. So that is why we are deciding between the Swan, Dolphin, Spoodles or the Yacht Club (that last one didn't occur to me - thanks!) Do the Swan and Dolphin take reservations or do you just show up?

I have stayed at the Swan before, and you can make reservations for the Swan/Dolphin restaurants through Disney Dining.

As far as breakfast goes, our favorite place for breakfast around the boardwalk area, is Spoodles. We just love eating there for breakfast. The flatbreads, frittata, and French toast are all good, and the fresh fruit plate is beautiful. The service is good, and often you can eat here without reservations.

We also enjoy Fresh, at the Dolphin for breakfast. They have a really nice breakfast buffet, or you can order off the menu. The buffet has stations (rotisserie, griddle, pantry, etc), and the jucing area is really neat. You can get juices freshly extracted from vegetables and fruits. If you order off the menu, the tableside yogurt cart (with granola, yogurt, fresh fruits and seasonal berries, dried fruits and nuts) is good as are the oven-baked crepes (filled with mascarpone, apples, cinnamon in a vanilla custard). This place can be busier, in our experience, especially with convention travelers.

Of the options listed, I would vote for breakfast at Fresh at the Dolphin. Yes, it can be booked through regular WDW dining. Garden Grove breakfast at the Swan is a close second, characters or not.

I actually love Spoodles breakfast- and it's usually easy to get an ADR.

We ate Breakfast at Spoodles it was sooooo good
