Breakfast at Kona.....let's grab a table!!

Donna thanks for breakfast!

Linda it's hard to believe soccer season is hear already. I am signing both girls up for tumbling after spring break. I was thinking of signing Maddie up for swimming. I don't know why I never thought to sign her up before, she loves to swim.:confused3

Ugh! I have been sick all weekend with a head cold and sore throat, now it's working its way down to my chest.:headache:

3 days till Guatemala!:scared1: Tonight I grounded her from going!:rolleyes1

I made reservations at Great Wolf Lodge for next Wed-Friday.:cool1: I wanted something fun for Maddie to do over spring break.

Hey there strangers!! It's been awhile since I've "seen" most of you and I stopped by another thread looking for some familiar faces and no one was there. :( Linda pm'd me and invited me over so I wanted to stop in and say HI! Hope you all are doing well!

Hey, Lesa!! I hope you get to feeling better soon!
Yikes!! The Guatamala trip got here awfully fast!! Is Britt still going?:rolleyes1
I'm sure Maddie is going to love the Great Wolf Lodge!!

 thanks for a wonderful breakfast Donna!

I hope everyone is doing great!

Lesa, I'm sorry, I forgot to answer you! Yes of coarse Kenny is playing sports! Soccer starts in a few weeks and then baseball I'm sure.:cheer2:
Did you get your hair cut yesterday? We need pictures; I would love to see it. I'm sure it looks great on you!
Is Kenny getting excited for soccer to start?

Hi, Angela!:wave2: Good to see you!! How are Connor and Ben doing?
Stop by and chat with us any time!!:goodvibes

Well, not much going on here. Nathan has to sell 10 sheets of NCAA brackets for an AirForce One fundraiser; they didin't waste any time.
Nathan has picked Syracuse to win over Kansas and I picked Louisville to win over Oklahoma.....sorry YM.;) I doublt that either one of us will get close.:rolleyes1

I cooked us a special breakfast this morning that I'm sure you are all going to love. You might not want to eat until later in the day.:sad2:

Hi Donna...thanks for the green eggs and ham...should I say yum?:rotfl2: Glad your tax appointment went well. I'm so glad you will be keeping Nathan.

Linda, I think we are going to see Escape to Witch Mountian one day this week. Yeah, I guess the Rock is ok to look at.;)

Hi Lesa, did you ever find anything to cover Brtt's legs?:rolleyes1 Can she swim in pants? I bet Maddie is excited for Wolfe Lodge!

Hi Angela...good to hear from you. What grade are the boys in this year?

Nothing new here, hope everyone wears green today! Let me see if I can find something...Donna...didn't you wear this a couple of years ago?:rolleyes1

Are these special keepsake brackets? We just printed off our this morning and Connor is picking his 2nd and 3rd faves just in case TN doesn't move forward.

Hi Angela...good to hear from you. What grade are the boys in this year?

Connor is 9 (he'll be 10 on June 4th:eek:) and Ben just turned 6 on Feb. 1st. Time is going by too fast!! How are your boys doing?

Today is my mother in laws birthday, her family is irish so it made perfect sense to name her Patrick!?! She does go by Pat but I wonder why didn't they just name her Patricia?

Happy St. Paddy's to all you, anyone going out for a green beer tonight? Is it bad that it's 10:20 and that sounds good to me?!!:rotfl:

Time does go by fast. My oldest will be 12 in July. My youngest just turned nine. Hmmm....Patricia does make a little more sense but you can't get much more Irish than Patrick! Were they hoping for a boy?:rolleyes1 I think this is the first time I've ever heard a girl named Patrick. Nope, no green beer for us...but thinking about it that early doesn't sound too odd to me...I've had all sorts of odds thought by 10am!:rotfl:

Oh, I see Oklahoma St plays Tennesse in the first round! That would be the cowboys against the vols!:cheer2: Donna, I filled out my brackets and I have Oklahoma in the finals against Louisville. I had to put Louisville in there hoping to get at least half of the bracket right.;) I don't think Ok State will make it to the finals so I went with the Sooners (who won't make it there either).:rolleyes1 It should be fun...DH got me hooked on college basketball when we were dating!:cheer2:

Can you believe it! they have pics tonight, I better find his uniform:rolleyes1
I should check into swimming too. Kenny loves to swim too! I guess I haven't thought much of it since our school doesn't have a pool, but maybe someplace else...
tumbling sounds fun!

I sure hope you're feeling better! sorry you have been sick:guilty:

OMG....it sure is getting here FAST!!

GWL sounds like fun! You guys will have a great time!

Did you get your hair cut yesterday? We need pictures; I would love to see it. I'm sure it looks great on you!

Yes, I sure did. It was SO cute. In the morning I was showing Kenny in the mirror about how much I was going to get cut off and his response was

"WHOOOOH WHOOOH WHOOOOH now wait a minute! how about ...this much...?" like only 3 or 4" tops as if I were going to negotiate w/him about it:rotfl:
and it was even funnier when I told Gwen how much I wanted cut off...she was like:eek: ummm the YEARS that I've known you, you've ALWAYS had long beautiful hair, are you SURE:scared: Mike will KILL me if I mess this up!!:rotfl2:

but after she cut it...she thought I was right ;) It was a shock at first, but now that I've gotten to shampoo it and style it myself, I know I am comfortable w/it. It IS very short for me! Its barely below my shoulders! I got a weave too..so its much lighter than it was! Mike was shocked at first but says he does like it. Kenny had this huge smile and said he liked it too...but "all that counts is your heart mom":cloud9:

I'll have to have Mike take a pic!

I told him about pics and he's like "I'm playing this year?" duh.... crazy kid! I asked him if he wanted too...Yeah:rotfl: he's excited esp. b/c it means it'll be warm and they'll be running around outside soon:cheer2:

tell Nathan good luck w/his fund raiser!!

I don't know much about college basketball..just that Mike is ALL about UK:laughing:

Thanks for a wonderful breakfast!
Linda, I think we are going to see Escape to Witch Mountian one day this week. Yeah, I guess the Rock is ok to look at. ;)

I hope you enjoy the movie. I thought it was good! Yeah, I guess HE makes it a little better to watch:rolleyes1

I've never heard that either! Yeah, I'd go w/Pat too...

my parents wanted a boy and when my mom was pregnant w/me, they even painted our names on the van and I was "Freddy" :scared1: thankfully I'm not Freddy:rotfl:

DH got me hooked on college basketball when we were dating!:cheer2:
that is very cool!!

I hope everyone had a great St. Patricks Day!!! I was telling Kenny that we have family from Ireland, now he wants details... I'll let dad tell him:rolleyes1

Glad you found us Angela:woohoo:

Good morning, everyone!!:wave2:

Jeepers, I'm in a rush again this morning. guess that wouldn't happen if I would get up a little earlier.:rolleyes1

Last night Nathan had practice from 6:15pm until 8pm. I met the guys in town for a light supper; then we took back some basketball shoes that Nathan decided hurt his feet. He wore the new ones last night and said they were great!!:thumbsup2
Nathan plays in a tournament this weekend....Friday night, Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 4pm.

Angele:: I guess the brackets aren't souvenir. A person can fill them out for $5 and the top winners get a certain amount of money. It's a fundraiser for Nathan's AirForce One basketball team.
That is a little odd that your mom's name is Patrick. I think Patricia would have worked .;)
No green beer for me last night. I couldn't even handle looking at that in my younger days.....yeech!!:scared: :lmao:

YourMajesty:: Cute majorette outfilt, but I do belive that it's yours.
That's too funny that we bot thave Louisville and OK in the final game!! Did you pick Ok to win?

Linda:: I can't wait to see pics of your hair! I'll bet it was a shock at first to see it so short.
That's so cut that Kenny said all that counts is your heart.....so true!!
How was the soccer picture session? Did you find the uniform? which reminds me; Nathan has his first game Friday night and the boys don't have their uniforms. Maybe they will get them at tomorrow nights' practice.

Lesa:: How are you feeling? I'll bet Britt is getting all geared up to leave...how exciting for her!!

A big hello ot everyone!! It's time for me to scoot!!:dance3:

Oh... ....I happen to have a few treats left over from yesterday.

big-apple-donut3.jpg

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!:thumbsup2

Ahhhh...I get it now (the brackets), sounds like fun! We have a bet going on at our house that whoever picks the most winning teams gets breakfast in bed. Connor wanted to throw in a foot massage too! The funny thing is Ben will probably win. We have a Scene it game for xbox and you use your controller to pick the winning answer and he almost always wins and he's just picking randomly. Go figure!

Linda I can't wait to see your hair, I got quite a bit of my hair chopped about 5 months ago and I love it. It's one of those bobs that is shorter in the back, which reminds me I need a trim.

I didn't have any green beer last night (I was half joking about having one in the first place!), but I did have a glass of wine with some friends that came over to watch American Idol. Darin is out of town for a few days so the boys and I had some company watching it. I've watched bits and pieces AI in years passed but I'm hooked this year. Do any of you watch it? What did you think of last night?

Have a great Wednesday!! It's going to be 70 here today!:goodvibes

Good morning all!!

Thanks for breakfast Donna!
wow, that is some long practicing! I am glad his new new shoes work better:cool1: Tell him good luck in his tournaments!:cheer2:

It was a shock, esp flipping my head over to blow dry it and runnig my fingers through it and...there wasn't much there:laughing: well, for what I am use too anyway!!
you know he's a sweet one:cloud9:
soccer pics were great. It was hilarious, our boys have played all together since they were like 4....and there is a Dunham sports beside the studio, so we ran in to get Kenny new cleats, of coarse his are too small now...we run into other teammates there and Caden has on a different jersey than Kenny:headache: I brought two b/c I couldn't remember which he was in the fall:rolleyes1  Steph says she couldn't remember either and that was the only one she could find...so thankfully we had the right one and Cayden just wore the goalie shirt:laughing: :woohoo:

and..I was standing there talking to my friend Brandy, her and her husband coordinate all the teams...well, we were the last to be done and the photographer comes out and she knows him well, we're all standing there talking. I looked at his camera, and was like "oh, that is the one I have too" and he's like, well, do you shoot? I said..."for fun, if that counts, but I want to learn how to USE it better" and Brandy is saying...hey I bet he'd give you some lessons, he's like lessons heck, I'll teach her and she can work part time if she wants:eek: :woohoo: wouldn't that be awesome!!!! so, we'll see how it goes!! he said I could go on some shoots w/him and see what I think!!! How cool!!! I might be able to make some money between classes doing what I enjoy!! wow!!

Hey Angela! I know what you mean, once I saw mine, I was thinking...maybe I should just go a few more inches and do that too! I better get use to this for now. I bet it looks great though!

I love AI! last night was GREAT! we missed the first 3 b/c pictures, but WOW...Danny, Anoop and Matt were GREAT!! Danny is my favorite!!! I like some of Adams stuff, but he sounded like Nine Inch Nails last night, too far off country:rolleyes1 kinda rude and self indulgent last night:sad2:

I hope everyone enjoys their day! I worked the school book fair 9-11 this morning, Kenny was loving it, he came up like 5 x's:laughing:

Hey Donna...DS didn't think the donuts looked very good. I had to explain that they were left over from St Patrick's day...he still thought they were gross! I bet you didn't know you had a food critic on board.:lmao: Hmmm...I though I picked that outfit for you?:rolleyes1 Well, I did go out and march for a little while yesterday. Good luck to Nathan this weekend. Is he holding up ok with the long practices? Oh, I went with Oklahoma in my bracket.:thumbsup2

Linda...we need a picture! I used to wear my hair in a bob cut shorter in the back...I think it's about the lenght yours is now. Can you still pull it back into a ponytail? I bet you would be a great photographer.:)

Hi Angela...no green beer?;) Sounds like you had a nice evening. For some reason I still remember the story about your DS getting his hands burned on the playground equipment at school. I hope that hasn't happened again. Good luck with the bracket contest...does Ben like foot massages?:rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great week!:)

Wow Linda!! We have budding professional photographer on our hands! That sounds like a lot of fun.

So what did you think of Alexis getting the boot? I really thought Michael or Scott should go and I was surprised it was Alexis, but when she sang for them to save her she did horrible. I'm sure she was nervous and upset, ugh. I agree about Adam's last performance but you have to give to it to him, he made the song fit his style instead of the other way around. The boys love Idol, their favorites are Danny and Adam! I like those two also but I love the sound of Megans voice. What was with the flower in Carrie Underwoods hair?!!:scared1:

Ohhhh, those burned hands I nearly forgot. That was horrible!! I hope that doesn't happen again, I'll get all mama bear on them if it does! Yes Ben likes a foot massage, not that we go around touching everyone's feet here. :rotfl:

Donna I just noticed those scary green doughnuts!! I don't know if I could eat one of those. Hope you are good!

I'm filling out my bracket today, I should've had it done yesterday!

Hope everyone is having a great week!:)
good morning there YM:hug: Yeah, I'll have to have Mike take one. I can pull it back, but if it pulls down too much it'll fall out:rolleyes1 but I like it.

I can't wait! I think it will be a great learning experience at the least:yay:

I hope your having a great week too! I can't believe its almost the weekend again. I want to go see the new Nicholas Cage movie!

Wow Linda!! We have budding professional photographer on our hands! That sounds like a lot of fun.

I sure hope it is! I'd love to have that as a side job for fun!

I definitely didn't expect it to be Alexis! I thought it was going to be Michael for sure! But, Mike had a good point she's a single mom and she has a little one, so....its probably a good thing. I don't think she would have lasted too much longer, but I thought she was better than Michael and Scott for sure! I can't believe the guy/girl ratio!!
Yeah, you could tell she was upset and nervous for sure. I don't know how they hold it together. I'd be like Jasmine....crying! Yeah, Danny was my fav and Adam was #2 for me too. I thought he was true to himself for sure, which they usually applaud them for, but they didn't that time. Mike thinks Matt is the dark horse in this competition...he's pretty good too! Kris is good, but not near as good as Danny:lovestruc Yeah, Megan is very good too. I'm glad she got the wild card! I felt so bad for her, sick and everything:guilty:

omg...I didnt get her hair at all:scared: and Brad Paisley:love: :cloud9: I love him. Mike loves the song "waiting on a woman":rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

well, I'm glad I'm not posted to work the book fair anymore this week! I spent $80 for Kenny books...most are for his Easter basket since he don't eat much candy.

I hope everyone has a GREAT week!!

Good morning and Happy Friday!!:yay:

I'm so excited; tonight is Nathan's first AirForce One game. they play again tomorrow at 2pm and sunday at 4pm.

I just checked out the NCAA brackets and found that Illinois lost to W. Ky. I just watched the first half and Il. wasn't playing very well.
Yay to Michigan and Oklahoma on their wins!!:woohoo: :cheer2:

Okay....I must admit I'm a bit disappointed in my friends. doesn't everyone decorate their donuts with green icing and pumpkin seeds??:confused3 :rotfl2:

YM:: I'm glad you got some marching done on St. Paddy's day. You definitely would look better in the majorette costume than I would.:scared:

Angela:: Good luck to Ben with his brackets.:woohoo:

Linda:: That is awesome about the photography opportunity!!

Well, pooh!! I got up when the alarm went off the first time, but noticed I had an email from Loews/Universal and had to go check that out and one thing led to another........:surfweb: I'm running late again!!:rolleyes1

I'll see if I can't come up with a more appetizing breakfast this morning. don't wanting anyone getting sick. :goodvibes :grouphug:
Who can't resist a Mickey waffle in the morning?

f64ec36d52eb03c1_m.jpg

I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!!:flower1::flower1:

Ooops!! I almost forgot.....

Lesa:: Is today the day that Britt leaves for Guatamala? I know you'll miss her, but she will be fine and have the experience of her life.

Bon-Voyage.jpg

Have a wonderful trip, Britt!! Don't forget to keep those legs covered!!;)

Hey Donna...at least we only need green food once a year! Thanks for the Mickey waffles. Good luck to Nathan at his game!:cheer2:

Lesa...hope Britt has a great trip...and Maddie too!:)

Linda...I like to pull mine into a ponytail at the base of my neck...that way it stays in place better!:thumbsup2 Hope you get to see your movie this weekend!

Angela...yeah, I remember how hot it was that year.:scared1: Ok, then I think the winner should have a nice long foot massage! That sounds really good to me. Good luck with the brackets...mine are looking honked up already.:rolleyes1

Everyone have a great weekend!:cheer2:

Donna You are just the cutest!! You always remember the important things that everyone has going on in their lives. I am just the pits!!

Put me down with the anti-green doughnuts group. Although Steve and I gave up sweets for Lent and even that green doughnut is starting to look good about now!!

It is so wonderful that Nathan made the travel team. I know that it will take up a lot of your time, but it can be so exciting. I love all sports (I even watch the curling championships on the Canadian channel) but basketball is so much more exciting than the average baseball game. Matt is done for the year. They held the District Playoffs at his gym last week and they were eliminated. But Steve and I have been following one of the other teams and hope to go to the State Semi-finals next week. This team is a VERY elite private school. Tuition at the high school level is over $28,000 per year. The team is very tall, very talented and really fun to watch.

Donna, did I read that we will have a chance to meet you and your lovely family at WDW this year? I sure hope so. That would be so wonderful!!

I talked to Brittany a little while ago. She was so excited. She has left for the airport now and will take off in about an hour. I am happy, excited and worried for her. It is such a great opportunity and the other family sounds so nice. It is something that I would have loved to have been able to do. But as a mom, I sure understand Lesa's worries.

YM I was so sorry to hear that your DS was injured and off sports for the season. That seems like the end of the world to a child. The young heal so much easier than adults so hopefully it will pass quickly. I hope he is not in too much discomfort.

I certainly hope you were not wearing the identical majorette costume as mine!! I will admit that I am terrible with the baton, can't tell you how many times that thing has hit me on the head!!:headache:

Linda I am so upset about your DH. I am praying that they discover that his problems all stem from side-effects of his medication. I believe that I am taking the same medication as he is to control nerve pain. I know that one of the possible side-effects is depression and even suicidal feelings. I also do not do well when put on any narcotics. I tend to cry over everything and nothing when on them. I hope they can work all of this out for him and still come up with some plan to manage his pain without sacrificing his enjoyment of life.

I'm sure that your hair looks wonderful. I too would love to see a picture of the new do.

I will skip the Nicholas Cage movie. Funny, I thought he was so great in Moonstruck but now I find him to just be creepy. But then, the movie industry would go under if they had to live on my support. The last movie that we went to see was the last Harry Potter movie in IMAX. I'm not good at sitting for that long. I much prefer to be doing something else while I'm watching a movie or TV.

I'm having fun with the NCAA tournament. I have basketball on from noon til 11:00. And I got all 16 right on yesterdays bracket. :woohoo: I'm sure I will be brought down to earth today though. Sorry, but I don't have either Oklahoma or Louisville going all the way although I do really like both teams.

Michele was gone for a three-day scrapbooking weekend last week She said that she had a ball. I haven't seen much of her that past few weeks. She was really suffering with those headaches. But she couldn't miss work and was also committed to being at the school several nights with PTA stuff since she is an officer of the high school PTA. She finally went to the doctor for her yearly physical. He told her that he believed she had pulled a muscle in the side of her neck. It made sense to Michele since she had had such violent coughing spells while she was sick. Then, yesterday she got a message from her doctor that they had read the x-rays and it showed arthritis in the base of her neck. He want her on lots of vitamin D and pills to calm the inflammation. She kind of laughed about because she feels better. She has had Bree giving her massages in the evening. And of course, hugs from Lilly!

I should get busy cleaning. Our DD Melissa and grandson are driving here from Illinois to spend the weekend. I'm sure they will be happy to see Steve and me but let's face it, they are really coming to see Lilly. She is so much fun now.

Hi 2X2sleep hope you are doing alright and keeping yourself upright!! I sure wish you could get this house stuff finished. But then, I'm sure you do too!!
Take care of yourself please.

Lesa, keep your chin up, she will be home before you know it. Love you:hug:

Maureen

hey hey!!!

oh my goodness---my computer isssss soooooo slloooooow!!!!!!
I hate to say it, but I dread even turning it on these days.

Okay, first things first--------

I have to give credit where credit is due----

the phrase "burns my bacon" is that of our lovely YM:worship: :worship: ---I was just allowed to "borrow" it (as long as it's with a southern accent:rotfl: )

Lesa---has Britt gotten off to her destination okay?? I was going to offer to be a her incognito chaperone. I would wear a big sunhat and glasses and even have a bottomless froo-froo drink in my hand in order to blend in.:rolleyes1
Hope she has a wonderful time. You have a good weekend, too, on your jaunt.

Linda---pics??:dance3: Gotta see the new coif. I'm sure it's darling.

My computer is acting up, so I'm going to make this short----

Hope everyone has a great day and I'll catch up soon! I hope Britt made it safely:thumbsup2 (Kenny said use that one :) )
