Breakfast at Kona.....let's grab a table!!

Good mornin', everyone!!

Linda:: I'm glad to hear you and Kenny are doing a little better. I'm cracking up that you showed Kenny about Mono on-line!! You do what you have to to keep them healthy, right?:thumbsup2
I hope Kenny is starting to eat. I remember that Kenny told us he was watching his weight when we were at Epcot and Nathan told him "you have to eat if you want to grow big like me".

Lesa:: I had forgotten that McD's had the shamrock Shakes!! I gues that made the trip more enjoyable.:woohoo:
That's really great that Madison is getting the answers to her tests before the questions are read to her!!:teacher:
I Googled Yaz, because I wanted to know more......hope it helps. It says it is supposed to help acne, too.

I have some Dunkin Donuts ready and waiting. Let's not forget the fresh hot coffee, too.:dance3:

dunkin-donuts.jpg

I hope you all have a Thrilling Thursday!!:yay:

Linda I'm glad you guys are feeling better! Have you tried a nose spray for allergies? I find they work so much better with less side affects. Maddie is on Flonase and it really helps her a lot.
I've never tried the sprays yet. I'll definitely have to now. Thanks:hug:

I sure hope the Yaz helps you:hug: I know I've thought about asking my Dr. about it too.

yeah, ex just wants to cause trouble:rolleyes: not happening:laughing: I can't give him that satisfaction:snooty:

That is great Maddie can take her time w/her tests. I can agree it would be annoying hearing a question you're already done with:laughing: she's too cute!

That is Mikes biggest problem too, he rushes through his tests b/c the "young kids" are done so fast he thinks he has to too I guess...so no he's taking his tests in the disability services room. He has 3 tests today, I told him SLOW DOWN! He has failed a lot of his tests lately! When he was taking his online tests I was ready to choke him:rolleyes1 he would bring up the test, hand me the book and keep in mind these tests are TIMED... I'd ask him the question, he'd say "I don't know" and expect ME to find the answer and answer it for him:scared1: WHO is taking this class:confused3 I'd get so angry at him!!! It was like he hadn't even read the material before, and expect me to know it:headache: thankfully he don't do that anymore!

wow, Britt's trip sure did come up quick!! I'll be praying everything goes great for them:cloud9: :yay:
Good mornin', everyone!!
Good morning Donna:hug:

Oh you know how Kenny is:laughing: I just take his little bootie right here to the computer and look stuff up and show him, that way he doesn't think I'm just making something up. It makes him think. He thinks he knows it all, so I love proving there is a lot more out there than he realizes:laughing: Yes, keep them healthy!!
yeah, I remember Nathan telling him that:rotfl: It was like pulling teeth trying to get him to eat this morning. He usually watches Pokemon from 8-8:30 so I use that against him, be done by 8 or you can't watch Pokemon:laughing: whatever works ;)!!

Yeah, Yaz does sound interesting. I've just seen the commercials, but I wanted to talk to my Dr about it when I need more pills.

yay! Thanks for the donuts! Kenny and I will both steal a chocolate one!!:woohoo:

YM...where are you, I miss you:hug:

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!! Tonight will be great Idol AND survivor:banana: can you tell how much unemployment has changed my life:rotfl2: I've NEVER watched this much tv:rotfl: but...soon I'll have my nose in the books. Mike had to miss Idol and Lie to Me last night to study. I'd run back here and tell him who made the final 12:laughing:

Donna a shamrock shake is a must for the month of March! I did read that the Yaz is suppose to help acne although that is the least of my problems.:rotfl: It is suppose to help with PMS which dh is crossing his fingers and toes that it does!:rolleyes1 :lmao: It was funny because he yelled at Britt and I the other day for PMSing at the same time, he says it's not fair!

Linda defiantly try the spray. That is what helps me the most and that is all Maddie is on now. The nice thing is there is hardly any side effects unlike the pills.

What classes is Mike taking?

Her trip did come up quick. I had DH calling US state department and the for any travel warnings. I even had him ask if they thought we were crazy for letting our dd14 travel there. :rolleyes1 They said no.:upsidedow

I talked to my insurance company today. They tried to get the file from the old man's attorney. Apparently the file is empty, his lawyer doesn't even know what injuries were being claimed. The statue of limitation ended today so they had to go ahead and filed in case there is the possibility of money! They will contact me when and if they get any info, but he doubted there would be any.

Hi everyone.... just touching down for a minute before I get to bed. I'm fighting a losing battle with the dreaded upper respiratory infection. Serves me right for bragging about how healthy I have been this winter. It makes me mad too since the snow has all melted and the temps are going up. Oh well, I'll just fight it out!!

Lesa ...how very beautiful Brittany looked in her dance picture. It made Dad and I sad because we could see the woman she will someday become. Where on earth did the time go??? I loved the story about her wanting to do her hair when the power is out. Tell her that Gramma can relate. I usually decide that since I cannot watch TV or work on the computer, I will get something done and vacuum.
That is just crazy that that family thinks they can sue you over that non-accident!! I am relieved to know that the insurance company will handle it for you.

Lilly's birthday party Sunday went off very well. She is such a little pro at opening presents. She wastes no time, but is not messy either. Too cute!
She was so happy to have her girl cousins to play with.

Donna I know how much you must have enjoyed the basketball season. I know that Steve and I have really enjoyed the high school basketball season. I think the games are so exciting and go by so fast. We used to go to the games when Michele and Melissa were in high school and Lord knows they certainly never played a sport!

And thank you so much for the breakfasts.

I meant to answer your inquiry about my leg. 32 years ago I had a cancerous tumor in my left hamstring muscle. The siatic nerve ran through the muscle so it was severed when the muscle was removed. They did a six week series of radiation afterward. So the leg was left paralyzed from the knee down. After healing, I got along fine with a brace on my leg. Eventually, unless I was tired, you would not know that I had a problem.
I do have nerve pain the way an amputee does, but mostly have learned to live with it.
In 2000, I fell and fractured my left femur. A rod had to be inserted in the bone and it took six months before it started to heal since the bone was in poor shape as a result of the radiation.
Over the next 5 years, one thing and another went wrong with the leg, mostly as a result of damage that the radiation did. I had 5 more operations so now the leg is an inch and a half shorter that my right leg and now my foot is in a permanent flat position. But that's a good thing since now I don't have to wear a brace. I do have to have my right shoe built up.
Hope this wasn't too much information! I never mind explaining but I don't want it to sound like poor pitiful me. I truly don't feel that way, after all, I'm still here!!

I am so tired now, I don't remember what else I meant to comment on.
So hi to everyone else, I'll try and not let so long go by before posting again.:wave2: :flower3:

Good morning and TGIF!!:yay:

We got a phone call yesterday that the parent meeting for AirForce One is saturday at noon. I guess now they will want some $$$.....it's not cheap.:scared:

Maureen:: It's good to see you!! I'll bet Lilly was just adorable opening her presents!
I really didn't know about your leg, Maureen. Thanks for explaining; your attitude is wonderful! Hope that upper respiratory bug decides to go away.
I just love watching the kids play ball. The games go so fast, especially when it is really a good close game.

Lesa:: I can't believe that Britt will be leaving for Guatamala soon! The time did fly by didn't it? Having David call the State Dept. was a grreat idea!! I'm sure the family she is traveling with will take good care of her.

Linda:: I had to chuckle about you watching more TV!!:happytv: There's a whole new world out there when you don't have to get up in the dark and drive to work, huh??:rolleyes1

2x2s:: Hey, there!! Did you get the cookies decorated Wednesday night? I'll bet they are adoarable and will be perfect for the baby shower!
Hope you didn't blow away yesterday!! The wind was something else!!

Does anyone have any plans for the weekend? Nothing much going on here, but next Saturday we have an appt. for our taxes.....how fun is that??!!:upsidedow

I'll race you to The Kona Cafe this morning. Last one to get there gets the check!!:teeth:

PO%20DSC02355.jpg

I hope you all have a Fabulous Friday!!:dance3: :dance3:

Good morning!

It is so nice here today!:sunny:

I am on day 3 of this Yaz and I do not think it is agreeing with me at all! I have been so nauseated and my whole back aches unbelievably bad. I looked up side effects and really this looks like a scary drug! The only thing that looked like a decent side effect was the possibility of increased breast size, which at my age who really cares!:3dglasses Now if it made them a little more perky, I'm all over it!:rolleyes1 ;) :lmao: I know you have to give a new med time for you system to adjust, but after reading everything and how I'm feeling now, I don't know if I want to keep trying it.

Lesa ...how very beautiful Brittany looked in her dance picture. It made Dad and I sad because we could see the woman she will someday become. Where on earth did the time go??? I loved the story about her wanting to do her hair when the power is out. Tell her that Gramma can relate. Lilly's birthday party Sunday went off very well. She is such a little pro at opening presents. She wastes no time, but is not messy either. Too cute!
She was so happy to have her girl cousins to play with.
Yep, Britt sure is gowning up fast! It's amazing how quickly the time goes by!!! I'm glad Lilly had a nice party. Hope you feel better.

Donna good luck at the meeting tomorrow. Hopefully it won't cost too much! Britt's trip will defiantly be a once in a lifetime experience. The girls have all these plans, spa treatments, 5 star hotel, lounging by the water getting tans!:lmao: Since her friend and the mom are Guatemalan they have that beautiful skin color that in the sun turns a beautiful deep dark tan. Well Britt has beautiful porcelain skin that turns a deep dark red in the sun.:cutie: We still have to get with the mom to find out exactly where they are staying. I was looking at pictures of Guatemala and it truly is a beautiful country. I actually wouldn't mind going to see it myself.

Hi girls...sorry I've been missing.:rolleyes1 I'll get caught up soon. Thanks for the delicious breafast (all week) Donna!

Lesa...I don't blame you at all for not wanting the side effects of Yaz. :sad2:

We had some bad news this week. Oldest DS had an MRI on his knee and it looks like he will be out of sports for 3-4 months....maybe longer. He is very upset.:sad1:

Hope everyone has a good weekend...I'm looking for to it. :)

Well, thank goodness Saturday is finally here!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

YourMajesty:: I'm sorry to hear about your DS. I'm sure your family is pretty upset by the news. What happened?

Lesa:: My goodness, the Yaz side effects don't sound very pleasant. It may take a while to find another BC that fits.
I'm sure I don't need to tell you to get a really good sunscreen for Britt. the sun can be pretty brutal.:scared:

I really have to admit that I am really feeling the need to get away for a few days. I don't know if I ever posted that I have two free one-way flights on Southwest. I have acually gone so far as to book a room at ASMu, rent a car and Gary gave me a $100 Disney gift card for a belated Valentine's Day. (It came in the mail last Saturday.)
Gary is wanting to drive to visit one of his sisters and take her a chest and some things she wasn't able to take last April. He'll be driving his truck and he's really encouraging Nathan and I to go to WDW while he's gone..(Yep, I booked tha airfare for both of us.) All I really need now is Nathan's ticket, but I'm also feeling that I don't need to be spending the extra money right now.
I guess the bottom line is Nathan and I are currently booked for a WDW trip April 3rd-April7th.:rolleyes1

Needless to say, I guess I'm on the mood for a touch of Disney this morning.;)

DSCF0726-1.jpg

I hope you all have a Space Mountain of a Saturday!!

happy Sunday!!!

anyone care to join me in some coffee cake?? (we'll let Donna get some sleep this morning)

macadamianutcake%2Ejpg

I smashed my finger in the door yesterday, so I am having a little trouble typing, so bear (bare??) with me this morning.

Donna----I am sooooo jealous!!!! you'll be in WDW in less than a month!!!:yay:

YM---oohh, I am so sorry to hear about DS. I'm sure he is so upset about this news.:sad2:

Linda---glad you and Kenny are feeling better.

Lesa---How long will Britt be in Guatamala?? I'm not sure I remember this news??

Maureen----good to see you!!! Donna's right---you have a great attitude!!

Hi Michele!!!

sorry so short, but as I said before---finger is pretty swollen and bruised up.

I have to go to our salon's 20th anniversary party today, so I have to figure out what I'm wearing.:scared: :scared:

have a good Sunday----I'll try to stop back by later tonight.:dance3:

Good morning!

Thanks 2x for the coffee cake! Maybe Donna forgot it was spring forward!:rolleyes1 Madison who gets up every morning at 6 woke up this morning all excited she was able to sleep in till 7.:rotfl2:

Sorry about your finger! I can't even imagine how bad that hurt!:scared:

Britt is going to Guatamala with her friend for spring break. They will be gone for a week. The mom is from Guatamala and still has family there and go at least once a year to visit. I am still not totally at ease with the whole thing, but feel a little better that the mom is very familiar with the culture and area. She says they only stay in the safe areas (not sure that makes me feel any better :rolleyes1 ). They will be staying in a resort in Antiqua and from what I understand it is a 5 star resort. Hopefully it will be a good learning experience for her. :teacher: I just hope that I can get through the week.

Well gotta run, we're working on painting the livingroom and dining room today. :headache:

Have a super duper Sunday!!!

Good morning, ealy birdies!!:sunny:

NOOOOOO....I didn't forget to change the time, I was just catching up on some sleep.:cloud9: ;)

2x2s:: Thanks for the coffee cake this morning! It was delicious!!
Sorry to hear about your finger. You sure are having trouble with the digits lately. I know that has to hurt.:headache:
I will post more about the trip later
Have fun at the party! I'm sure you will look smashing!!princess:

Lesa:: Have fun painting!! I still have my paint samples and collecting more:blush: Gary likes things nice and white, but I'm getting really tired of it. I did manage to paint our bathroom a pale mossy green before he talked me into just leaving the rest of the house white.:rolleyes1

Well, about that little trip. At the basketball meeting yesterday we got the tentative tournament schedules and one is listed for that weekend. This is really probably a blessing in disguise, since I was kind of torn about the trip anyway.:upsidedow
We were also planning a pizza party for the PeeWee team.....well, games are scheduled for that time, too. Might have to talk to the coach, as it was explained to us that not all the tournaments listed are written in stone just yet.:headache: :headache: :headache:

It's kind of gloomy here and t'storms are predicted for today. At least it's not snowing!!:cold:

Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone!!:grouphug:

Hey there guys, just had to pop in quick.

Sat. morning we went down to Columbus for my foot dr. appt. he doubled my meds and I guess I'm still getting use to them. :headache:

Donna...your trip sounds so awesome!! I was salivating for sure. I told Mike I'd only miss one day of school and Kenny will be on spring break and only miss one day of school:laughing: he told me I am unemployed and need to save my money:sad1: can you belive that:sad2: geesh! I guess he's probably right, but I am not going to tell him that :rotfl: sounds like so much fun though!

YM:hug: so sorry to hear about the mri results:guilty: hope he's better soon!

Lesa, hope the Yaz is being easier on you too:hug:

take care everyone, I'm going to head back and hold the couch down for awhile longer:rolleyes1

2x...so sorry about your finger:guilty:

Great to see you Maureen!:cool1: so sorry to hear about your leg though:guilty: I know it can really change your life when those things happen. Mike thinks he has it tough sometimes, but then I remind him that there are a lot that have it much harder ;)

I bet Lilly was just adorable, as usual ;)princess: :cloud9: :lovestruc

well, I better try to clean out my pm box a bit:rolleyes1

Linda I remember something happening to your foot a while back. I didn't realize it still bothered you! I stopped the Yaz after day 3. It made my back hurt so bad I could hardly sit or walk and I was so sick to my stomach though I took it just before bed.:confused3 Now my whole system is messed up!:scared: I just had to clean out my PM box too! Too many Animal Crossing PMs!

Donna I can't blame you for wanting a little color! Now pick one off your sample and get going!:lmao: If you don't like it you can always paint over it!;) That would be so sweet if you and Nathan could take a mini trip!

Britt's friend and her mom came over yesterday to talk about Guatemala. The mom was just there last week looking for a vacation house to buy, so she brought us some pamphlets. This is one of the hotels they will be staying in....now if your up on your Spanish you can read about it! http://www.hotelpalaciochico.com/Hotel_Palacio_Chico_1850.html This is the other one they will stay in for part of the time. http://www.isleta-de-gaia.com/imgcol/index.html Here are some pictures of Antigua where they will spend a good part of their time. It looks so beautiful! http://www.traveljournals.net/pictures/guatemala/antigua/ It really sounds like she is gearing the trip to really show Britt the culture and all the beauty Guatemala has to offer, it's so sweet! :goodvibes She also said that some of her family that is there will be joining them some of the time including her 90 year old grandmother.:) I am feeling a little better about the trip, still having a hard time with sending her out of the country though!!!!!

Hi, gals!!

Just thought I would say hello before I sit down to print out some invitations for our PeeWee Pizza Party. You all should come!!:woohoo: :cheer2:

My internet was being difficult this morning; I had a delicious IHOP breakfast ready and everything.;)

Linda:: I take it your meds must be making you drowsy? I hope you get used to them soon and they do the trick!
Too bad Mike thinks you should save your money. I just hate it when someone uses logic.:rotfl:

Lesa:: I guess I should just make a decision, but that is not one of my more admirable traits, I'm afraid. Who knows, I may actually get to painting soon.:thumbsup2
I'll have to come back to look at the website for Britt's hotels. I'll bet they are fantastic!!

Better get to working on the invites.
Have a wonderful night!:cloud9:

yeah, darn foot won't quit hurting!:headache: that is why we ended up changing our Dec. trip from wdw to a cruise:guilty: I really didn't want to get a scooter:rolleyes1  terrible huh!!

Oh NO...so sorry the Yaz was so hard on you! It did look like some crazy possible side effects:guilty:

It does sound much better for Britt's trip. I'd feel much more comfortable now too. :rotfl: I can understand some of it...telephone, internet, laptop:laughing: I love the bungaloos! wow...maybe they'll let you stay in their vacation home sometime if they buy one:woohoo:
a good thing, Mike has been talking about moving south after we're out of school:banana: :yay: well, NC or TN anyway...I'll take that ;)!!

I hope everyone has a great evening! Mike is calling, he's feeling deprived again:rolleyes1

Good morning, chickies!!

Ugh! I slept like a rock last night; which is a good thing, but the night went by so fast! I feel like I could sleep a few more hours.

I did get the invitations printed out and they are ready to distribute to the kids.

I have to make a trip to the Rec complex today to hand in the paperwork for Nathan's Airforce One. They did have practice Sunday afternoon and it was pretty intense. It lasted for 2 hours, but some of the other parents and I did about 45 minutes on the walking track....I feel pretty good about that. We decided to get a 6 month family membership; which will include the walking/jogging track, nice exercise room and use of the pool.:cool2:

Lesa:: I viewed the websites and those places look really nice. I did notice there is a link on the left that can translate into English.:rolleyes1

Linda:: Woo-Hoo for moving further south!!

Michele:: I'm still waiting for some pics of Lilly's birthday party.:cutie:

Hi, YM, 2x2s and Maureen!!:wave2: Hope you all are doing well.:goodvibes

I guess I'll just serve yesterday's leftovers. ;)

ihop-742589.jpg

I hope you all have a Tiggerific Tuesday!!:tigger: :tigger: :tigger:

omg Donna...that looks fabulous, thank you:hug:

I know what you mean, I could have slept more the past few days! Kenny has woke me up the past two mornings:rolleyes1 I use to always get him up about 7:30...he's woke me up past 8...oops! Thankfully he wasn't late for school:yay:

Sounds like Nathan has some serious practicing w/this crew:cheer2: awesome! Oh the membership sounds great! I'd love to walk like that too:woohoo:

yeah, I keep working on him to go south. Each time he has terrible pains, I remind him it wouldn't be so bad in WARMER climate. I can really tell it in my foot too. It doesn't hurt near as bad when its warm out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day:hug:

Good evening! I thought I'd stop by before heading to bed. Wow is it windy here!!!!

I finally mailed Lilly's gifts today. The post office recommends you sending packages priority mail otherwise it could take up to a month for something to be delivered. :scared1: Plus...Holy crap......postage sure has gone up since I last mailed a package!
yeah, darn foot won't quit hurting! that is why we ended up changing our Dec. trip from wdw to a cruise:guilty: I really didn't want to get a scooter terrible huh!!

That really stinks about your foot! I hope the meds start working soon! Yeah, the Yaz is some crazy stuff. Just the 3 days was crazy on it! I defiantly would not recommend it to anyone. I did some more reading on it because I really wanted it to work, the things I read were down right scary. That and I saw a commercial trying to "clarify" the claims stated in previous ads for Yaz. Never a good sign!:sad2: The bungalows look really cool! I'm going to sit down with Britt to talk about how and what to take pictures of while she is there. I just know all she'll come home with are pictures of her and her friend making funny faces and none of the scenery! LOL How's that note passing, girl kissing boy of yours? I hope he's feeling better!

Good morning, chickies!!

:
I know what you mean about needing more sleep!! I didn't want to roll out of bed today. Even Maddie slept in till 8, she had to race to get ready. She needed it though, she has not been sleeping well lately.
It sounds like Nathan's going to be busy with practices! :cheer2: That's great about walking the track. The mom's and I talk about walking at cheerleading practices but none of us get off our lazy butts to do it!:rolleyes1
I knew there had to be a way to translate, but for the life of me I couldn't find it.:lmao: Now that I read it, it's not much info. I am glad about the privite bathroom in the room though! I do wish you could click the pictures that are flying by to see what it looks like. One of the reason's she picked this hotel was because it is in the middle of everything to give you the feel of the culture and scenery. She said the other hotel was a hotel that could be just about anywhere. She (the mom) send me an email thanking me for the opportunity to take Britt. She seems to be as excited to take Britt as Britt is excited to be going. :)

Maddie went to the ortho today, she won't need braces for a least another year. She still has too many baby teeth.:cool1: She also went to the asthma specialist and he agreed to take her off all her meds!!!:dance3: :woohoo: :yay: :cool1:

I thought I'd share a freebie I got of the freebie thread today. It is for a free gift from VS. If you sign up for Pink Nation they will give you a coupon to print off and take in the store. You get a free gift, no purchase necessary (a very nice sized bag from Pink $20 value while supplies last) and $10 off a $35 Pink purchase. I took my coupon in today and got my bag.:cool1: I signed Britt up too and I'll take her this week to get hers. https://secure.vspink.com/pink_nation.jsp

I got an email letting me know a little of the recommendations for Maddie's IEP. It is being recommended that she gets integrated language arts services next year instead of direct services. This should be a good thing I think/hope as she won't be pulled out 2x a week. Instead it will be an aid comes in the classroom everyday during LA for an hour a day. The meeting is on Thursday, and we will defiantly be having a chat about the teacher. She still isn't really providing the accommodations in the classroom and I've grown tired of having a meeting with her to discuss it.

Well I'm heading off to bed! Sweet sleeps peeps!!! Sorry if my spelling is a bit off. I'm on DH's work computer where everything is teeny tiny so I can't read it to check for spelling errors.:flower3:

Good morning!
Jeepers the temps really dropped during the night. We went to a high school ballgame last night and the wind and rain was just starting as we were just about home. It was about 60 degrees last night, now it's 32.:cold: Boy, that warm Florida sunshine sure sounds wonderful about now.:rolleyes1

Linda:: I hope you don't oversleep this morning. Don't you think it's the meds making you so drowsy? At least you have Kenny to wake you up! Nathan would sleep until 10 or 11!!pirate:
Tennessee is a beautiful state.....an closer to WDW!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Lesa::I had to chuckle about the bathrooms with hot running water. That's good to know. I guess you can never be presumptious about these things.
You'll have to tell us what you got Lilly for her birthday; after she receives the pkg., of course.;)
That is good news about Maddie's meds!! I hope next year works out better for her, too. At least they haven't just swept the problem under the rug and are taking positive steps to help her.
Thanks for the VS coupon!

I've whipped up a little something this morning. You can skip the garnish, however.:goodvibes
