Breakfast at Kona.....let's grab a table!!

Oh Michele:lmao: :rotfl2: great pics!!

OHHH great breakfast too:hug: thanks!!

crazy about Matts coach, some of these coaches and teachers just confuse me!
W/soccer, Kenny hardly EVER scores. He just don't care too for some reason:confused3 but he does pass incredible to make the scores. I guess he's great at "setting them up" and assisting, but he usually plays a LOT. Hopefully Matt doesn't get discouraged!!:cheer2:

the pool:scared1: yeah, call the Dr. for sure:scared: !!

Yay! Blake comes home today:banana:

Good morning Donna:hug: enjoy, kick your feet up and relax:cloud9:
I hope Nathan gets to play a lot w/the new league and learns a lot. I remember him teaching Kenny some pointers in front of Soarin:laughing: :yay: He's a great kid!!:lovestruc

This morning Kenny tells me " I was thinking maybe Lila and I should just be friends so we don't get in so much trouble, then...I threw that idea out":lmao: :rotfl: The boy cracks me up! I told him, just QUIT PASSIN NOTES! and talking in class, so your darn teacher don't send notes home, then you have to get punished!!!

Yay....tomorrow is my concealed carry class!! :cool1:

I hope you're all fantastic and have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Saturday morning, everyone!!

Gary just left to have my satellite radio permanantely installed in my car. He listens to Nascar radio constantly on his and just can't figure out why I want to listen to local stations/news.

Last night we ate at Chili's and I had the Southwestern Cobb Salad with Avocado Ranch dressing...it was pretty good and I felt like I was eating a little healthier than I have been.

We really don't have anything planned for today. I need to do some housecleaing, but nothing other than that.

Michele:: Did Blake make it home safely? I hope Lilly has fun this weekend at her birthday party!!

I found a little something for breakfast from Old Key West's Goods To Go. Eat hearty!!

I hope you all have a Soarin' Saturday!!:woohoo:

Good morning!

We had a nice little scare at 7:30 this morning. Gracie came inside with a bloody eye! :scared1: We are pretty sure she chased a damn rabbit under the fence and cut her eye.:headache: Off to the vet and $80 later she has a cut on her eyelid and will be fine.:rolleyes1 They put some goop on her eye to help with the swelling and now she looks so sad.:guilty:

Linda passing notes and kissing girls already!!!! Your in big trouble!;) I was freaking out about Britt getting her first kiss at 14.:scared1: :lmao: Thank goodness that didn't happen!:cool2:

The guy Britt asked to the dance has been labled a jerk by Britt and her friends. I will say that the girls keep asking Britt for guy advise because she has "experience".:scared1: I guess asking a guy to a dance gives you guy experience.:lmao: :rotfl2: As long as that is the only experience she experiences!:rolleyes1 ;)

hey gals---

sorry MIA----I've just had a pretty depressing week. Long story---I'll tell in a minute, but just have to say that my wrist is fine. I think I have a bit of, or start of carpal tunnel from years of typing/piano playing/estheticianing:confused: , etc., so I think the fall just aggravated it a tad. Feels okay, but thanks for all of the concern.

So, on to my story----it's long, so be prepared.

Last week I had the TV on a channel (local) that I never watch, so it's crazy that I even saw this story. The news was on and there was a segment on about a little 7yr. old boy who was battling a severe, rare skin blistering disease. Of course, my eyes and ears perked and had to watch it. This poor little boy had to be wrapped in guaze from neck to toe under his clothes. He could only by bathed every 3-4 days because it was such an ordeal and it had to be in a bleach solution to kill any bacteria. His skin disease, unlike mine, does not respond to meds, so all they could do is keep his wounds clean. His mom works at a competing salon and she just lost her apartment due to expenses. They were showing this because her co-workers were doing a fund-raiser for them over the weekend (last Saturday night).

Anyway, as you can see from the above info, I could not just sit and do nothing. I couldn't attend the fund-raiser, but decided that I would take up a collection from my salon during our meeting on Wednesday. Well, you all know how I feel about getting up in front of people and speaking, but I HAD to do it for this little boy. I got up there, started telling his story and noticed a look of horror on one of our nail tech's face. I kept looking at her in confusion as I spoke, and then she spoke up-----"Traci, my sister-in-law works with his mom------he passed away Monday.":sad1: :sad1: I started crying and walked out.
I've been so depressed since then---just trying to grasp this. I don't know why this is hitting me so hard----never even met him or his mother-----just felt a connection, I suppose. All I keep thinking is that sweet little angel is no longer in pain. I can't imagine what his mother is going through. Our nail tech is going to keep up with any info and I think I will probably still do a collection because I'm sure medical/funeral bills are pooring in.

I haven't read our thread in a couple of days, so I will try to catch up later tonight.

hope all is well with everyone. I really wish I could see you all in person right now.

Oh, 2x2s, I'm so sorry for the young boy. I wish we were all together right now, too.:grouphug:
If you find any information about a collection for the mother, please let me know, I would like to help.

good Sunday morning to you all!!!

Donna---thank you so much. I didn't post the story to ask for donations, but just to explain why I haven't been checking in. Please don't feel that you have to, but if you wish, just pm me and I'll give you the info.

okay, let's lighten this thread up a little, shall we??

seems as though I missed an important birthday----

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY PRINCESS LILLY!!!!!

CONGRATS TO NATHAN!!!
basketball-cake-3d.gif

Donna----I would love to come see Nathan play sometime.(if that's alright with him??;) )
glad to hear the science project went well and that they were "environmentally friendly".:) Thanks for the info.
there was something else I was going to tell you, but my mind seemed to have failed me at the moment.

Linda---:lmao: :lmao: OH MY GOODNESS----KENNY!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: watch out girls!!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: good to hear he's so open with you, though.
Microbiology?? yikes!! gotta hand it to ya!!!
ahh, a WDW trip!! I need to live vicariously through you.
I was talking to my 3yr old nephew on the phone the other day---couldn't understand half the babble (on my cellphone, too, which doesn't help)----but I could understand "go to Disneyworld?? issss too far??" he knows what to talk to me about. I guess he remembers more about our Oct. trip than we think.

Lesa---I hope Britt is feeling better. It seems that the sick bugs are all over this winter----maybe I say that every year??
How's Gracie's eye?? poor baby!!
yep, Britt needs to keep her "experiences" limited to asking a boy to the dance.:goodvibes

Michele---did Blake make it home safely??
Too cute about Lilly and the money. It's funny what some of the "first" words are.:cutie:
poop in the pool?? yucko!!!:scared: he needs to see a doctor---that can be really dangerous, can't it??

Donna said:
Better to have breakfast with Pooh than swim in it!!

:rotfl:
I think the neighbors just heard me cackle out loud!!!
that needs to be a tag!!!

hey YM:worship: where are ya??

HI MAUREEN!!!

I must jump in the shower:yay: . Today my day consists of helping my mom bake duck cookies for a baby shower she is throwing for a co-worker this week. (we get to decorate them on Wed.:cheer2: :headache:;) ) Then, my aunt is in a community theater play, so we, including my dad, are going to see it. It is Arsenic and Old Lace, I think?? I've heard of it, but have no idea what the story is. Then, we are going out for Japanese food (I hope--cuz I'm craving it)

Have a good Sunday!!!!:grouphug:

Good evening!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

We've been continuing insulating around the windows and replacing the trim. I can't say if the windows are warmer, but they do look much better.;) By the way, spray foam isolation is the best thing ever invented!:upsidedow

I just had the whole talk with Britt on the dangers about chat rooms, and sending inappropriate texts. Apparently one of her friends discovered chatting with strangers via the internet with a video cam. I trust Britt (at least I hope I can) not to do this, but what's to say when she spends the night somewhere. I got the whole "do I look that stupid"....I defiantly am not ready to be a mom of a teen, I miss my baby.:guilty:

Gracie is doing much better. Her eyelid is still a bit swollen, but looks better. She hasn't even tempted to chase a rabbit today.;)

Those cookies sound yummy!

Michele...poop + pool = Hope Lilly had a wonderful birthday. I hope to get her box out tomorrow or Tuesday.

Well it's a 2hr Brothers an sisters so I'm off to watch it. I hope everyone had a great weekend!:flower3:

Well it looks like the start of another work week!! I'm just SO excited......not really.:upsidedow

2x2s:: sounds like you were having a busy day yesterday!! Nothing like having every minute planned for you!!;) How are the duck cookies. I think the movie Arsenic and Old Lace had Cary Grant in it and his elderly aunts killed people with their elderberry wine?? Am I close??
Hope you got to eat Japanese!!

Lesa:: I was sorry to hear about Gracie's mishap, but glad her eye is doing better
Glad to hear you warned Britt about the use of the internet. Talking to strangers via internet cam=not good.:sad2:
Woo-Hoo for spray insulation!!:woohoo: :yay:

YourMajesty:: Did you take a weekend trip?? We miss you!!:flower3:

Had better get breakfast posted. Nathan's ISAT tests are this week and he needs to have a nourishing breakfast before shcool.:teacher: He'll probably want pancakes.....hope that's OK with you all.;)

pancakes-ck-222326-l.jpg

I hope you all have a Magnificent Monday!!:dogdance: :dogdance:

I used to think it was impossible to have the worst day of your life (as Britt would put it) before you can even crawl out of bed. Now I believe it is possible. ;)

Warning....This is long, so read if you want or just skip to the next post, really it won't hurt my feelings.:snooty: ;)

First let me start by saying I am ready for my Aunt Flo to stop visiting me! Every month I get terribly sick the day before and then I wake up in the middle of the night with someone ripping my insides out. I'm sure more info than you wanted, but it was the start to my lovely day.

Well after thrashing around the bed and waking my dh up, bless his heart he always asks what he can do to help. :lovestruc He got me some motrin and we both just about fall back asleep....

Then the stupid smoke detectors start going off.:headache: Well they are wired through the house and they go off when the power goes out. So we wait for the power to come back on, can't go back to sleep because they keep going off every minute or so. Plus dh is asking me if I paid the bill:rolleyes: and what he should do about work...we can't get the car out of the garage...(I'm thinking if he would just shut up we could go back to sleep :rolleyes1 ). Then he has to check the neighborhood to see if anyone else is without power...he comes back saying it is hit or miss on who has power (mind you it is 5:30 am and not everyone is up yet  ). We eventually determine that we are about the only one on our street without power, but everyone behind us and beyond is out. So we finally start to go back to sleep when there is a knock on the door (sends Gracie into a barking tizzy:mad: .......

DH answers the door (by this time Maddie is up and starting with the whole 20 questions and throwing a fit because she wants to watch tv :headache: ). She runs down to see who is at the door and runs up to tell me a policeman is at the door.:scared1: DH comes up with some papers the sheriff handed him.....

Remember oh about 2 years ago, a few weeks after our Dis meet I was in a so called "accident" with a crazy old man? The one I didn't really hit, but he kept getting out of the car into traffic and I had to keep calling 911 to hurry cause he was going to get hit....

Well I was being served with papers saying I was being sued for $50,000 for his "injuries"! :scared1: :rotfl2:  :headache:

All this before 7:30.:surfweb: My power did get restored around 10 so I was finally able to warm up and have some coffee!:thumbsup2

I do have a funny story about Britt and the power being out....it was the the one thing I did laugh at this morning. I hate to say it, but she is truly blond and has these blond moments that make you go huh!!!! When she got up this morning she was flipping out cause "how can you take a shower in the dark?" :confused3 Ummm you just get in and wash dear, I'm sure you know where all your body parts are by now.;) So she takes her shower, goes to the downstairs bathroom but it is dark so she comes back in with her makeup, flat iron and hair dryer. She asks DH to hand her the mirror out of the bathroom because she can't see to do her hair and makeup. Dh asks her where she thinks she is going to do her hair. She said she was going to do it in her room because she can't see in the bathroom. "Where do you think your going to plug in the hair dryer"? She says..."In my room so I can see"! DH says...."you do realize the bathroom is dark because we have no power, and that means no power in the whole house including your room".:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I hope everyone else has a better start to their day!:flower3:

Good afternoon!:sunny:

Oh, Lesa......what can I say? I do remember your accident. Didn't the old man just stop in front of you? If I were a millionaire I would send you to Disney right about now; I think you need it.
I think Britt was having a blonde moment, for sure!! I always try to get someone to use the toaster or microwave when the power goes out, but it never works!!:lmao:
I hope you are feeling better by now. I guess my day was probably better than yours.

Donna, your so sweet!

Yep, this is the man that slammed on his brakes in front of me when I was at a stop sigh, stopped. I still don't believe I hit him at all, and the only reason I stopped was because he was out walking in traffic. :sad2: I talked to my insurance adjuster today. Seems this claim was closed back in Sept 07. The old man was very ill and the lawyer couldn't get any info out of him to pass onto my insurance co. I have a feeling the man is still very ill and his family sees "easy" $$$$ before he goes and are forcing the issue. I have to fax the summons to my insurance company and it will be taken care of. I'm sure I will have to give a statement.

Good morning!!:sunny:

Lesa:: Sending you pixie dust that today will be a better day!!:tinker::tinker:

Michele::How did Lilly enjoy her birthday party?

Hi to Linda, Queenie, 2x2s, and Maureen!!:wave2:

Not much going on here and I'm not complaining!!

Hope everyone is doing well. I think I need an extra little magical breakfast this morning. Maybe this location will help.:goodvibes

Our table is ready and waiting.

I hope you all have a Totally Awesome Tuesday!!:wizard:

Good morning guys!! Just wanted to pop in. I've been trying to keep up reading, but Kenny and I have been sick. We went to rapid response yesterday and got meds:sick: ...I'll post more soon.

you guys have made me laugh and cry though! 2x...I'm so sorry about the boy:hug: I can totally relate in circumstances like that too. you just feel the connection.

Lesa, so sorry about the lawsuit, we can REALLY feel your pain and aggrevation there, but Britt had me cracking up!

Thanks for the wonderful breakfast Donna! :goodvibes Maddie has ISAT tests this week too. I am taking her out to lunch because she said she will need a break to recharge her brain! :rotfl2: Not sure if McDonald's food qualifies for brain charging food, but I'm sure the shamrock shake does!:rolleyes1

Have a great day everyone!:flower3:

Hey Linda, you sneaked (or is it snuck) in while I wasn't looking!:tiptoe: 2x story had me crying too! :sad1: Really I'm not worried about the lawsuit! That's why I have insurance and really I don't see them being able to prove he is "ill" because of a minor fender bender. I was more irritated they served me that early in the morning! Yes, Britt can be a hoot! Never a dull moment with her. She did say that her friend tried to dry her hair too! :rotfl2:When do you start your classes again? How's that note passing, girl kissing boy of yours?

Linda I missed the part that you and Kenny were not feeling well. I hope you guys feel better soon!

Happy Wednesday everyone!! Woo-Hoo! The week is almost half over!!:rotfl:

Linda.....I hope the meds do the trick and you and Kenny get to feeling better soon. See what happens when you do so much kissing.;) :love2:

Lesa......Did Maddie enjoy lunch out yesterday? Why is it that kids love McDonald's and most adults hate it? Nathan likes that place, too, but I could live without it.
I'm trying to get Nathan to get up in the mornings and have a little something to eat. He's NOT a breakfast eater, about all I've managed is toast and milk. I did bake some chocolate chip muffins last night, so hopefully he'll have one for breakfast this moriing.
The good thing about ISAT tests are NO HOMEWORK!!:teacher: :dance3:

I have plenty of muffins this morning to share. Care for one?

chocolatechipmuffins.jpg

I hope you all have a Winsome Wednesday!!pooh:

Hey hey hey!!! we're doin' much better here! Thankfully the strep tests were negative. Just the good ole upper resp. infections, darn allergies etc. Antibiotics, claritin d, lots more liquids and lot less dairy products. He said the OTC cough/cold, multi symptom, pm stuff....all waste of money, just buy claritin d or zyrtec d and see how that does for a month, then if great, we'll get prescriptions for flonase. He mentioned its the wonderful OHIO climate...hmmm good reason to move right:rolleyes1

Hey there 2x:hug:
yeah, it was too funny even the nurse was going on and on about his eyes etc. He just eats that crap up:rotfl2:
ohh your nephew sounds too cute!! you'd be amazed what they can remember!! Kenny still remembers when he was that age he'd throw a FIT when I had to go to work and I'd explain "mommy has to work, make money, buy Kenny toys" and he'd throw his little hand up and say "bye mom":lmao: so he'll still say "go to work, make money, buy Kenny toys":rotfl:
yeah, I think the microbiology will be an intersting one:scared: I'll definitely DESERVE a wdw trip after this quarter:laughing:

I hope all is well and enjoy the shower today!
ohhh Japanese sounds so tasty!

Hey there Lesa!! yeah, those chat rooms can be so dangerous:scared: The lady I went to the NRA class with was telling me all about her 14 yr old. having a friend that has a myspace pg that her parents don't know about and pics she posts:eek: It is so great to be close to our kids and be comfortable w/talking to them about anything.

I can totally relate... I got served about the same time on CHRISTMAS EVE! My stupid ex trying crap again. we haven't went to court yet:rolleyes: if it goes that far. I think he's just trying to cause problems.

I hope your insurance takes care of it and it just goes away soon!

I was going to talk to my Dr. about Yaz. Have you heard anything about it? It's supposed to help:hug:

:rotfl: that is priceless... teenage girls:lmao:

He's doing much better b/c he's begging for Pokemon games etc instead of just tissues:laughing: the hard part is he didn't want to eat at all and he hates soup. I told him he can't live on applesauce forever:laughing:

Hey there Donna:hug: thanks so much for the great meals!!

Hope Nathan is doing great on his tests:cheer2: no homework sounds great!

Oh, its too funny we DID tell him about what happens when you kiss:rotfl: and that there ARE kissing diseases ;) I told him about mono and its nothing to be messing around with ;) so, keep your lips to YOURSELF!:rotfl2: he was like "are you serious"!! I showed him online  hopefully it scared him a little:rotfl:

I hope everyone is wonderful! Seems like Monday...the last few days have been a blur!:guilty: we're getting back on track though. Today I had a lot of running around to take care of. School starts the 30th:banana:

Linda I'm glad you guys are feeling better! Have you tried a nose spray for allergies? I find they work so much better with less side affects. Maddie is on Flonase and it really helps her a lot.

Microbiology!:scared1: That will defiantly deserve a trip after your done!

I just started Yaz last night. Hopefully it will help. My choices were hysterectomy or trying BC pills. I naturally decided to try the least invasive first.;) I asked about ablation but because of other heath reasons I'm not a candidate.:guilty:

Sorry about your ex.

Donna thanks for the muffins, they went well with my coffee this morning!:surfweb: Madison did enjoy her lunch yesterday. I can't say I enjoyed the food, but the shamrock shake was worth it!;) Maddie was complaining this morning about her ISAT test. With her IEP she gets taken out of the classroom to take her test. It is nice because there isn't really a time limit (that was her biggest problem), they get lots of little breaks and the questions get read to them. She was complaining that she didn't like the questions being read to her because she had already read and answered the question before it was done being read to her. I guess I know what to take that out for next year.:rolleyes1

Well Britt leaves for Guatemala in a few weeks.:sad2: I can't believe it came so fast. She needs a new bathing suit and some shorts, so I guess we will be shopping this weekend.:upsidedow
