Breakfast at Kona.....let's grab a table!!

Been kind of busy the last couple of days with basketball, menu planning and trip cancelling. I sure hope I didn't mess up my Rapid Rewards flight through SouthWest. It's showing a credit of $2.50??
Linda.....How are the first few days of school going? It's so exciting that you are finally on your way to acheiving your goal!!

Gary's glucose levels were decreasing, but rose a little yesterday morning. It's very frustrating; he has really been watching his food intake.
so sorry the trip was cancelled:hug: hope your SouthWest issues are taken care of quickly!

busy busy here... I have been doing homework since 8am and I'm only about 1/2 done and have to STUDY! basically have a quiz every class time over what you did last time... shouldn't be too bad though...I HOPE ;)!!

Sorry Garys levels are frustrating. I can only imagine:guilty: hope it gets better soon.
Mike just called and said "tell them hello on the disboard":rotfl:

thanks for all the great food:hug:

Well, good news from me!!! The foot specialist moved my appointment up to this afternoon and I just got back. The black area is just the remains of bruising on the area of the heel where the rod was inserted. There is so little
padding there anymore. He cut away a little around it and put a fitted gel-like pad in the heel area of my shoe. I go back in 4 weeks for him to see how that is working. Unfortunately you cannot "fatten up" the bottom of your foot so we will just have to try solutions until we find something that works for me.

It is just a beautiful, sunny, warm day here. I really need to get out before the weather changes tomorrow.
Hope you are all having a good day too

Maureen
I sure hope that padding works for your foot. It sure is hard to fatten up the bottom of your foot:rotfl: I'm telling you...foot pain is just not fun, not that any pain is...but when you can't WALK:eek:just not good!
I hope you got to enjoy the weather, it sure was beautiful!

I thought these pictures she took were beautiful

This first one is my favorite. I'm going to print it out and frame it.
She said they were stuck here on the road for close to a half hour because of an avalanche.
I wish this was a little clearer, but it is still beautiful. They were driving and this woman was walking down the side of the road.
those pics are incredible Lesa!!
It looks pretty cool, even blurred!

Yes, Linda you can do it!:cheer2: I'm sorry to hear about Mike I hope they find something to help. Is he still trying to avoid surgery?
Thanks, I'm sure trying!!

Yeah, the surgeon said to come back when you simply can't stand it anymore b/c he'll be in as much pain, if not more than he's in now all the time and he'll lose some range of motion. Even now he's said he's going to quit driving if we're together:scared:

Linda......Good luck with the homework, but I'm sure you will be able to handle it.:thumbsup2
Sorry to hear about Mike, I hope he gets some help soon.:guilty:
French toast!! Kenny's favorite!!

thanks, I've been on it ALL day...but I'll keep on it all weekend studying...I really want to score well so I don't have to stress thinking "I HAVE to get this or else".... I'm sure it'll be fine, I know I've got it in me :yay:

yeah, he says he's much better today, thank goodness!!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Kenny is on spring break next week, so I know he's going to be all hyped up when he gets home:woohoo:

DH's trip got canceled!:woohoo: It was going to cost us a pretty penny for him to go because he didn't have enough clothes to take. Since his work went to business casual he got rid of a lot of his suits and the ones he still has he sorta outgrew.;)

Linda I'm so sorry Mike is suffering so much! I hope they find something to help him soon.:guilty: Were you able to get all your homework done? You can do it!:cheer2: How is Kenny's love life?

YAY!!! yeah, darn washer/dryer must shrink my clothes too:rolleyes1:laughing: I'm sure Maddie is happy about that one!!

he made an appt. first thing this morning, I think it might be for the 9th? not 100% sure...but hopefully they can do something. It seemed like nerve issues, saying pain was unbearable and his left foot was totally numb... I hope they do something soon!!

omg...Kenny Kenny Kenny!!! He took Lila a Easter goodie bag this morning:love:w/a chocolate bunny, a lamb Webkinz and a Jonas Brothers pin:lovestruc and he gave her an invitation to come over. He had a note in his backpack from her saying "when are you going to invite me over?????"

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!! I'll have my nose stuck in the books and find something to do w/Kenny. Maybe go see Monsters vs. Aliens or something...

Come and get it when you can:hug:

Good morning, everyone!!

Thanks for the delicious breakfast, Linda!!

It's supposed to be a beautiful day here today; not sure what Nathan and I will be up to.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday!!:sunny:

Good morning!!

I'm going to make this short because it's raining like crazy and I have a feeling the internet is going bye-bye- soon!

How about a big stack of waffles this morning?

Waffles look great. Is it still raining? It's very windy and cold here today. :cold:

Hope everyone is having a nice weeken!:flower3:

Hey ya'll, I've been MIA because we've had Influenza B going through my house. Connor got it on Tuesday (started with a horrible headache), he started feeling better but he's still draggin a bit then Friday Ben get's it and then yesterday it's me! I'm feeling ok but my throat is killing me and coughing and body aches. Also Darin had a procedure for Kidney stones done on Friday and while the stones had moved out they had to put a stint in and it stays for a week! I hope we are all normal in 2 weeks, cause I'm so ready for Disney!

Also I applied to the local junior college and I'm going to finish my pre-requsites and hopefully follow in Linda's footsteps and go to nursing school. I've been throwing this around for years so I just need to do it so I have something else on my resume besides stay at home mom, not that it's that horrible but I'd love to have something that's just mine. Linda keep me posted on your nursing school adventures, I'm hoping to finish before I turn 41 (I'll be 38 this summer:scared1:).

Hope your Sunday is better than mine!!

Angela...yikes, that is a rough round of illness in your family. My nephew had the flu and he was very sick and the kidney stone stories...ouch. I hope everyone is fully recovered and ready for Disney! Good luck with nursing school. That sounds like an excellent plan. I turned 41 this year.;) Take care and keep us posted.:flower3:

Good morning, everyone!!

Gary decided to come home from OK a little sooner (no pun intended;)) than expected, so he got home about 3am yesterday morning. I was pretty glad to see him. Nathan and I met my mom, sis and niece for lunch on Saturday; when we got home I turned the car back on to get a CD to eject and I guess I left the car turned on.:rolleyes1 My battery was totally dead.....gone forever. The battery charger couldn't even revive it.:sad2:
So, I got to buy a new battery yesterday!!:teeth:

Angelea:: I hope you are feeling much better by now. I'm sure your family will be fit as a fiddle in a couple of weeks!!:woohoo::woohoo:
Congrats on applying at the local jr. college!!:cheer2:

Who doesn't love a trip to Chef Mickey's? I think I'm soooo ready for a little breakfast with the Big Cheese!!:dance3::dance3:

I hope you all have a Terrific Tuesday!!

Thanks Linda...how's the studying going?

Waffles look great. Is it still raining? It's very windy and cold here today.
Hope everyone is having a nice weeken!
Hey there YM:hug: the studying is going great so far. I guess we'll see when I start seeing my grades :rolleyes1:laughing: I got my first paper back from English yesterday and got a 92%...so that always gives ya that extra boost of confidence that it WILL be alright:cloud9::cool1:
Hope you had a great weekend as well. Kenny is on spring break and its killing him...Mike and I have all this homework and studying to do:guilty:..I told him maybe Fri. we can take the day and go play...go to Columbus and see Monsters vs. Aliens on 3d and maybe try to get to Jeffersonville...the best shopping outlet mall ever...they have an Under Armour store!!love:so, that got his attention:laughing:

How are your boys? Hope your oldest is feeling better:flower3:

I'm SO sorry you've all been sick:guilty: Yeah, I bet you ARE ready for Disney:yay::cheer2:

CONGRATS!!!:woohoo: that is so awesome!!! You'll love it!! Actually, my rn program is only a 2 yr. program. 1st yr is pre-req's and 2nd is clinicals..of coarse its just an assoc. degree rn, but around here you really don't need a BSN, and even if you have it, you won't make any more for it. I have several rn's in the family I've been talking to about it ;).. I want to play it by ear for now and start w/the assoc. but once I get going, I think I'll prob. go after my BSN anyway b/c quite honestly...I don't plan on STAYING around here:laughing:

So far, it has been great! I think in general, you get out of it what you put into it. I know Mike doesn't agree w/me now, but that's a whole other story, not too many people w/the same issues he does.

Good thing though, he hasn't been complaining more than usual:woohoo::laughing:terrible isn't it!!

Good morning, everyone!!

a little sooner:rotfl2:sorry, that made me laugh out loud!!
Glad Gary did get home sooner, that is great:banana:

oh no... battery bummer for sure! At least you were at home, I hate being out and having issues:headache:
I still thank god everyday I don't have that commute anymore:cloud9: I don't miss those flat tires, transmissions going out, all that fun stuff!!

Chef Mickey's:woohoo::yay:awesome choice!Thanks Donna!!!

I hope everyone has a great day. Time for some major studying/homework and house cleaning today:laundy:

Hey Donna...thanks for the Chef Mickey's breakfast. Hmmm...so Gary left the exciting state of Oklahoma early?;) Glad he made it home safely.:car:

Hi Linda...woohoo a 92%! That's an A girlfriend.:thumbsup2 Sorry Master Kenny is a little bored this spring break...I bet he will survive.;) Sounds like some good plans for Friday.

Well...nothing new here. Youngest DS is playing baseball. Seems a little slow with only one in sports...but I think it is helping with the knee.:thumbsup2

Good morning!!:sunny:

Not much going on here. Gary did take the rest of the week off to be with Nathan during his spring break. Yesterday they went to the Rec Center so that Nathan could get his practice shots in; it's just been too wet and windy in oour driveway.:scared:
I have just been busy working.:confused3

Linda.....Congrats on the english grade!! Way to go, Gurl!!:woohoo:
Sorry to hear that Master Kenny is getting bored, but your Friday plans sound like fun!!

YourMajesty...... It is hard to believe that Gary wanted to leave Ok early, but I think he missed us. (Nathan and I, not you!!:teeth:):rotfl2:
You might actually get a chance to breath on the weekends with only one son in baseball. Gald to hear that oldest son's knne is getting better. Has he been swimming?

Lesa......How is Britt doing? Did her tummy bug go away?

Angela.....I hop your week is going better than your weekend. Not many days left now!!:woohoo::woohoo:

I think it's time for some Mickey waffles. Dig in before they get cold!!

popkidswaffle.jpg

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!!:yay::yay::yay:

Donna...breakfast really hit the spot today. I'm partial to waffles. How often does Nathan have his basketball games and are they always on the weekend?

Linda I add my congratulations for the good grades. It must be hard sometime wearing so many different hats but I know you are doing a good job with all of them. That's sort of what we woman do best isn't it? Just don't forget to take some time just for yourself.

YM I'm happy that your DS is showing improvement with his knee.

My cardiac non-running stress test was today. I actually thought it was yesterday so Steve took Monday night off work so he could go with me. Lucky for me I called the doctor office Tuesday morning to make sure it would be allright for me to take my morning pills. The nurse said "oh, you mean for your appointment tomorrow"? I can be dumb as a rock sometime.
At least we didn't show up only to be sent home. I wouldn't let him take another night off so Michele went with me. I was so worried since a lady at Steve's work told him that she had the test and not to let me have it. She said they give you a shot to speed up your heart as though you were running and her's got too fast and they had to stop the test.
I understand that they can do it that way but mine was long but so easy.
They gave me a shot of radioactive material then took a series of base pictures of my heart. Then they administer something which dilates the veins to mimic what happens when you run. EKG's are taken and something is then given which brings the veins back to normal and more digital heart pictures taken and you go home. Took several hours but it was a breeze. The doctors office called this evening to say that the cardiologist had read the tests and my heart is just great with the blood being pumped just the way it should be. So YEA!!!
Now I will have to get off my duff and start exercising the way I should.
Today (the 9th) is my DH's 70th birthday. He has always been the kind to say that he didn't need anything and didn't want any fuss made, but he really has kept mentioning that his birthday was coming up. So we are celebrating it on Easter Sunday when I will have the kids who live here for dinner. We have to babysit Michaels' two little girls today so I will have them "help" me make his favorite pineapple upside-down cake as a surprise.

Hello to everyone

Good morning, everyone!!

Maureen......I'm so happy to hear that your test came back so good!! I know it had to be scary for you, especially after hearing a negative report.
I love that I am able to walk during Nathan's practices. Can you find a walking buddy?
Yep, Nathan's games are only on the weekends, but practices are usually held during the week.

Happy birthday to Steve!!!:bday:party:

I 'll have to whip up a special birthday breakfast this morning.:scratchin

Yeah, I just wish they'd ALL be A's :woohoo:You know me, I'll sure try!!

Mike had a test to take yesterday, so he had to sit at his college while he took a test, said he was great and just played DS:laughing:so Mike bought him a Happy Meal and some Bakugan, and says I spoil him:rotfl:

Yeah, I think we all need the break tomorrow! Its been crazy! You either have school or lots of homework. No fancy dinners here lately, just quick and easy! Whatever it takes to focus on this degree:yay: I'm so excited! I have a long way to go, but it doesnt feel like it'll be THAT bad!

Glad ds's knee is coming along:cloud9: tell yds good luck in baseball:cheer2: Our's don't start for another few weeks, but I don't think Kenny wants to play this year:confused3 we'll have to see. I've been thinking about getting him into martial arts. I asked him last night if he'd like lessons to play guitar, he says "no, I wanna play the drums":laughing:I like the guitar idea better, I'm sure our neighbors would agree...but who knows!!

tell everyone we said "hello", hope HisMajesty is doing great too!

for some reason, I have this urge to go to SOG:rotfl:

Good morning!!

That is great Gary is off:cool1:I'm sure he enjoys some time w/Nathan! He is really into Bball now isn't he? that is awesome!! I still think of Soarin w/him and Kenny playing at the entrance, Nathan giving Kenny pointers. He's such a sweetheart!:lovestruc

Sorry you've been so busy working:guilty:

Thanks, I'm sure trying!! It's so funny, all my classmates think I'm their age (early 20's ) :rotfl2:I said something in lab yesterday about my dh being retired and you should have seen their faces:lmao:

Kenny will survive I'm sure, he's so use to always going somewhere and doing something...ok, so am I:laughing: but we'll figure it all out. thankfully he's a great and understanding kid... and loves the rewards when he's good. He reminds me there are pokemon cards on ebay he wants:rotfl:I have a stack here he has to "earn"

Thanks, the waffles were great:hug:

Hello to everyone
Yes, us women are just programmed that way, aren't we:laughing: I know Mike isn't:rotfl: thanks! I'm sure trying to give it my all! yeah, that is tomorrow, I'm planning on kicking back, enjoy some shopping, watch a movie w/Kenny and Mike...and not even think about homework!

I'm so glad you found out your appt. was the next day. I think sometimes THEY put it down wrong too! Sorry Steve wasn't able to go, but glad Michele could. I'm sure you were a little anxious, esp. after hearing a negative report on someone else! I'm so glad it all went well:cloud9:

Happy 70th Birthday Steve!!!pixiedust:party::bday:

Good morning, everyone!!

I 'll have to whip up a special birthday breakfast this morning.:scratchin

I hope you all have aThrilling Thursday!!

Thanks Donna! It was great!!! Hope everyone has a great day!

Hello friends! Sounds like everyone is busy busy!

Donna...Thanks for those yummy waffles yesterday. Of course Gary missed you and Nathan! Do you have a tournament this weekend?

Maureen...so glad to hear your tests came back good. That was an interesting description of how they checked out your heart. I need to exercise too!:yay: Enjoy your weekend and birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Steve.:bday:party:

Hi Linda...are you out and about with Kenny today? No baseball this year? I'm sure he will find something...can't keep those little ones still! Keep up the good work...and Mike too.:teacher:

Yippee...I'm off today! Hope everyone enjoys the weekend...what's everyone doing? We're eating at my sisters house on Sunday. The boys are going over tonight to dye eggs and make Easter goodies.:cheer2:

Yeah, you know it...go go go!

All three of us went to Columbus today, saw Monsters Vs. Aliens in 3d...that was cool, pretty good movie too. I don't think it would have been near as cool in 2d..they have a LOT of 3d movies coming out soon too!
We went to the mall and Mike took me into the Walking Factory. He HATES my Keen shoes:rolleyes1so I tried on a few pair. He has been telling me for a year I need GOOD shoes...I tried on a few pair...The Dansko's felt good but I hate that loose sloppy feel but the MBT's felt SO great! I bought two pair:laughing::banana: They're awesome!
the catalog says it helps tendon issues! and everything else you can imagine:laughing:suprised they don't wash dishes too:rotfl:

I don't think he's going to do baseball this year. he's sitting here and I asked him and he said "probably not" I'm sure he'll get into something. I've really been wanting to get him into martial arts..so maybe we'll check that out.

Enjoy your day off and have a wonderful Easter! I bet the boys are having a lot of fun!:yay:guess I better think about doing some eggs soon too:laughing:

Hope everyone has a great night and Easter if I don't "see" you

Good Morning all!

We colored our Easter eggs this morning. An interesting feat with a 2 year old. I'd forgotten how 'fun' it is:rolleyes1 I am horrible...I never liked coloring eggs with my own kids. This time was better...I just stood there with the camera while Bree had to keep her from making a mess. She wasn't fast enough to stop her from dumping the pink cup into the yellow cup. so then we could only make blue or orange eggs.

Blake has to take Nick out driving soon. He takes his exam in 2 weeks and needs to practice backing into a parking space and parallel parking. This will be interesting...I will have 3 kids who drive and 1 car for them to share. But who am I kidding...they always borrow mine. Matt has mine right now.

He has a baseball tourney today. So his team has gone out to breakfast. It will be chilly to sit out for hours but not too bad. They had a game on the 2nd, then all of their games this week have been postponed because of snow! I hate this...we have been on Spring break but it was too cold to do anything outside.

Have a great day!!!

Michele...I bet you did enjoy taking pics of Lilly:love::cloud9: I let Kenny put Yellow and Orange tablets in one bowl:laughing:then he wanted to mix them all but I talked him out of it...they sure can be messy!!!

Good luck to Nick:drive::moped:cars are much more fun than moped's:rotfl:
