We have reservations at Crystal Palace at 8:10 AM with a park opening of 9:00 AM.

Once you have finished breakfast, where is the "rope" for that group of people? Will we be able to get near the castle for some photos?

I have grand dreams of being one of the 1st families in Fantasy Land that morning! :goodvibes

There will be a rope at the entryway to Adventureland, one at the entrance to the walkway on the side of the castle... basically at every "spoke" of the hub of the MK. The Crystal Palace is located before Adventureland so like all the other guests, you'll be at the same ropes.....

Good luck though-hope you get into Fantasyland right away!!! :goodvibes

You will be able to get near the castle for photos even before breakfast. I would suggest getting there loooong before your ADR time; I had an 8:15 ADR on 12/11, got there at about 8 and we didn't get in until after 8:30. I counted about 150 people that went in before us and it doesn't appear that they actually start seating people until 8:15 or so.

It also takes FOREVER to get there! First you go from the resort to the TTC lot, then take the monorail to the Poly, GF, then MK, then go through the bag check, then get to go in. True, you do most of that anytime you go to MK, but when you don't realize how long it all takes until you're trying to get there for an early ADR.

But get there early, check in, and you'll have plenty of time to take pics in front of the castle.

Hope that helps with your planning - have a GREAT breakfast!

I always arrive at MK by at least 7:30 for 8:05 ADRs. It takes me about an hour to eat and see all of the characters, but I've always been at rode drop. Depending on which land I want to go to, which is usually Fantasyland, I head to that rode. You have two options, either the castle, or go to the one at Liberty Square, and then take the path that goes by the smoker's area, which is usually less crowded.

TY all for the info!

We are staying at the CR and I planned to walk over about 7:30 AM and check-in as soon as they will let me!

I had not thought of taking pics before breakfast! :rolleyes1

I am really looking forward to this breakfast! I love getting into the parks before they "open"!!!

I want to break in on this thread to clarify something. I also have 8:10 ADR's on a 9:00 opening and we will be driving to the TTC. Are the monorails all running? Is there a special line to get into at the MK to get in ahead of everyone? Thanks.

We just did this in Nov and it Rocked!!
Yes, the monorails will be running
We just went to the gate, they asked if we had res for Crystal Palace
and let us in. There were even CM'S that once we got in, that sprinkled our
sons with pixie dust :wizard:

Main Street was empty! It was all decorated for Christmas and there
was Christmas music playing, we felt like we had the whole park to
ourselves! :santa:

Before we headed over to CP, we got our photos taken in front of the
castle, with no one else in it!!! Woo Hoo!!! :)

The breakfast at CP was awesome, great food, great character
interaction. You will love it. We plan on doing that on every trip for now on
Have fun all!!!!

I forgot to add!!
Once we were done at Cp, we went straight on Fantasy land
and hit all the rides over there in about 45 minutes, maybe less

There has only been one monorail operating whenever I've gone to MK prior to opening. It comes every five minutes or so and has never been an express - it always stopped at a couple of the monorail resorts prior to getting to MK.

Once we got to MK we went through the turnstiles with our tickets as usual and there was a sign directing those with ADR's to follow a roped path into the park. Once we were actually IN the park, we could stop and take pics on Main St or in front of the castle, or just walk around Main St.

We had ADR at CP before the park open and after we ate, I got my son's picture in front of the castle and there was nobody around. :woohoo: He looks so little in the picture with the castle behind him.. It was awsome... Good Luck....:santa:
