Is the donald bfast a good choice for a character meal,my DS (2.5) adores donald. Was just wondering if this is THE best place to see him. Thanks
:hmghost: :goofy: :donald:

We are trying this character meal for the very first time in August - I was curious about it also as I have never heard much about it. So glad to hear it is a good one! Have a good time!

Been to this one twice and loved it… you’ll see Donald and Mickey. Last time Goofy and Pluto where there too. Total of 4 characters. Could be a couple more in my opinion, but overall great character breakfast. Will do this one again…

We did this last September, my DS(3Yrs) loved it and Donald is his favorite too! Food was good also. They have a large spread of different things, along with cereal and fruit. This one was one of my favorites! :thumbsup2

We really enjoyed this breakfast. The character interaction was soo much fun-- Donald was in top form (I love Donald, too!!)

Definitely try the breakfast pizza, its yummy!!

DD9 and I did the breakfast in February. While not my favorite, it was very good. The food was good, and we enjoyed the characters. I found it a little more noisy, and 'busy' than some others. I enjoy seeing the characters in their different attire depending on the "theme"! I would go back if were planned on being at AK early, and could get a last minute ADR!

Oh yeah - the breakfast pizza, that was my first experience with it. I look for it at every breakfast now - seems like each location has a little twist.

We went last July, my kids loved it so much we are going back in August. My son loves that they have Krispy Kreme donuts there. I'm not sure if they are the real deal or not but my son thinks they are. Great breakfast, you will love it. :)

I tried at lunchtime to get a last minute ADR for this breakfast - May 11th, it will be our first day and us English are always up early on that day because of the time difference!! Needed an 8am so that we could be one of the first for EE - none available. Got a lovely CM who suggested trying once a week for the next 2 weeks just in case of a cancellation - here's hoping!! :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure that this is the only one that guarantees Donald. We did it last year and loved it. It was Mickey, Donald, Goofy and possibly Minnie. I'd recommend an 8:00 ADR if possible.

I offer no opinion on this meal because I haven't done it.

I just think it's so funny how some threads take on one opinion while other threads have opposite opinions. I've seen tons of threads discussing this meal and I've seen very few positive comments. Most people claim to dislike it. Now this thread comes along and it seems like everyone loves it.

The same thing happens all the time with Sci-Fi...some people love it and some people hate it.

We really enjoy this meal. This coming September will be our third meal here in three trips! :) We always get a time slot scheduled that will allow us to finish up just a few minutes before the park opens. It's a great way to be the first ones on a ride! It's a lot of fun!

Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

If you have a little Donald Duck fan you might also want to check out Chef Mickey's Buffet at the CR. They serve breakfast and dinner. Donald does not come around to the tables but both times we were there he was in the front area (near where the buffet is and you check in) and on our way out we stopped for pictures with him. I am not sure if this is an "all the time" thing. But we LOVE Chef Mickey's. It's a lot of fun for the ages of our children (9,6 and 5).

I don't know any other character meals where Donald attends. Maybe someone else does. Have a great meal!! :goodvibes

Good to hear good reviews! DBF and I will be dining there for the first time in May (less than 3 weeks away, woot!). My main reason for booking was so we'd be in the park before it opened so we can go straight to Expedition Everest! Hehe!

That's SO true. I hesitated booking this character meal because I've only ever read negative reviews, but I figure you have to try things yourself to really know because everyone's tastes are so different. It is nice to hear some positives for a change!!! :thumbsup2

We had breakfast with Donald last June and loved it. We are going back this November and this is the only meal we are repeating from our June trip! My family loves breakfast so it was a good choice for us.

This is why I have decided to try things for myself, if it is something that it seems we might enjoy. DD and I have done 9 character meals since January, and there have been none that I would give a thumbs down to, but some that I absolutely loved. This might not be the case the next time around, as there are so many variables - including the other guests in the restaurant.

At the PSB we had a hysterical little Tinkerbelle at the table behind us who wanted nothing to do with the Princesses or her costume, however the parents did not remove her to try and console her - did this along with a cranky server tarnish the experience a bit.... yes, but the next time it might be quiet and we might have a happy server!!!!

Happy dining!!!!

I have had the breakfast pizza at several different breakfast buffets- AK, 1900 Park Fare, Contemporary - they were all very good, but I think may have varied slightly - basically scrambled eggs on some type of pizza crust with cheese melted on it, and I think some might have had a little toppings (like bacon maybe??? I could be remembering this part wrong!)

Here is a recipe that I found on http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/recipes.html
Breakfast Pizza
from Chef Mickey's, Contemporary Resort

1 12" Boboli
2 large eggs
1/2 cup coarsely shredded/grated mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup coarsely shredded/grated Provolone cheese
1 cup coarsely shredded/grated Cheddar cheese
1/4 cup heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place Boboli on baking sheet.

In a medium bowl blend the cheeses together.

In a small bowl, beat the eggs, heavy cream, salt and pepper. Mix well and add to cheese mixture. Immediately (to avoid clumping), pour mixture onto the pizza shell.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese mixture is set and is beginning to brown.

Cut into pizza wedges.
