We have a dinner ADR at Sanaa next month, and the bread service on their menu looks fantastic as an appetizer for DH and me to share. Which breads and accompaniments would you recommend?

Do they put bread on the table at Sanaa when you sit down?

No, they definitely charge you for the bread, and wait on you to make the choices, as there are plenty of options.

We did the bread service and liked pretty much everything. We got the naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha with the raita, mango chutney, and the hummus. I wanted to get one of the pickles, but was overruled :rolleyes1

All of it was very good, and I would probably get any of our choices again. Enjoy your dinner!

Oh, and the kids' pizza there is made fresh with the naan dough, and is quite good. Our picky DD3 went to town on it.

The bread service is pretty big and we have tried all breads and all sauces. The pickle ones are better than they sound. I don't remember all of them but there isn't any that we would not have again.

I think DH and I have tried them all and our favorites are the naan and the mango chutny however they were all good these were just fantastic. I don't even usually like mango chutny because it is way too sweet for me but this one also had a great spicyness to it that made it much more balanced without being either too sweet or too spicy:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone, this sounds great!!! We will definitely be getting this! The hummus, mango chutney and raita all sound great!! The kids' pizza sounds great too, my little one would love that! My older one tends to get a hamburger, so if that is available at Sanaa he would probably want it. But he also eats pizza so maybe I can get him to try that along with his little brother!

I was just there this weekend and DH and I had the bread service.

Sorry for the hijack, but how large is the kid's pizza? My almost 11 yr old loves pizza, and if this is big enough for him, we could save his adult TS credit!

Thanks!

We ordered three orders of the bread service--Naan only.
We were able to sample all 8-9 of the relishes/chutneys. Everyone (there were nine of us) liked different spreads so we were glad that we tried all of them. Even though there were some we liked more than others the fun/interesting part of eating the breads was sampling so many different flavors . I would never have just wanted one style of relish.

Are these breads and accompaniments found at the Boma buffet?

1) Not that big.
2) It really is kid-size.
3) He might still feel hungry after the meal.

The bread was great! Definitely get it!

We got the naan, onion kulcha, and paneer paratha with the raita, mango chutney, and the garlic pickle. Yummy!
