I like mine totally plain. No sauce, and preferably w/o raisins. I like it nice and "eggy" ( moist ). I don't mind vanilla ice cream on it, but I would prefer an ICE COLD glass of milk with it.
 
Yum!
Love it warm with chocolate morsels melted in it, lots of cinnamon and chocolate sauce on top. Nothing better on a cold night. :)
 
Mmm I like it with the yummy buttery sauce and lots o rasins!
 
I like it with the rum sauce, also with white chocolate sauce. We make it with almonds and an amaretto sauce too.
 

Scandinavian way is yes to the raisins, no to the sauce. We always had it with a dollop of homemade strawberry jam on top.
 
Love it with raisins and whipped cream on top. My mother used to make it out of the Sunmaid Raisin bread YUMMY!
 
I love bread pudding! I like it with or without the sauce, but I voted without since I am picky about the type of sauce. Never had it with ice cream. I like it warm and moist. :goodvibes
 
As long as it does not have raisins or the like in it, I love it. Don't really care one way or the other for sauce or whatever... that part I am indifferent to (because it totally depends on how the sauce tastes to me). I just don't like nuts or raisins added to any desserts.
 
I voted "other" cause I really have to be in the mood for it. I'll take it plain or with sauce but absolutely NO raisins! :sad2:
 
Can anyone share their bread pudding recipes? I love bread pudding but haven't a clue how to make it! :confused3
 
I like mine with rum or whiskey sauce- heck, any old booze poured on top will do! :banana:
 
I like bread pudding with vanilla sauce, as long as it doesn't have raisins in it. If so, then all bets are off and I'm not eating it!

I feel I MUST share the most awesome recipe with you!

Usually I can take or leave bread pudding nothing special but I found this one and it is so decadent yummy... ooooo, you just have to try it!



IRISH BREAD PUDDING WITH CARAMEL WHISKEY SAUSE

Preheat oven to 350.

Combine 1/2 cup raisins and 1/4 cup Irish whiskey in a small bowl. Cover and let stand for at least 10 minutes. Do not drain.

1 (10oz) French bread baguette cut into 1 inch thick slices
Brush 1/4 cup melted butter on slices and bake butered side up for 10 minutes. Let cool, then cut into 1/2 inch cubes and set aside.

Whisk together in large bowl:
1 3/4 cups half & half
1 cup sugar
1 TBS Vanilla
1 (12 oz) can of evap. milk
2 beaten eggs

Add bread cubes and raisin mixture.
Press down and allow to stand for at least 15 minutes.

Spray 9x13 pan with cooking spray, then spoon in mixture.
Combine 3 TBS sugar and 3 TBS cinnamon and sprinkle over pudding.

Bake in 350 oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until set.

**NOTE = You may subsitute apple juice for the whiskey (but why???)


CARAMEL WHISKEY SAUSE

1 1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
Combine in heavy metal sause pan over med-high heat,
cook and stir contantly until sugar dissolves.
Allow to cook an additional 15 to 20 minutes
DO NOT STIR until mixture becomes dark golden and syrupy.

Remove from heat and stir in:
1/4 cup butter
2 oz (aprox 1/4 cup) cream cheese

Let cool slightly then stir in:
1/4 cup Irish Whiskey
1/4 cup half & half or heavy cream

Serve warm over Bread pudding.

YUM!!! Do save this one... it is worth the effort!

I love bread pudding!! My favorite! Hmmmm... I should ask my dad to make some for Thanksgiving. He makes the best bread pudding!
 
:sad2: Not for me. The consistency makes me gag. I can't eat bread pudding, tapioca or anything else that wiggles.
