I have decided to purchase a bread maker so that I can make my own low carb bread. I'm curious as to what kind of bread maker would be best and wondering if anyone has made their own low carb bread? Was it edible? LOL, I mean was it worth the time and trouble?
My mother is very ill and about to begin chemotherapy. Because she no longer has a stomach she is unable to eat very much food. I worry that she is not getting enough protein for building all those new cells she will need during chemo. Her physician told her to keep her carbohydrate intake low (she is going to get too thin--she isn't overweight at all).
I bought the low carb cookbook by Dana Carpenter. The white bread recipe provides 24 grams of protein per slice and only 4 grams of carbs. I think if this bread is at all palatable it would be very helpful for her.
Has anyone tried making their own low carbohydrate bread? What did you think of the taste?
