What time of the year do the Brazilian tour groups come to Disney? I remember many years ago being at Disney and huge groups of the Brazilians were there. I can't remember if that was June or July of that year. Are there any other huge tour goups that come during the summer months from other countries?

They've been there every year that I've been in July. I thought about that before I booked our trip for this month, but I couldn't get DGS to change his birthday or else I sure wouldn't be there while they are.:headache:

They are always there. The most groups I have seen at one stay was in October.

We were just there June 26-30 and the Brazilian tour groups were everywhere! There were red shirts, blue shirts, yellow shirts, and green shirts. They weren't rude of anything but there were hundreds of them. We made the mistake of going to Animal Kingdom the same day they did. My son and daughter went to Dinosaur right at RD (while I got FP for EE) and got behind a group of blue shirts. There were about 100 of them. The red shirts were behind my kids, so they were sandwiched between tour groupos. I wondered what was taking them so long. My kids are scarred for life when they see those shirts and flags. :rotfl2:

I was tempted to ask one of the flag holders what their itinerary was. :thumbsup2

I have gone in November and Feb. and this was the most I have ever seen. Again, they weren't rude in any way. They only chanted/clapped once in line but other than that they were very well behaved. Its just a very large group.
I'll upload a picture I took sometime today.

There were huge groups this past Feb (the first week).

Mostly teenagers and have to say over all it wasn't an issue. They were just loud. But any group of 50 teens about 13-16 are going to be loud!!! :rotfl2:

They were there 2 weeks ago. There was a group in yellow shirts, red shirts and green shirts. The group in red were all teenage girls and they were very rude. At Camp May Character breakfast twice when the characters came to our table some of the girls in red just pushed their way in as I was trying to take pictures of my 2 daughter with the characters. They weren't willing to wait until the characters made it to their tables. They were interupting families all over the restaurant.

We were there June 15-19 and they were there. It made standing in 1 or 2 rides a pain but overall it wasnt bad. However, i saw one flag holder at a fastpass dispenser with a stack of tickets 2 inches thick getting fastpasses. No wonder FP times jump till mid or late in the day!

It seems to me I have seen them year round. I admit, I usually cringe when I see the shirts and that flag. In their defense, some groups are really well-behaved. I guess it's like a PP said, when you get 50 teenagers together, their behavior is really predicated on how well the chaperones are paying attention and disciplining any infractions.

There were groups (although I think I saw Argentina on the one group's backpacks) in December.

There were a lot there last week, including one group staying at CBR. When we left Blizzard Beach around 2 that one afternoon, it was the only midday bus we've ever been on that had people standing. All the tour group staying at CBR. (Which, my DD was tired, and one of the girls talked to her, then gave up her set for DD since she was so tired. Very nice of her. :))

Brazilian school holidays are july and january. Pop warner is december. I have no clue the vacation schedule of other s american countries.

pop warner... that takes place the first week of December right?
is it really as bad as it sounds? which hotels (resorts) should we avoid? we were planning to visit WDW in December, possibly the first week of December 2012 to see all the Christmas decorations
We hope to book our stay at the Coronado Springs Resort or Port Orleans Riverside.

We don't care much about the tour groups while in the parks but we want to be able to sleep lol

thanks in advance for any comment/suggestion :D

They are here now, but all have been considerate, considering that they are trying to "stay together" It does create some issues with rides since they get a slug of fastpasses for the same time so if you have several of these groups arrive at once yuo cna have 100 people enter the FP line at once. Not a big deal and the CMs appear quite adapt at working though these situations.

Was told by a CM that July and August were the 2 big months, but I've read on this board that the tour groups are there duing the fall as well.

I remember going to WDW as a kid in the 80's. And each time we went, we went in July. And both times there were the numerous Brazillian groups. The worst part about it was (during the pre-FastPass era), the lines were huge for EVERYTHING. 1 of the group leaders would go up to someone in line and prey upon their sypathies to let a "couple" of children jump in line in front of the person. The person would agree. And in the course of the line moving, that "couple" of children would turn into a couple dozen.

But it wasn't all bad. Me and my sister got a lot of entertainment watching my old man change colors with rage and mumble to himself every time this happened. And the watching my mom, who is the most sympathetic, liberal, wants to help everyone out, saint of a woman, yell out "OHHHH!!! COME ONNNNNN!!!!" by the 3rd time this happened.

Anyone else have similar stories? Or has the advent of the FastPass more or less done away with these scams?

I've got admit that so far this years group of South American tour groups have been quite well behaved compared to those of previous years.

Now just as I say that they will come and try beat up one of my characters.

PW isn't that bad. It is seriously blown out of proportion on the Dis, IMO. We have been a few times during that week and pre Dis I didn't even notice them although I was at thier resort. The kids are busy during the day so mostly hit the parks in the evenings. They also don't stay together in large groups, they splinter off in smaller groups from each team alot. I don't know if thier resort has been released yet this year but they are usuaully at the All Stars, espically Sports, and one moderate as spill over resorts.

We were there the same time you were. I mainly saw the red group. They were dancing and singing in Epcot. As the walked past Aladdin and Jasmine singing and dancing Aladdin and Jasmine joined in it was funny.

We were June 23-27 and there were several that we saw. I have to say that they were much better behaved than we've seen in the past. Other than being very large groups, we didn't see any craziness from them. I did see a group leader in a fastpass line and remembering that I was glad we didn't want a fastpass for that ride!
