Oh great. Another day of grasping at straws to fit the personal narrative instead of looking at the facts.
Yup definitely warranted. What I find more disturbing is that some posters here would actually side with Disney World if they fired him. They would have preferred if the CM just stood by and let the women and children pound themselves into a bloody pulp.
I read this and all I could think of is the Dave Chappell skit When Keeping it Real Goes Wrong. All over line cutting. I don't understand this, all the test track vehicles are the same color. Now if it were a serious situation, like If someone pushed past me and caused me to miss the blue sailed Peter Pan ship. . .oh, it would be ON.
When was that? "Now get outta here" and removing the parties from the premises or area being a standard line/action even in old movies and older books.Fondly remembering the days when there was a fight, it was broken up and each person went about their way.
Can you quote me the person who said they would side with Disney if they fired him? OR, that they would prefer the CM to just stand by? I know many have said that it is well within Disney's rights to fire the CM because the only protection to unlawful termination of employment would be as a member of a protected class, but I haven't seen anyone say they would prefer the CM just standing by or being fired. You are twisting words and facts in a big way and I am left wondering why?
Anyone who sides with Disney on the firing is therefore also saying they're okay with CM's just standing by watching people get whooped on. Can't have it both ways. From CM's, "You're either with us or against us."

I could be way off base, but I took that to mean nobody sued anybody. So let me get this straight; you would prefer that they just break up a fight in a crowded, public area and then simply say "Run along now, you've got it all out of your system."?
Don't hold your breath. So you can't quote your amazing exaggeration then? I simply asked for a quote where someone said they "sided with Disney" if the CM were fired. I'll continue to wait for that quote.
Don't hold your breath.
If I see a fight breaking out, I would grab the kids in my party and get out of the way. It would never occur to me to expect some young college kid to jump in and protect us.
Why would a ride CM risk getting hurt and/ or fired?
In another thread I questioned about the guy in a shirt and shorts who intervened from the single rider line. His attitude did not look like a typical guest. He put his hands on one of the ladies to restrain her and did not move on when the CM asked everyone to move down the ramp. Other posters said he was not security but I still wonder. It is really concerning that it took so long for Disney security to show up, especially since one woman was basically using a umbrella as a weapon (not sure if it had a pointy tip, but if it did, it could poke an eye out, mother said so, :>). Seriously though, I thought there were suppose to be secret security in khaki shorts & tees all over Disney. Where were they? What if one of these "ladies" (term used loosely) had hit a child while trying to hit each other? Then everyone would have screamed about that poor CM not physically separating them. He did a good job under the circumstances & I didn't see him "body slam" that girl like others have posted. She was still fighting against him, that was her momentum, her fault. And what's up with the teenager or young adult, whichever she is? If I ever got in a verbal altercation (wouldn't happen, not my personality) with another adult my DD would not be chomping at the bit to get involved, nor would she become physical. She would more than likely be trying to calm me & the situation down. She would not escalate it or start fighting, like that girl did. Goodness! What a mess!! Bad examples all around. One more point, both parties should have been kicked out of the park, possibly banned, at least for 5 years!
I'm not going to argue the point. I'm only saying that policies against the administration of a lifesaving drug due to "liability" are not necessary because of Good Samaritan laws... Edited. Removed off topic babble & add: I'm not saying violating policy won't get u fired, only that the policy isn't necessary...at least not for liability.
I am assuming this whole "CM getting fired" thing is hypothetical. There hasn't been any news about the CM being fired, right?
The self defense argument very rarely flies at school.
You'd think tracking someone in a Goofy hat with a pink umbrella wouldn't be that hard.It is kind of amusing to see the many, many posts over the years about how Disney sees everything and their security is so top notch that nothing gets by them. I guess this proves that to be a bit of wishful thinking. I'm sure they do an amazing job given the work load, but they are far from amazing and magical.

All of the cattle pen herding rides (TT, HM, ToT, etc.) are all nightmares. The jockeying for position is especially bad at ToT where people enter the library last try to shove across the room to the release door. What a sad situation and it doesn't look like any of the fighting parties handled the situation well at all.
It does concern me if security "lost track" of the families involved in the park. What happened to their can-find-a-lost-child-within-minutes searching capabilities. Certainly they could have employed the same technique if they'd wanted to find them, right?
But, I do have to say, I *hate* the rush out of the design studio on Test Track. It is a poorly designed funnel. Even if you try to hang back to keep your party together and avoid the stampede, you're likely to practically get trampled by people who think you're in their way. They file you into the design studio in an orderly fashion, why can't they have you file out instead of opening all the doors for a stampede? Mission Space has a similar loading process: Line up on dots --> Go to second location for "pre-show" --> Load. I doubt they have nearly as many arguments there because it's handled much better.
