I had planned this trip for months but not much of it turned out as planned. We still had fun. Told the Grump we would have fun no matter what even though he gets cranky with crowds and our three. And WE DID
Day 1 -- The Travelling circus
DH got off his trip to Austin the day before so there were many last minute things to finish up the morning before we left. I had packed all the suitcases the night before, so all was packed and ready. Baby Grump and the bunny were up within 5 mins and dressed themselves. Only a few grumps from baby grump about not liking long pants and hair brushing (the ultimate torture for them) which is a rare thing as the morning usually is a battlefield with her.. The baby was up and trying to assist by dragging the contents of her toybox to the door.
We were out the door by eight.. quick stop for breakfast (McDonalds and Burger King.. too many choices .. dh had breakfast burrito, I had steak breakfast burrito, baby grump had the egg sandwich at McD's.. Bunny decided she wanted french toast so we went to BK for her and got the baby the same),
then the bank for some cash and a quick run by my work to drop off the pager (why is it just when you are leaving and in a hurry people want to stop and talk.. and talk. It seemed everyone stopped me and had something to say) after 100 years we managed to get on the road
And we were outta there.
I told husband I would drive because I was so excited to go. Truth? Yes.. but did I really need to drive Nah..Real Truth? Dh drives the speed limit and a lil under... Me? when I am in hurry I may speed just a bit..just a tiny bit.
I Want To Be At Disney World already.. were is a transporter when you need one hehe Even so going around 80, most cars passed me, some like I was standing.
Fast forward long drive.. one pit stop.. one full fledged temper tantrum.. more how much longer, are we there yets(game we have is when one person says this it continues until everyone keeps saying.. now come on.. everyone say it... Are we there yet? No.. Are we there yet? No.. Are we there yet? No.. Are we there yet? No.. Are we there yet? No........."), "I'm bored", singing countless children songs(how many time can a bus go round and round) , and a game of disney trivia (which dwarf does not have a beard? What are the names of Simba's parents?)
Of Course the energizer bunny falls asleeps 5mins before we get there. Everyone knows how bunnies are.. they literally bounce and bounce until they collapse in an instant.
When we see the purple lightposts.. the excitement increases and the bunny is awaken to see the grand entrance... past the McDonalds.. on to the ASMovies.. Baby loves the big coco when we pass the Sports. She contiunes through the whole trip to scream COCO as we past the huge cokes. Cute until it gets screamed in your ear for the tenth time
Onto check-in. I got to the counter while DH and girls watch tv. Very friendly new cast member (Linda)... got birthday card for Baby grump, room prefence not noted as told but no problem..She managed to switch us to 101 Dalmations. DDs love the 101 dalmations and wanted to stay in a "puppy" room
The little Shirley temple got her ohhs and ahhs for being so cute all the why running dh ragged. Then she got mad because her sisters got ballons with designs on them but she didn't.. every notice the little one always gets the worse of the picks. They didn't have anymore so Linda drew mickeys on the ballon for her. First rate cast member. Told dh not to worry about Shirley as there was nothing to get into there
Quick stop to room.. perfect location on the bottom floor of Purdy's building. Only few feet to pool and main building. Couldn't have gotten a more prime room is we wanted. Nice though little small. Girls wanted to stay in room and not leave. Gotta love the puppies border and the bedspreads. Crib and extra pillows came right away.
Then off to downtown disney to pick up our tickets. Decided to ride bus. Not bad ride. gotta love the bus ride.
Once there we had a little directional confusion.. girls wanting to all go different places and doing their wandering bit. Finally got to guest relations at the market place..
"ummm what do you mean you don't take checks without a credit card.. I left them all at home as I didn't want to use any.. umm.. whoops left atm card in room also.. Honey, do you have yours? No.. I think we may be in a bit of trouble here.." Dh to the rescue .. he had enough cash on him to pay for the tickets. shhh.. close call. Cast member friendly and gave me a birthday pin for dd as her birthday was the next day.
We were going to stop at McD's or Rainforest cafe for dinner but downtown disney was crowded, and we were a little disoriented as being first time there, and girls were getting tired and going into overload. We decided to head back to room and order in pizza. Before we left I played in the spouting water with the girls for a few while dh watched. He's like the wicked witch.. he thinks he may melt if water touches him. Me, I'm the playing in the rain type. Two oldest girls got upset because they didn't want to leave so I had a race with them to the bus stop
Back in room .. pizza ordered and calm resumed for 10 mins. I leave dh with girls so I can bring some luggage in. On the way, I stop and get him a Pal Mickey, and a few other things at the gift shop. Fight with rolling suitcase, three bags, four jackets, two backpacks .. the battle raged for awhile before I beat down the bags and managed to subdue them til I got to room and found another war raging.
In the half hour it took me to come back.. the girls had drove dh crazy and were screaming and making a general ruckus. Shirley had decided to strip and didn't want her pull ups on. Energizer was bouncing bed to bed.. fell and had cut her head. Baby grump was grumbling and upset because she didn't like the movie on and her sisters were too loud. Grump was mad because I took so long
Restored calm.. kicked big grump out of room to sleep in Andy's room (okay not really but wanted to).. Girls finally fall asleep around 11ish.
ashhhh.. now I'm tired and fall asleeps seconds later. Very long day.. good and WE ARE AT DISNEY!!!!

Lunch - Crystals (I think that is the name) & Taco Bell (we can never agree on where to eat) - $19
Dinner - Inroom service (pizza, $7.49 for tiny half sub!! , 2 small wines, 1 beer) - $38

Gift Shop stop - $ 108 (can't believe the price of Pal Mickey's)
Tickets - 3 Armed Forces Salute tickets (baby and I were free) - $318
Crib/pillow delivery tip - $2

Last thoughts of day-- Love the Movies but think I will stay at Wilderness Lodge next time.. love that place. Nice friendly cast members..
When making a budget always remember to budget in taxes, tip and lots of money for souviners (spent way too much here)
