So you know I've dropped some weight this week.... Well, DBF knows that too. We had a discussion that started this journey and I was fully open with me doing Atkins and he was going to 'make better choices'...okay...what works for one does not work for everyone. If thats what you want to do okay dokay...
Well, sorta small stats- he's 6' and thought he weighed right about 255, wanted to be right near 225 so he thought he had 30lbs to lose.... then I bought a scale and he stepped on. Now, on his side, he did tell me what it said, and he didnt have to......but he wasnt happy......it said 269. so he has about 45lbs to lose. He walked out of the bathroom with about a zillion questions about atkins and induction. he knows I'm sorta cheating, by drinking beer, but other than that I don't cheat. He wanted to know what he had to do to complete a CLEAN induction....I gave him the laptop and said- find it...he did and he's game
so monday morning we actually start a 2 week CLEAN induction. I told him I would do it with him fully commited, no alcohol, no other cheats, and drink my water etc...We went over the induction list and he is aware of what and how much he can eat. of course he lucks out because I will load up his fridge in his truck with food thats on the list thats ready to eat so he isnt lazied into stopping at a truck stop and just eating whatever crap they have. And god they have some unhealthy choices!
I'm not even going to wager what he loses this first 2 weeks, but I think if he did it 100% he could easily drop 15-20 lbs given his size. of course his hard part will be the exercise. he's in that truck 14 hours a day so it's not that easy to hit the gym...plus this week, he's been laid over every night and not even home where he could go to the gym.....I tried to talk him into walking aorund the parking lot at the truck stop but he wasn't really too game on that idea LOL....
I have to get the induction list, and write them down for him so he has it in his truck incase he does have to stop and eat.
The one thing that pushed him over the edge, other than his weight was he had his DOT physical and he was borderline with high blood pressure. With a CDL, your blood pressure can not be elevated, they wont issue your physical card...he was pretty close. Plus I've noticed his sleep apnea is getting worse, and being a Respiratory Therapy student, I know if he dropped 40lbs he'd be much better of in that category.
So thats the news I have today.............no more michelob ultra as of Sunday at midnight.......shesh I might have to get drunk
Kidding, I have scuba class sunday I can't dive drunk...
