BRAND NEW CORONADO SPRINGS FAQ THREAD w/ PHOTOS (PART IV)

I was originally booked at CSR but switched to a deluxe. Now I'm considering switching back to CSR.

Does anyone know if going in late August will guarantee a new room? Well, let me rephrase that. Will the remaining buildings be closed for renovation and only new rooms remain? I'm trying to justify spending an extra thousand dollars on a deluxe and I can't help but go back to my frugal nature. Thanks.

Unfortunately, there are no guarantees. I can tell you that up until now that they have basically closed the building that they are working on. They have eight of the thirteen buildings completely done as of now. Ranchos 7B is currently down and being renovated and should be done by mid to late June. This will then leave Ranchos 7A and floors 1, 2 and 3 of the Casitas to do. The rehab is scheduled to be done by October 09.

Thanks. :) DH is going to roll his eyes again. I honestly am having a hard time spending that extra money.

Not to mention Disney is going to shut me off. :lmao:

To be honest I have stayed at the contemporary and I dont see the big deaL besides the monorail being right there. This resort looks so much more like something I would enjoy! Stay at the CSR and spend the rest on souvenirs...LOL

I just called CRO and changed it back. I did put in a request for a renovated room and she said all rooms would be done by the time we go. Now, I'm not sure if that is accurate given what I've seen here indicates October 09, but I asked her to put a note on the reservation anyway. I'm also going to fax my request.

Excellent! And don't believe everything the CM's tell you. They still tell people that the rooms have double beds, not queens. Keep checking on this thread...we keep people updated as we get info on the renovations!

Oh, I totally forgot about the queen beds!!! I know there will be conventions taking place while we are there but truthfully I'd rather that than loads of tourists. Is that wrong of me to feel that way? :lmao: I swear the last trip we made to the Poly none of us swam in the pool because there was no room.

That is one of the main reasons we love CSR. The convention people are so busy in meetings that they keep the pool empty! And, yes, you'll have queen beds so that would be the same as the deluxe!

Taking a break from running around, packing & such for my toenails to dry! Leaving for CSR at around 5am tomorrow morning. :cool1:

I'll be sure to take tons of pictures & post when I get back. This will be my first stay here & my first trip without the kids! Woohoo!!!!

Have fun at let us know how your CSR experience was when you return. Oct 2nd can't come soon enough for me.

Are you allowed to bring a toaster for your room? I remember seeing back on the Budget Board fridge/coffee maker/toaster swaps (before they were removed from the boards) but I saw in another post that you cannot bring any appliances into a room. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

First stay at CSR, can't wait! princess:

Oh, you're going to love it so much. Both CSR and going without kids. :thumbsup2

Quck question..

On the dining plan, can i use a snack credit for a bagel w/butter or creamcheese?

thanx

I'm happy with my decision, now I need to stay away from the other resort threads.

I finally learned to stay away from other resort threads after several trips to other resorts (several deluxe and 1 moderate) that didn't live up to CSR standards for me!!! Now I've learned my lesson and it's back to CSR in 9 days!!! :goodvibes

Hi everyone,
I'm Laurie and I have a question about room requests. When I booked our trip for 11/26/09-12/4/09 I thought I wanted to stay in the Rancho section. It looks so beautiful to me, I love the landscape but........the more I visit here and read (I'm an obsessive planner:scared1:) I'm not sure if I should just roll the dice and let them put me wherever they please or request the Rancho section:eek:. I would like to be close to the Dig site and a bus stop nothing else really matters to us, I usually take long walks while everyone else is asleep so the main building is of no concern to us.
Can anyone give me some suggestions I am stressing myself out and my trip is still 6 months away:scared1:
Thanks so much!!!
Laurie
By the way, I visit this thread all the time but I think I've only posted once maybe. You are all so helpful.:thumbsup2
