My family just got back from our stay at CSR. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I will try to post some pictures.

We unfortunately didn't get to stay in a renovated room. BUT, no complaints as we were upgraded to a King Suite at check in. We were in Casitas 1 - which was a perfect location. We were pretty much in between bus stop 1 and 2. We'd hit 1 on the way out and get off on 2 when we got back.

I'll attempt to get some pics up. Worst case, click on the link in my siggy which will take you to our blog. I do have pics on there of the resort (and other vacation pics).

Well we got what we were looking for. This resort is so peaceful. We requested and got an upper level room in Cabana 8A. The pool was literally steps away and we visited it all eight days. The kids loved the pool and one of my daughters went down the slide 20 times ( she counted) on our last pool day. The bus stop was also steps away and was an absolute dream. It was quiet and covered with a seating area.

Hi there - quick question...have you done the water parks? We have really enjoyed them in the past, but your post is getting me thinking that maybe we would enjoy the pool and slide at Coronado, save a bit of money on tickets and also reduce some of the travel commotion. I'd love your opinion, and others who may want to weigh in. TIA

It depends on what your looking for really. I've been to both BB and TL before and they are both nice water parks with lots of options as far as rides go. I really enjoyed BB because of the tobbagan and also summit plummet. It's just up to your preferences if you want more thrills or not.

Great pics in your blog! It's it great being upgraded to a suite?!?! We loved it last year. Hope you enjoyed your stay.

We are headed back to CSR in 14 days. :cool1: 9 months ago we stayed in Ranchos 6A...and really liked it. I am getting ready to make our room request and wanted to check in and see what you all would recommend.

We don't eat at Pepper Market, so being close to the Main building is not important. I loved how close Ranchos 6A was to the bus stop, but also would be interested in trying out a new section. And, I definitely want to request a room in a refurbished section.

Any suggestions or tips?

TIA!!

Our favorite area is the Casitas, specficially Casitas 4 or 5 (we love the courtyards with the fountains, etc.). Casitas 4 is done and they are currently working on Casitas 5. Both are close to Bus Stop 2 which is the first pick up and drop off. All of the Cabanas are done.

Beautiful pictures in your blog. I am so jealous that you got to see the alligator. We looked for him many times while we were there but never saw him!!

Here's some pictures from our stay last week. I've got plenty more!

Do you have any idea when Casitas 5 will be done? We arrive June 9 and would love to try that building...:goodvibes

I really don't know. I believe they started it around May 4 or so. Each building, I'm told, takes about a month to finish. JamesLynn should be back on by early June (she's on vacation at Disney with her family) and maybe she can gie us an update.

Disneydreamgirl, Yes we did both waterparks and Disneyquest on our two previous trips. ( They were actually free ticket upgrades with the Spring promotion during those years.)

We loved the waterparks, but always said we would slow it down and spend more time at the pool the next time. Since we were at Coronado, we really wanted time to enjoy the resort.

The pool was great but.... I personally think we could have added a trip to Blizzard Beach to our last vacation. We will next time. :)

Thanks Dazer. I was trying to decide whether or not to add the waterpark sto our next vacation. My daughter is a water baby for sure and she LOVED the dig site. So maybe I will get a 1 day pass to BB!

I had seen in earlier posts that you could request a microwave for the room. They are on a first come first serve basis. Does anyone know the chances of actually getting one? It would be great for breakfast with teens as they don't want to get up early and are not big breakfast eaters anyway. Also would be great for popcorn in the evening. I am going to hope for the best. We will make due no matter what since we are in WDW.

Thanks to everyone for all the great info in this thread. I can't wait until our first visit to CSR in just over 2 weeks.:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Dazer22, thanks for your report. I am so glad that your family enjoyed CSR and found it as peaceful as we do. I'm glad you got to enjoy the hammocks with your kids. And what great weather you had too! Welcome back. If you have any pictures, I hope you'll post them. :)

Ok KAT I know I am going to be sent to my room, but...............

What section has the fountains?? Are they refurbished??

Thanks, I am finalizing my plans.....:rolleyes1

I'm going to let you slide...only if you promise to take lots and lots of pictures and post for me as we are canceling our trip. :sad2:

The fountains are in the Castias section. Casitas 4 is DONE; Casitas 5 is being worked on right now; the fourth floor of Casitas 1, 2 and 3 are done. JamesLynn, our resident CSR gal, is on vacation for two weeks at Disney with her family. Hopefully, when she gets back she will give us an update (I've also sent her a message).
