I've read several reports on other threads about the Pepper Market staff being rude and the food not being good. I'm hoping to hear about better experiences. Or should we plan to eat in the parks?

We did not find the Pepper Market staff to be rude. Many of them did have trouble speaking English though.
We did not care for it because as a family of 4 it was very hard to have all your food ready at the same time. It is also very expensive if you are not on the dining plan. Its not awful, and some people really like it. It just is not a favorite for us. It will not in anyway stop us from staying there again. We loved the resort!

if i wanted to fedex luggage to the resort, what would be the address i send it to and do i have to notify the resort

For anyone who is just back, do the CSR rooms still have the Aquatics toiletries with the separate shampoo and conditioner? Some people have posted getting shampoo/conditioner in one bottle at CBR and the values. I hadn't planned to pack shampoo and conditioner, but the CBR posts have me concerned that they changed the moderate toiletries. Thanks!

Happy Mother's Day, everyone!

CSR has had the separate shampoo and conditioner for awhile. I doubt they've changed back.

Hi. We are staying at the CSR for the first time this summer! I am trying to request a location that will please everyone.

I need a location that is near a bus stop, food, and a pool. It does not have to be the main pool. I was going to put in a request for Casita 4 and hope for the best. I believe that has been completely renovated. I was also thinking about Casita 5, but am not sure if it will be under construction during August or if it will be completed by then.

My other option was Cabana 9B but I am afraid it will be booked for a convention and not available.

Does anyone like being on the 1st floor?

I've heard the marina will be closing sometimes. Does anyone know if it will be open at any point during August 16 - 23?

Thanks for any info/opinions anyone has!!!!!!!!!!! It is hard to please everyone!!!

You sound just like me! :goodvibes

It looks like you and I are looking for the same things too. We're going to request Casitas 4 or 5 also. From what I've read on here, they've been finishing the renovations for each building in about a month, so I'd like to think they'll be done with Casitas 5 by mid-August.

Maybe we'll see you there! ;)

Yes, they still have the separate shampoo and conditioner bottles, as well as lotion.

If your room is located near the main pool, you can get food and drinks there during the day.

Thanks! I knew CSR had separate shampoo and conditioner, but the CBR posts threw me. I thought all the mods at least would be the same, although I never knew the values were different once they got rid of the dispensers. I wondered if they had changed things since the CBR people reported the combo shampoo/conditioner. Glad to know it is still as it was! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I like the H2O+ stuff and thought I could get by without packing shampoo and conditioner. If it was the combo, I'd have to pack more stuff!

CBR isn't the only one who's changed...we stayed at POFQ back in October. I expected the separate ones and didn't bring my own. My hair wasn't happy with me by the time our trip was over :guilty:

I'm glad to hear that CSR is still separate for shampoo/conditioner.

We definitely had the shampoo/conditioner combo at CBR in August 07. The H2O+ was a pleasant surprise.

What I love is that they sell the H2O products in the gift shop! Keep that Disney smell going on all year long! LOL

And for the poster who posted concerns about Pepper Market, I think KatMark was almost on point when she said it was a love it or hate it type of place. It's definitely expensive and alot of the employees do look less than thrilled to be there. Myself and my daughter will only be getting the hot wings and the pizza when we go back. All the other food seemed blah at most. The hot wings and the pizza though were fantastic and well priced.. The pastries were good in the morning. We found that in the afternoon though, after sitting out for awhile the bread was hard and the filling (danishes) were very pasty. I give Cafe Rix thumbs up though!

I know a lot of people have complained about Pepper Market employees. Is it true that the Pepper Market is not apart of Disney? I heard it's run by a seperate company.

None of the CSR restaurants are owned by Disney. In seven stays, we've had one unpleasant or I should say "not overly friendly" server. We only eat there twice a trip and usually take our food ot go to eat outside to enjoy the weather. But the times we do eat inside we've not hard any problems but the one time.

Interesting. I know I've hard mixed reviews about the Pepper Market in general. We only play on using their facilities for a late dinner and possibly coffee/pastry in the morning. Otherwise we'll be eating in the parks for the most part. But that's good to know you mostly had good service there.

I really enjoyed Pepper Market both food and atmosphere. I was worried about eating there due to the "food tickets" but it wasn't hard at all. What we did since we have kids, was walk around and see what was available. I went and ordered the kids pizza and hubby went and ordered our food. I sat with the girls while they started eating and hubby brought ours over shortly after. I almost always order my girls food when we get apps somewhere so they get theirs ahead of us anyways.

Maya Grill on the other hand, not really impressed with, def would NOT eat there if not on the DDP. We had a breakfast there which was fine, nothing overly great but the dinner left a lot to be desired. We had a party of 11 and it was a 3 hour meal, ugh. We barely made it in time to see the Osborne lights due to the late hour.

On another note, 10 days from tomorrow we'll be leaving to head down to WDW & CSR!!!:woohoo:

I booked this weekend for a Jostens workshop in July. Should I even bother with a room request or will they automatically put all of us Jostens people in one area? If I do make a request, what would be the better choice, cabanas or casitas? My husband and sons are going too and will be going to the parks during the days while I'm in classes.

We just returned last Monday from a eight night stay at Coronado Springs. We were one of the families that usually stay at the Pop Century (2 prior trips) and changed to a moderate this time.

First off, let me say that we love the Pop Century and its energy--it was difficult to switch. We were there when our kids were younger but... now that our kids are older and since it was our third trip to Disney we wanted a little more "R&R " along with the parks.

Well we got what we were looking for. This resort is so peaceful. We requested and got an upper level room in Cabana 8A. The pool was literally steps away and we visited it all eight days. The kids loved the pool and one of my daughters went down the slide 20 times ( she counted) on our last pool day. The bus stop was also steps away and was an absolute dream. It was quiet and covered with a seating area.

We loved the new room, the queen beds, and the beautiful wood dividing doors. The kids loved this place from the moment we arrived. They loved sitting on the hammocks and I took turns taking each of my daughters down by the hammocks at 7 in the morning and relaxing with my morning coffee before the day began. I also had some days alone sitting by the Cabana lake with my coffee and it was a calm start to the day.

We had 4 full days in each of the parks and some days by the pool. The weather started in the low 80's the first half of the trip and moved up to 87-88 degrees near the end of our stay-- with no rain. The crowds were not bad at all. We also visited downtown disney and went to the Poly to rent sea racyers and have lunch. This was one of the highlights of the trip since my daughters were old enough to drive the sea raycers. I would recommend visiting the Poly and renting sea raycers if you have older kids.

All in all, the verdict is that the entire family wants to stay at the Coronado again if there is another Disney vacation in our future.

Dazer22, thanks for your report. I am so glad that your family enjoyed CSR and found it as peaceful as we do. I'm glad you got to enjoy the hammocks with your kids. And what great weather you had too! Welcome back. If you have any pictures, I hope you'll post them. :)
